I have a similar brake master cylinder to yours with the switch at the 7 o'clock position. Do i have to empty the fluid before changing it?
It isn’t necessary, I just put some rags under the cylinder and swapped them quick. You will lose a little fluid and have to top it off.
Does the new pigtail harness have a fuse on it? I saw a YT video where the old fused harness was used along with this new sensor and harness, I'm guessing for fused protection?
Nope new pigtail is not fused!
@@joethurman2712 So if the new sensor shorts out due to oil leak and overheats it may cause a fire?
@@alismyname2508 the old sensor allowed brake fluid to seep out of the sensor itself. Causing a fire hazard. The new style sensor is designed to where brake fluid doesn’t have the ability to leak, thus no need for the fused harness
@@joethurman2712 thank you for explaining that, I could not find any literature describing the new sensor as improved and not needing a fused pigtail. I'm new to Excursions and have much more to learn. My CC does not function after replacing this brake sensor. CC buttons on steering wheel are wonky... If I hold down the On button and press the Coast button my horn sounds! 😳
