I'm 55 and have been a Beatles fan since 1968 (when I was 5) and this has been one of the most refreshing and fun medleys of Beatles tunes I have heard in a VERY long time!!!
"Help" was arguably a punk precursor. While most other songs needed some level of reimagination, the original version of "Help" has always been already almost there, what with the vocal pacing and breakdowns. They just didn't have the modern framework for punk yet (distortion + public understanding or acceptance of the concept). Awesome job btw.
You can really really tell how influential the Beatles were on Green Day just by listening to this. Billie Joe has talked a lot about it but once you hear it like this it makes so much more sense
Wtf is this???? This is a masterpiece in itself. This dude truelly has genuine artistic talent. In fact, he literrally has more talent than 90+ % of the Billboard Top 20... Hope he makes it big !
Here comes the sun fit perfectly. I'd love to hear a full version of that. Let it be was also great, could be done in the style of Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
In the very early days when they still wore leather on stage and performed gigs drunk or swore between songs; that was quite punk for it's day before Epstein smartened the group up. But I wouldn't personally describe these re-imaginings of Beatles songs as being 'punk' versions at all.
omg i did not expect this. the beatles are my favorite band, and combined with my favorite punk rock youtuber, this is just pure awesome. thank for this!
I really liked it. Although the first few the sound felt a bit cluttered to me like I feel like Eleanor rigby would be more minimalist but it still sounds cool.
Well done DSwish! I enjoyed that very much even though the Beatles are one of my favourite bands of all time and I'm happy they did their versions of their songs. I certainly found your versions fun, interesting and delightful. Songs "Eleanor Rigby" and "Come Together" originals really have that punk edge to them You are a very talented musician DSwish! Perhaps you can do [If Pink Floyd Were Punk].
The Beatles were basically a punk band in their early days. Listen to the Hamburg tapes, specifically their cover of “Long Tall Sally.” They blew the roof off that fucker. They were pretty punk in “Ticket to Ride,” “I’m Down,” “Happiness is a Warm Gun,” and “Helter Skelter.”
The Rooster I thought so too. It has something to do with the high gain guitar sound and his playing style. You could say, that his style is too exactly for true and dirty old school punk. For that it would have been a lot more reduced. It reminds me more of modern styles of skater punk, maybe a little bit hardcore. But I love it and think that it's a cool job.
Well, there is still Pop Punk, Skate Punk or Melodic Hardcore. Those are very melodic and polished. Like Descendents, The Vandals, Lagwagon and yes, Green Day.
I'm 55 and have been a Beatles fan since 1968 (when I was 5) and this has been one of the most refreshing and fun medleys of Beatles tunes I have heard in a VERY long time!!!
Right there with you!
@Patrick Arnett He's an ok boomer, though.
That sounds so sick man! 🤘🏻😂 rock on!
Patrick Arnett shut the fuck up
@Patrick Arnett predictable and probably massively in debt - I feel for you (not really....)
Half sounds like Weezer, other half sounds like Green Day...
ZombieDeathRace Is that Bad
Comrade Сука I wouldn’t say so
Ljacfl Good cause I'm actually a fan of both those fans
Catchy. Nice covers, seriously. Dunno about "Yesterday" so much, but these work well.
None of those bands r punk
1:35 - Twist and Shout sounds like Walking contradiction by Green Day.
1:41 - Yesterday could be a Weezer song.
bro you're so right about twist and shout
For sure!
i thought ramones when i heard the twist and shout one
@@aname7647 That too. Ramones unintentionally inspired entire genres with their music.
I completely agree with Twist and Shout sounding like Walking Contradiction
Might be fun to do this the other way around: What if the Beatles covered some famous punk songs?
Too bad half of them are dead
Abandoned Shadows ok butthead
Beatles A.I. Can do it
@@abandonedshadows2246 yup, RIP ringo and paul
@@davidglasspool4921 Sucks. Paul and Ringo were taken from us too soon.
Hopefully John and George can keep the legacy going though.
"if green day made a cover of beatles songs"
If Paul McCartney sounded like Billie Joe and thought hey I hate Beatles sound let's make it punk
my exact thoughts
YES!!!! AHHHHH
This doesnt really sound green day at all with all of the lead guitar
Märtinä Täbärez I mean they always sing Hey Jude lmao
Me: **Reads title**
Me: "Yes I want to hear what it would sound like if Green Day covered beetle songs."
''Help'' and ''Twist and shout'' sounds a lot like green day songs
TRUE
It's the beat
there is a green day song, "fashion victim", that uses a very similar chord progression to the one in "help" :D
Walking Contradiction for Twist and Shout lmao
Also Yesterday sounded very similar to Outlaws by Green Day.
Is it me or ...He low key looks like Paul McCartney
More like Punk McCartney
@@notjotaro1696 AHAHAHA TRUE
I KNOW RIGHT!??
He does and it's hilarious
He does
1:24 this is Soundgarden
Its beatles you idiot search it up
ARCHIEYT he means what it sound like
@@95georgie no sound garden did a cover if come together and he thinks its the original one
@@tpgeek7688 Where did he ever mention that he thought it was Soundgarden’s version? Nowhere. So stop making false assumptions
@@Paul-gf6kp he said THIS IS SOUNDGARDEN DUMBASS
I am a Beatles purist, and yet, I think that your renditions are great. Very cool.
This sounds so much like Green Day
Pretty sure Green Day takes influence from The Beatles in some fashion. Then again, Green Day are the codifiers of Pop Punk, so maybe THAT'S it.
Green Day take a lot of inspiration from the Beatles.
Scsigs literally everyone takes inspiration from the beatles in some way too
*plastic punk xD
Scsigs maybe

