Hello, Welcome to our channel! 🙋♀️ 🙋♂️
So, we did a reaction on Koreaboo today. It was requested for multiple times, and I was personally interested, too! I think it is possible that we didn't feel negative about so called Koreaboos in the videos because we are Koreans :) We felt really interested and quite proud that there are people who are so deeply in love with our culture/language! What do you guys think?😃
Hope you guys enjoy today's video. Love you!
Please leave us a comment below and tell us what to react to next!!

I don’t see why people care so much about what other people are doing . Why do they have to have a name attached to it .. hum let me try this for example Haha but um 😐 I guess nobody wants to mention anything about Koreans getting double eye lid surgery ... huh wait what I can’t hear you lol . So what does that make you... anericanboo lol
@@mykiea5156 Its just getting double eyelids(Which is just getting normal plastic surgery),you're not changing your race, whole face and culture.Meanwhile we have people getting tons of surgery and claim about being korean. What about that? There might be some (korean or any other different country's citizens) who want to look american but its not too common from what I've seen...And its a huge common thing mainly cause of kpop so yeah people will give it a name.
@@mykiea5156 triggered much?
Jung Hoseok kick me also double eyelids are common in Asians, not as much in Korea but it’s a desired look that has nothing to do w race
International people have a bigger problem with koreaboos more than koreans themselves, most of them have no idea what koreaboo is 😂
and when they watch the vids, they defend the so called “koreaboos”
wht is koreaboo btw lol
They fetishized Koreans or Asians so much, that they want to change their race, culture, or facial features to be Korean or Asian in general
its because in america people are so used to racisim that even when they see things such as koreaboos they automatically associate it with things like cultural appropriation. Thats also why americans more than koreans react so negatively to non koreans trying to do kpop. Most Koreans see it as pride in there counrty if people want to be like them but Americans see it as disrespect.
@@ah-jk6vx not only in america, but I think it's a little weird cuz we are'nt koreans, imagine people acting like american or other, i don't know you but for me it's normal, i'm not surprised with it

Creopl Tily I had to pause as soon as the aegyo started because the cringe factor was too much
The girl in the first video was interviewed by a kpop youtuber about her cringey past. There was a giant hate following because of her, consisting mostly of non-korean fans, offended by her... behavior? It's sad that she's still in these kboo cringe comps bc that was her years ago as a teenager.
Also I noticed her grandmother really wasn't offended *and she's Korean*
I really want a grandmother like that she has such a kind personality-
Whoah there mate I never thought I'd get that many likes
Yeah ikr i thought that she would hate it

Omg I turned the likes form 999 to 1K and it was so satisfying- also me too, she’s so nice, except one of my Grandma’s are already this kind and I love her.
Hello there kageyama🙋🏻♀️
What the women are saying is:
- Koreans don't do aegyos often, it's just in front of the social media.
- if some foreigner said a Korean word, it doesn't mean he/she is a whole Koreaboo, it's okay to learn.
😊

I think a more concrete definition of koreaboo is someone who tries to act like they’re Korean themselves while at the same time managing to fetishize Koreans and Korean culture. Someone who is interested in Korean entertainment, culture, and language isn’t really considered a “koreaboo”. If you’re doing your eye makeup to try and make yourself look Asian and running around the US calling guys “oppa” then you’re probably a Koreaboo. 😂 It would almost be like someone doing blackface and saying they did it because they appreciate black culture and beauty but in reality they’re making a mockery of the people they claim they want to emulate.
I agree! Someone just doing korean makeup and stuff is not a koreaboo. But someone who fetishizes Koreans and korean culture is a lot different. For example, there are girls who adopt a “korean name” and then say that they are “korean” despite being from another race. Those are examples of a koreaboo.
snowflake hah right! I didn’t mean just doing your makeup with a more Korean style, I meant actually using eyeliner to make your eyes look Asian. There are some really cringe pictures out there if you google it. 😂
People don't realize that Koreans and Japanese are "Americaboos" or "Germanyboos" themselves, almost every Korean or Japanese phrase has some sort of English mixed in and the Japanese are VERY fixated with Germany. Do not even mention what Latin America has become after the American Dream propaganda.
nicole3359 yeah like blackphishing which is disturbing to see
crazyassshenanigans Yes! Blackphishing is actually a much better example than blackface.

