Great book for a beginner . ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.
LOVE the throwback to the basement shop footage. Man, the memories...you are the inspiration to my love of woodworking. Granted i am just a weekend warrior, but i learned so much from watching you. Much love and continued success Jimmy. Appreciate you!!
I'll tell you what, there are not many things better than sitting down with a cup of coffee on a Saturday morning and watching Jimmy Diresta build something.
Man, I’m so glad I found you here on UA-cam. I’ve always enjoyed your videos on Facebook. I’ve always been creative, but your ideas and abilities are way up next level to mine. But you do give me ideas, and inspire me.
This table brings back so many memories of my grandparents' "big table" as they called it. They had ten children, so you can imagine how many of us grands there were. We had a long bench on one side. Great memories. Your family and friends will enjoy this!!
Been watching all your videos for the last 12 years or so I think the letterpress video got me hooked … just wanted you to know you inspired so many talents I’ve developed over the years … and i appreciate it man.
You need to sign and date that!!! It's a work of art, you worked hard on it and over the years when it gets past down people are going to want to know who and when. I wish I had the room for a table like that. Just gorgeous! Love the legs! And that detail trim is sweet!
My wife who never watches UA-cam says," He never could have built that in the little place he had in New York". So. She does watch over my shoulder! Beautiful build Jimmy!! Thanks for the content.
I'm only a weekend hobbyest, but every time I watch Jimmy I learn something new. Plus, his skill and love of the work with his skill and inventiveness helps give me something to strive for..
Wife and I built a 10-footer a couple years ago. A future heirloom. This is a gorgeous piece of work. (I love starting off my Saturdays with a new Diresta build.) And you're looking leaner, Jimmy. Way to go 👊
Man!!! I wish I could do just one build with Jimmy. The stuff I could learn in a short time. Those clips under the table were stellar. I built our dining room table right when I started doing some woodworking and made almost every mistake possible. It’s still standing though 😂👍🇺🇸
The magic that is Jimmy Diresta never ends. If I tried to pour glue into a small bottle that casually, I'd have more on me and the floor than in the bottle! 🤣
2/25/23; ..logs-to-lumber...to beautiful Dining RoomTable, seating for 8! Wow! Jimmy, 8 family 👪 members at one table...that is a whole lot of Speghetti, meat balls, 🍅 tomato sauce & red 🍷! Your video today makes me hungry!...but it's just after Mardi🎉 Gras down here ⚜️🎊...& ya know..some people wanna do Lent..ya know..kinda cut back on 🍺wicked 🍷 indulgements..& here you come with this beautiful table..hyp-no-tizing us back to our bad 'Ole habits...yup! Love yur video 2day! A+ 👍👍👍👏🤷😊
I am becoming a BIG fan, of those Robertson drive screws! Was assembling something, had the screw in all the way, and the tip of the bit, in the screw, and it held up the driver and everything, going horizontally into some boards. (18 volt full size driver. Screw and bit held the whole thing up.) steve
I’ve found that turning spindles to match is not easy. Having a big area to build is probably something you’re always thankful for since leaving the NYC shop. I too like the machine noise.
I exactly remember the video where you made those legs, and I've remembered them a few times over the years thinking if they ended up in some project off camera. Glad to see them used in this wonderful table.. Cant believe it's been 8 years! :D
Very beautiful Design Jimmy. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge on. Fab on. Weld On. Keep making. God bless.
Awesome work Jimmy!! Back to wearing the Rolly in the shop. This truly is a classic video already…. Wood working and the Rolex. Sorry I’m a big horological fan as well as a wood worker. ❤

Thank you for doing the voice over .. makes it much more enjoyable to watch
Awesome content
Love all the hard work
Miss the old shop
Vintage classic table
Man, after you put that Gleem on the tabletop, the color & shine really took it to another level. Awesome job.
Jimmy, as a Canadian I nominate you as an honorary citizen for using Robertson screws.
❤😂
At the end of the first voice over segment he said “ok, back to the shop noises.” That put a big smile on my face. I love the sound of Jimmy’s videos.
Nice throwback to the basement you found on the streets of New York 🤍
Watching the clip inserted of making the table legs was such a blast from the past!!!

it's friday and I'm watching this in an armchair with a bottle of beer in my hand, feels pretty good too
Thursdays aren't bad for it either!
Always fun to watch you work, thanks for the vid 👍
Nostalgia kicking in from the old shop. Especially, the axe.

Great job Jimmy you are an awesome Carperter/Master of most trades.
I remember watching you make this when I was single. Now i’m married with kids watching you finish, how time flies.
I've been dazzled by your creativity since you and John did Trash to Cash. Love what you do.
Old school, classic Diresta build. Thank you.

It was really cool to see your old shop!

Nice throwback to the old shop!! You haven't aged a day!! 🤘

Can’t believe I’ve been watching you for almost 8 years

Some people have “restless leg syndrome”. Jimmy’s legs are not restless - they waited 8 years to contribute! 😂😂😂. Awesome build Jimmy!
When I saw those table legs I remembered seeing them from the early early days of this channel :)
Ty for explaining what you were doing. Am learning alot. Ty.
PS: Those "clips" are genius.
Awesome Video! You have been one of my inspirations for my own youtube channel!
Glad you are reclaiming your house! Beautiful heirloom table, Jimmy.
Sure is a good thing the hatchet works and that tree was dead!
Awesome work!
Very kewl to see the basement shop again!!
Wow the good old nyc underround shop.. It's been a couple years Jimmy !! Awesome work brother !

The potential of an empty table 😊
That table flip over was well executed 🎉
Man!!! I wish I could do just one build with Jimmy. The stuff I could learn in a short time. Those clips under the table were stellar. I built our dining room table right when I started doing some woodworking and made almost every mistake possible. It’s still standing though 😂👍🇺🇸

Most amazing skill was that glue bottle refill, without it spilling all over.

Loved the table right up to you dying the top terracotta and then glossing it
I’m going to make a new family dining room table this year. I think this is the design to go with. Love it.

Wow, that is beautiful!
When you have more than you need, build a bigger table, not a taller fence. But, you know, don't rush it.
Cool to see the old NYC shop while you were making the legs. Impressive you could find the legs. I would have lost them for sure.
That's a gorgeous table! Amazing like always! Something that would have been made 100 years ago and it will last a hundred year also!
Such a gorgeous piece of work!
Beautiful and rustic👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Nice table, Jimmy! I can imagine some great dinners with a bunch of people sitting around that table!
Some day we are gping to witness this man making Guoness WR table lengthwise 😁

When you said you made the legs years ago, I completely forgot about the Manhattan shop videos! ❤
I’ve found that turning spindles to match is not easy. Having a big area to build is probably something you’re always thankful for since leaving the NYC shop. I too like the machine noise.
Beautiful 😍 looking forward to sitting at it, during Makers Camp weekend.
I exactly remember the video where you made those legs, and I've remembered them a few times over the years thinking if they ended up in some project off camera. Glad to see them used in this wonderful table.. Cant believe it's been 8 years! :D
