- protea garden - leucospermum flame giant in bloom - what too much fertilizer will do to your plants. king protea about to bloom.
I missed the videos of your cute proteas garden. I can see that your High Gold and some others have died, what a pity ....
I can not stop seeing the video of Santa Cruz Arboretum, what a beautiful place. Greetings from the Canary Islands ...
Are you growing proteas? Yes high gold passed away... so sad! Poor drainage.
I live in penryn not too far from you. Are there any groups or gardening clubs locally regarding proteas. I have planted a few and am just trying to learn from others wisdom before I learn everything the hard way
Amazing plants you have there. I have some king proteas too but they are not as beautiful as yours because their leafs are full of small black spots and I dont know how to deal with them (probably its a fungus).
I wanted to grow some leucospermum also, do you know where can I buy seeds worldwide? I live in spain.
That flame giant gives you what its name promises, uh? Outstanding.

@@growproteas1148 Thanks!
Hi love your protea !! i am wondering if you ever had any yellowing of the bottom leaves or know what would cause they ??also do the plants grown from seed do as well as your nursery bought plants ???thanks !
Yellow leaves usually need iron sulfate - acidifies and adds iron - you can buy on amazon - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QIZPFM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Plants from seeds don't bloom as earlier as nursery plants which are propagated from cuttings - they grow the same though.
thanks for help !
also any tips for augmenting clay soil ? I really want them to succeed but have lousy clay soil here in Danville ? maybe yours is a bit better in Sacto
any ideas for best blend would be fantastic ! i’m jealous of my aussie sister and husband from So africa who have gorgeous plants ! ha

Thank you for sharing your videos! Sorry to hear your other leucospermums didn't take. The surviving one is beautiful though! :)
My Brandi de la Cruz in the ground is slowly dying also. One branch turns brown so I cut it back. Then another... progressively I've ben cutting it back. Only a third left but still hoping it makes it.
Harder plant to grow! But so beautiful!