Grandma : she cute.
Lol this is why we love our grandma.. 😂
I don’t love “our grandma” for thinking western aegyo is cute, that shit look forced af
It’s always non Koreans that judge other people and call them koreaboo.. funny.
Same with people who are intrested in japan, but I cant think of terms like these for other countries like the england or Mexico
@@Crouton- For people who are obsessed with the UK, England in particular, I think the term is Anglophile. Not sure for Mexico, though.
I also feel like it’s a lot of Koreans or Asians living in western countries. I personally find people appreciating my culture and trying to learn the language not offensive but when people start to befriend or try to date me because they wanna ‘live out their be fetish’, that’s when I get offended and then I call someone a ‘Koreaboo’ or ‘Asian Hunter’
Have you seen them? Most of us try not to hate but sometimes they take it to far and it's annoying and really bad. Plus Koreans tend to accept it cause they think it's funny
its because in america people are so used to racisim that even when they see things such as koreaboos they automatically associate it with things like cultural appropriation. Thats also why americans more than koreans react so negatively to non koreans trying to do kpop. Most Koreans see it as pride in there counrty if people want to be like them but Americans see it as disrespect.
Y’all 4:18 is Jessica Viba and she is just kidding in that tutorial! She has som very entertaining videos about Koreaboos! Go watch
Yeah, Jessica Viba was just kidding. She explained during one of her videos
Wait that's Jessica Viba??? omg I see her recent videos with the koreaboo stories. Didn't know that was her lol
Lol, when I saw that video I was in HYSTERICS. I cant believe her vid is actually here. Someone should make her react to it
yeah its just a joke she's not actually a kboo
Okay but the way that Koreaboos pretend to have an accent when they speak English-
Yeah-
it doesn’t sit right with me tbh it’s mocking
I feel bad for Jimin, in almost every MV of Oli London’s, you can see a cardboard Jimin. Oli calls Jimin his “Husband” and it gets so annoying 😂😅
I'm just waiting for Bighit to finally serve Oli with a cease and desist since it's really getting out of hand. If he wasn't such an ass i might actually feel bad for him cuz it's blatantly obvious he has some sort of body dysmorphia.
@@lynndabbousi4566 Yep.
Oli London’s most racist moment was when he said he is 50 percent Korean and will keep eating Korean food until he is 100 percent. It is really rude that he said that yet also stupid. You can’t change cultures.
@@ellie_jvj5792 of all the things i've heard about this dude this got me, my brain is melting holy crap. How can someone be THAT stupid? Like the hijab comment he made was BAD (i'm muslim so it hits close to home) but that is not only bad but idiotic!
The hijab incident: a muslim girl called Oli out on his BS on twitter and instead of using proper arguments to debate her he just said her opinion is invalid because she is opressed just because she is a hijabi. Hijabi is a term used in the muslim community in reference to a woman who wears a hijab
everytime I say I listen to kpop, there's always someone that doesn't know anything about the term, but still call me a koreaboo. I'm learning Korean by my own (cause I truly think is a beautiful language and to get more close to the culture I must learn), together with other languages. I've been always interested in Asia culture, but music in general got me close to Korea. I don't wanna born again as a Korean or change my race. Like, can some people just understand the difference!
It's like others want to put people down for learning about a culture, when deep down they wish they were passionate about something like that.
I can one hundred percent understand you. Try your best and ignore the ignorant assholes. Most people, especially people actually of the culture, feel honored that a foreigner is interested in their culture, and wants to learn their language. Besides, the more knowledge you have the better!! 💞
I like the Korean culture but I don’t want to be a korean I’m glad with my ethnicity
Yea not the same thing
Exactly i do love my own culture but its just that i love watching kdramas because they are different from the movies or series that you can find in my country and i want to learn korean to watch kdramas without subs. So i mean there's no negatively in there right?
they called me weaboo. I'm not obsessed to Japan. I am just enyojed to watch anime...
some people are just killing me wtf just for watching anime?? enjoy watching dude and ignore those things...gosh
Bruh just because u like anime doesnt mean you are a weaboo, dont listen to them ♤■
That means ur a weaboo
Watching anime doesn’t make you a weaboo lol
The whole of Japan watch anime and some are OBSESSED like madmen- you’ve seen the anime girl pillows. SO does that make the whole of Japan weaboos?? Tbh- these terms that were invented are racist In themselves.
Watching anime does not make you a ‘weeaboo’ *periodtt*

Grandma is too pure for internet❤️ she sees the beauty of everything while we all cringe. Bless her!
It is a little weird that girls speak in that little girl tone lol but hey each culture is different
I think this is usually recognized as a sign of childhood sexual abuse but I think idols act younger because that is the marketing strategy.
I also think it’s because Korean and also Japanese are spoken in the front of the mouth, unlike English that is spoken in the back of the mouth, so the voice sounds higher. But that’s just a theory...