They just didn't have the modern framework for punk yet (distortion + public understanding or acceptance of the concept).
Awesome job btw.
listen to the cover of “Help!” from the Yesterday movie and you’ll really hear it in a faster pace closer (but admittedly not super close) to punk
Taxman, revolution, Helter skelter were also very punk
0:24 i immediately thought of "know your enemy" lmao
these songs sound so much like green day tbh
Alex Nowak they were indeed influence by The Beatles
Even some of their new songs have a Beatles feel
Last Night On Earth is so Beatles
Alex Nowak SAME HAHA
Green days not punk!! There more rock.. Listen to sloppy secounds ramones or early clash.. Or the stooges and sex pistols
SAME
You can really really tell how influential the Beatles were on Green Day just by listening to this. Billie Joe has talked a lot about it but once you hear it like this it makes so much more sense
If the beach boys were punk
Johann Maaya OMG YESSS...
Johann Maaya yesssssss!!!
Johann Maaya the Descendents did a cover of Wendy.

Help sounds exactly like ¡Viva La Gloria! And Letterbomb by Green Day
More like Revolution Radio
This is great. The entire Revolver album is so punkable. Love to hear you do that in it's entirety.
The Beatles are my favorite band, and I love what you did, it's such a tribute
Wonderful. Let's try with "Revolution 9" :)
No one:
Helter Skelter and Revolution: “Hold my Fuzz Petal”.
"If Green Day travelled back to the '60s with a time machine and rewrote Beatles' songs"😂👍🔥🎸
that version of here comes the sun >>>
"Help!" Sound pretty much like the early Green Day, amazing vid! ❤
Ian Huitron Sounds more like the recent green day, "early" (1989-1997) green day didn't sound this layered
the chords he played for the Help! are the exact same chords used in the opening of Letterbomb by Green Day in American Idiot
Listen to the Damned version of " Help " with Brian James on guitar
Not early Green Day, but it sounds exactly like Letterbomb
So did twist and shout
Wtf is this???? This is a masterpiece in itself. This dude truelly has genuine artistic talent. In fact, he literrally has more talent than 90+ % of the Billboard Top 20... Hope he makes it big !
Well they were punk in Hamburg spitting at the crowd, eating on stage, all leather, cowboy boots poppin uppers...and playing rock n roll
Kevz Rhivera And John Lennon with a Tampax in his head...
Beatles style song + punk sound= GREEN DAY!!!
YES!!!! That’s why I love them
Always thought come together would sound really cool punk! This was really awesome!!
MyBrainIsStew have you listened to the Gary Clark Jr. cover?
Evan Rachwalski have you heard a Soundgarden cover?
Could you make a full version of Here Comes the Sun? It sounds so great
i want a full version of these all! Especially Yesterday. Great work!
Come Together sounded fucking sick! Especially those harmonizations at 1:30
OK but Help literally is a Green Day sound alike with punk influence
Wait... I thought Green Day WAS punk...

Stig Weard Green Day is punk.
Stig Weard yeah fuck off, don’t fucking compare Green Day to Justin Bieber. They are a punk band, deal with it.
Can't believe this is what got me back into Green Day and TheBealtes
pop punk
exactly. I was expecting like Velvet Underground
My first thought
It probably wouldn't sound like the Beatles if it weren't at least a little poppy.
Exactly
Could not agree more.
Here comes the sun fit perfectly. I'd love to hear a full version of that. Let it be was also great, could be done in the style of Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
Beatles and punk together! Best!
The Beatles punked themselves with Revolution. The soft one on the White album and the rockier one on the B side of the Hey Jude single.
+Evets Nitram don't forget Helter Skelter
Missed an opportunity to sound like the My War album by Black Flag on Come Together.
You should do if Elvis was punk!!
Schizophrenic Satan he'd be Elvis costello
True
or Misfits
" If Green day covered the beatles "
awesome.
My favorite band mixed with my favorite genre! So awesome. Excellent work!