Thanks for Reading
Rather than bcz they are interested in the culture or the language, koreaboo's reason is mainly based on feteshizing and wanting to be like what's seen in kdrama or kpop so they tend to be stereotypical as well
i think the word KPOPBOO is more accurate to be called!
@Sprite ironically
There are young Koreans who also want to live life like they see in the drama or kpop so I think the term should be changed
Wow the grandmother even had something nice to say about oily london she’s really too kind
My mom is full Korean and (as a white kid) I grew up around a lot of Korean culture. I don't pretend to be something I'm not but I absolutely love and respect the culture and I understand why some people are so fascinated by it. I'm partial to Norse/Viking culture myself but I consider myself to be internationally open minded, especially when it comes to food
The only time I find it as something bad, is when the person is trying to change themselves. Enhance yourself with Korean makeup style if it makes you look good! Learn Korean if you enjoy it (more knowledge is always great!). But never change yourself to someone unrecognizable, at the point where you don’t know who you are anymore.
i agree :)
Perfect
in fact just speaking korean doesn't mean it's being a koreaboo at all...in fact speaking another language with the intention of learning it is a great thing but when it comes to the point when you want to 'change' your nationality by denouncing your own culture and trying to even 'change' yourself to a korean and changing your mannerisms is a koreaboo...plus, what these people do is 'culture appropriation'
I don’t care what anyone wants to do to themselves, I got better things to do then worry about someone else .. but Haha but um 😐 I guess nobody wants to mention anything about Koreans getting double eye lid surgery ... huh wait what I can’t hear you lol . Tbh i have no problem with “koreaboos”. I gotta admit, sometimes i like speaking korean too... and sometimes even do some cringy aegyo, but just to joke around. But if they took things too far then yeah im concerned. Lmao XD I do ageyo just to joke around, for example like when my friends are down, and i just want to make them laugh (and cringe XD) i’ll just do some cringy aegyo. But its not like i ACT cute, and pretend to be this cutie, as a pretended personality. Just for funzies ya know? Its just hard to explain... plus its not like i tried to be korean. I just like how natural and cute korean makeup is. Im half asian half australian, so thats also probably why. But guys PLEASE! Dont do plastic surgeries to look like your idols! It will not look like how you expect it to look like! Plus dont be overly obsessed. Its just so weird and cringy...
I can’t do aegyo. And not literally but when I know I’m gonna be embarrassed after I won’t do it. So never ask me to do aegyo!

I feel so happy that these two accept that we learn their culture like I get called a Koreaboo just because I wanna learn Korean and move there it’s not like I was changing my origins
Learning I and forcing yourself to be like them are two different things. When you are forcing yourself to assimilate a Korean person like the aegyo stuff then it gets koreabooish
For me i only really call someone a koreaboo if they're being extremely offensive to either korean culture or other cultures. There's a racist koreaboo in my class although she's black she constantly says stuff like "black skin is so ugly, i want to have skin like a kpop idol etc" It's actually sad and angering to see someone degrade other races just to praise the one they have a fetish for

"On all levels except physical, I am Korean. Annyeonghaseo"
I think the term " koreaboo" is more like how those people act around asians. They are fetishizing people with asian ethnecitie and I heard of alot of cases where the victim got traumatized. Sure you are not a koreaboo just by liking kpop, kdramas, korean fashion and makeup or by learning the language. But as soon as you fetishize the korean culture and take it so far that you don't have any respect for a persons private space and don't care about how they feel and you just want to be their friend because they are korean not because of the person themselves you can use "koreaboo" as a negative term.
Sorry for spelling mistakes !
Koreeabo is always been deemed as negative because seriously they're really annoying and even wishing that they became korean theirself
I agree with you, and it's something I find potentially destructive..There is such a fine line between respecting and admiring a culture and fetishism..If you are the type of person who enjoys other languages, cultures, food then please explore the world there is so much to offer..But these trends now, where it concerns thing specifically Korean, border on obsession and fetishism..I married the Korean guy I went to school with, we met when we were 12, we are in our 40s now..What bothers me the most probably are these look at me and my Korean boyfriend videos on you tube..Man, just stop, stop it..I can write an entire thesis on everything that is wrong with that but I feel like you might already know..Some of these girls/ppl are doing this now when they wouldn't have even blinked at the Asians/Koreans that they grew up around..It hurts my heart a bit to think how things will be once this "trend" subsides..How many ppl will feel hurt, used by this..
That's fair.
Woaah these two are so cool. I can't handle and was cringing at its finest, but they were just laughing and saying "it's cute". 😮👏
From food to TV I love your Grandma. She is always open to new things. By the way am I the only one who thinks she looks way younger than 70.
I... I'm not gonna lie, I felt really uncomfortable watching the aegyo part.. It's mostly because outside of Korea, there's no such thing as aegyo, so it would just look plain weird if someone started acting like that in public. But even over in Korea, women don't just randomly start doing aegyo in the streets either. Props for the grandmother for being so open-minded and patient though! This is an awesome video, keep it up!