That "Hey Jude" 😍
I really liked it. Although the first few the sound felt a bit cluttered to me like I feel like Eleanor rigby would be more minimalist but it still sounds cool.
I actually really liked the Eleanor Rigby one, it reminded me of black parade era my chemical romance
Someone should do full length covers of these songs
Great job! Would love to hear full versions of some of these with vocals.
We need that Eleanor Rigby in punk!
Full videos of these songs please! So good
I want a full version of Here Comes the Sun! :D
What do you mean 'IF'
A little bit ago I mention this dude looks like punk Paul McCartney and here he is doing The Beatles 😂
The Damned covered Help in 76.....
Yesterday sounded rad! would love to hear a full version
This sounds more like Green Day that Greenday itself
Melodies are too good to be punk but you are very clever to rearrange them. Good effort.
I never leave your channel disappointed . Youre super talented its crazy !
There is a The Beatles punk cover band called The Punkles.
Great stuff.
if The Beatles were POP punk
No, If the Beatles were punk is a good title. Pop punk is still punk...
I'd love to hear a vocal version of this medley.
Awesome dude
I was rocking out the whole time!😂 Really nice guitar playing!😎You are a rock star!🤩
very cool man :)
I think we need some full covers. These are awesome!
The beatles are already soo much more punk than all of this
Dylan Bressler no they arent haha
Death Metal Helter skelter
Death Metal how aren’t they? Photo punk and the Beatles share a lot of he same attributes
Death Metal Except they are. Songs like Helter Skelter and Revolution are way more punk than this. This is just shitty fake pop punk
Flying To Learn truth
This album needs to come out!
very cool!
People need to understand the difference between punk and pop punk, but nice job, man. I’m impressed.
This aint punk.... it aint bad but it aint punk
“Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey” is a punk type song without the need of this nice punk tribute.
Full version of twist and shout please!

As a huge Beatles fan this was both awesome and hilarious at the same time, nice work dude
If The Beatles were punk = The Ramones.
Federico Ionescu *green day
Tobias Mcnuckets Green Day is not punk, they're pop punk, different sound entirely.
So Ramones is not punk since they are pop punk
Pedro Gabriel wtf are you going on about of course the Ramones are punk, real punk, none of that Green Day overproduced pop punk
lol wtf???
The Beatles were basically a punk band in their early days. Listen to the Hamburg tapes, specifically their cover of “Long Tall Sally.” They blew the roof off that fucker. They were pretty punk in “Ticket to Ride,” “I’m Down,” “Happiness is a Warm Gun,” and “Helter Skelter.”
1:59 is the best cover
This is awesome! You jam and you enjoy it! Music is best when heart is put into it!! Keep up the awesome work
If the beatles were cheesy pop punk.
Ok boomer
Please do full covers! 😂
This sounds more power metal than punk sometimes.
Video- “if the Beatles were punk”
Me and everyone else- *GREEN DAY*
You mean “if the Beatles were falling in reverse” not punk
They already did punk.. have you heard "Polythene Pam?"
Sorry, but that for the most part was not Punk. That was Metal with some Punk grooves here and there.
The Rooster I thought so too. It has something to do with the high gain guitar sound and his playing style. You could say, that his style is too exactly for true and dirty old school punk. Can we get full versions
So - Much - Emo
Tim Harjo Emo doesn't sound upbeat
I don't know you, but I've got to say you are now one of my favorite people on this big round crazy world. Thank you.
Good... but this is not punk :)
In all of these guys videos he seems to just be having a lot of fun. It's nice to see a creator having fun, and he plays the music I like.
REAL Punk isn't this melodic, or polished sounding
scottericksonmusic What is "real punk"? In the early days bands like Blondie & Television were called punk before it went all narrow in the eighties.
William Kramps No such requirement exists!
Well, there is still Pop Punk, Skate Punk or Melodic Hardcore. Those are very melodic and polished.
Like Descendents, The Vandals, Lagwagon and yes, Green Day.
XabtX I'm not even sure that most of that is genuine punk, more like a commercial form of New Wave.
scottericksonmusic real punk just do music the way he wants and fuck your judgment KSJSKS do it yourself ( he's doing, wat bout you? )
also that smile during here comes the sun made my heart scream
The Beatles are my absolute favourite band, and you sir, have done them proud
Do if the Electric Light Orchestra was punk
Shows how awesome and timeless Beatles tunes are...and will always be. They sound good in any musical genre.
This is so cool, i literally loved help and twist and shout, which almost sounded like blitzkrieg bop.
Cheers man.