I’m not a koreaboo but I like Korean culture and the language
In fact, Im trying to learn a lot of Asian cultures. I’m a Asian myself. I already know about Japanese culture, and I’m learning Korean culture. Next would probably be Chinese.
Wait idk if I’m a koreaboo- someone explain
I am the same. I don't think it's the same thing ,you are educating yourself properly and respect the culture it is not because you have a blind obsession with wanting to become a Korean. We love the culture and country not the idea of being a Korean.
Trust me, you're not. It's awesome to try and learn other languages and about other cultures. Go for it! I think Koreaboo is used for people who fetishize the Korean culture and try to "look" Korean, basically, trying to denounce their own culture and race. But if you wanna wear Korean clothes and makeup brands, that doesn't make you a Koreaboo and honestly, people are allowed to try out things from other countries, just like learning the language and culture, and trying the food and wanting to try and make it themselves. TL;DR: You're not a Koreaboo. Personally, learning another language is cool as heck! I'm trying to learn Korean, along with Japanese and Spanish. lol I also want to learn Russian, but I don't wanna learn more than one language at once or my head will explode. I only know English and I want to be fluent in more than just one language. I always feel dumb when there are people who know like, 8 languages and then there's me who only speaks her mother tongue. :(
Good luck to you learning Korean and Mandarin, or Cantonese, since with Chinese, there's more than one language. :) Have fun with it and hope you reach your goals!!!
InSomniaArmyCheshire MooMooReveluvMeU :) good luck learning the languages you learn! I’m new to the Korean culture and I know a few stuff, and I thought wearing Korean makeup and using Korean skincare would make you a koreaboo, yes i was that stupid. Ngl, Asian Skincare is the best!

I think the sharing and enjoying of different cultures is very beautiful. One cannot understand others if they are not willing to learn and understand where that person comes from. please this whole video is filled with positivity we need people like them in this world
i used to be a big fan of kpop but my friends used to always say I was a koreaboo for liking kpop and i just grew out of kpop so I wouldn’t have to be made fun of.
Learning the Korean language and experiencing the culture i believe isn't considered being a koreaboo. Most of what is in the compilations are actually skits by persons who aren't koreaboos.
Personally i believe what is generally perceived as "koreaboo like behaviour" is when persons who are not Korean literally go up to persons saying they're korean, stalk koreans or asians because they want to be korean and even force what they like onto other people.
People can like what they want but i think it is when it reaches a point of affecting others and making them uncomfortable is when it is considered to be "koreaboo like behaviour".
P.S. I love you all 😢
Idk if what i said made sense. But basically appreciation and immersion in a culture is very welcome by people.
It's when people become obsessive is where i think the "koreaboo" or "asiaboo" light gets shone upon them
Pyump kyin people do the same things with tons of cultures who cares . Haha but um 😐 I guess nobody wants to mention anything about Koreans getting double eye lid surgery ... huh wait what I can’t hear you lol . So what does that make you... anericanboo lol the clothes and name brands were made by who ... I’m waiting lol 😂 huh huh
Whenever I learn a new language I totally immerse myself in the language and culture, for example I'll only watch movies in my target language and I'll try out mannerisms, habits and and foods that are typical for that country. I've done that for all of the eight languages I speak. I feel like that makes me grow as a person because it makes me more open minded and more experienced. At the end of the day I suppose I am kind of creating my very own culture, a mix of all cultures I've come to love, including of course the culture in which I was raised, which is still the one that means home to me. So does that make me a boo of every country or does it make me no boo at all 😂 I just love the experience of living in a totally new way every now and then
