They don't make them like they used to. Frank Sinatra was such a smooth crooner. This is before auto tuning. Artists had to be really able to sing. And the lyrics were clean, romantic & really meant something.
Schnell, the one word you are missing in your nice Sinatra reaction...and it's a very important one. SWING! Frank swings like mad. And it's not just the great band arrangements. There's a certain timing that infuses every phrase. In Frank's heyday there were big jazz swing bands everywhere. Swing was king! The 'rock and roll' of his time. It's not prevalent today, so a lot of the youngsters covering this great song can sound good singing the melody, but they don't really make it swing. If you listen to more Sinatra you will get what I'm puttin' down, LOL. Great reaction!
I absolutely love when you do the singers from 50+ years ago...there are very few singers today that compare to them....boy, what they have missed. Sinatra is one of the GIANTS back then. He was on top of the heap for nearly 30 years. He drew crowds like the beatles used to have. You can always hear every word he sings... known as a "crooner". It's obvious from your reactions that you love MUSIC, so continue on the olden days journey through the 30, 40s and 50s !! BTW, your reaction was spot on !!
Once, "Old Blue Eyes" was the epitome of "cool," along with "shark-skin" suits, midnight-shades, shiny-long-black Lincolns, and vodka martinis at the "Sands."
For all mankind is a show all about nasa and space travel and the main character is a huge Sinatra fan. I’m disappointed that I never predicted they would use this song in the show, but they did and it was perfect. Whenever I hear this I get chills I get from for all mankind season 3 episode 2
There is a video of Frank actually recording “It Was. Very Good Year”…..Swedish TV was doing a profile on Sinatra and were in the studio when he cut it with a live orchestra….if you want to see a master at work please react to it.
What amazes me is how many times people, like reactors, will say that they've heard many covers of a song, but not the original. Btw, love your enthusiasm.
Hi Schnell! Great reaction to Frank. May I recommend "In the Wee Small Hours"! The song is all about atmosphere. The orchestration, lyrics and vocals. A lost art!
Great reaction👍! Sinatra, the leader of “The Rat Pack” , “Chairman of the Board”. Classic crooner , jazz, saloon big band singer and movie star. Take care
Listen to his swinging, swaggering style truly takeoff on the hit, IVE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN. I recently joined your channel. I like your personal singing, positive energy and enthusiasm for the material you react to. Might I suggest a few songs for future listening. NEITHER ONE OF US by Gladys Knight and the Pips on the Midnight Special. FOOLED AROUND AND FELL IN LOVE by Elvin Bishop on the Midnight Special. IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR by Frank Sinatra. It shows Ol' Blue Eyes recording the track with a small audience. The clip is black and white, but the music is rich with texture and warmth. Just a few ideas from a new listener eager to watch.your channel. And you are a beautiful human, too.
This song was written in 1954 by Bart Howard. A singer named Kaye Ballard was the first to record it that year. Sinatra's version, from 1964, is probably the most well-known version. Enhancing Frank's excellent voice is the Count Basie Big Band (the greatest band in the land!) behind him. Frank's first recording was All Or Nothing At All, 1939, billed as Harry James Orchestra Featuring Frank Sinatra, who was 23 at the time it was recorded. I've Got The World On A String is another great one from the 50s. So very, very many great songs to discover when you dive into the Sinatra rabbit hole!!
Schnell, you need to do Angelina Jordan's 'Fly Me to the Moon ' rehearsal video when she was asked to open for Quincey Jones 85th birthday celebration. The rehearsal is with a London Big Band and some of the London Symphonys string section. She was 12 at the time. Can you imagine having the opportunity to perform with that caliber group? She doesn't have to imagine it. It seems like it is the same arrangement that Jones did for Sinatra and the Count Basie Band.
You gotta check this young artist and her crew put a spin to this song ‘ Fly Me To The Moon”!They gave it a unique vibe and twist that will truly grab your attention, makes you wanna get up and dance, trigger all the ‘I want more’ senses in your body. Loved and enjoyed the performance by all from start to finish! Put a big smile 🤩😍 on my face. Highly, highly recommend reacting to it! !
oh man, Count Basie's understated notes, emphasizing the SPACE between the sounds, just slay me in the first few bars of the intro. see him spar about notes and space with his amazing contemporary Oscar Peterson, who was known for filling every space with notes: ua-cam.com/video/2HAZP7nWo6A/v-deo.html
In the early days of Foxwoods Casino, I had earned player points to get two tickets to see Frank Sinatra perform. My son-in-law was a huge Sinatra fan so I gave the tickets to my daughter and her husband. In the years since, I have come to appreciate Frank much more. Schnell I also greatly enjoyed your cover of this song which you just premiered on your music channel. ua-cam.com/video/JplnrvpfSvQ/v-deo.html
Hi Schnell i just noticed your eye make up specially on the lower side of your left eye is not properly done compared to the right side of your eye. It looks unequal. Has anyone noticed this? LOL!
Now watch little Chinese phenom Miu Miu play this in bossa nova style on the guitar and try to sing the word "Jupiter...". Cutest thing you have ever seen!!!
Please react to the best riffs and runs you'll ever hear: EMOTIONS - (c) Destiny's Child | Elaine Duran Covers: ua-cam.com/video/856JxL0bHVQ/v-deo.html
@@ClandOp The one Schnell already reacted to is the one on The View and the link you posted is a performance. I want her to react to the Music Video Angelina did at a young age with a white horse in the video. It is the best one and the one that melts my heart over how cute she and the horse are. 💓💓
His diction was so perfect......as I get older I find myself gravitating towards the older Masters......
Incomparable breath control and phrasing. He builds a song like telling a story. A beginning. middle, and ending.
His phrasing was a key element to his style.
yes!
I was lucky enough to see Frank perform in Las Vegas and he was magnificent !
With the amazing Count Basie Orchestra, superb.
My favorite song by Sinatra is "It Was A Very Good Year". So, if you want some more of today's flavor, I would love to see you react to it.
This swung so hard. Great song by one of the greatest interpreters of a generation.
and one guy you NEVER messed with EVER!!!!!

You said the magic word! SWING is the exact musical word that describes the rhythmic pulse that propels the best.
He was a master of phrasing

I've loved Sinatra for as long as I can remember. It's high time someone showed him a little love. TY
I believe "My Way" and "New York, New York" are his two biggest hits. I especially like "My Way."
GREATEST VOICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a very good year was a great Sinatra tune.
His phrasing was astonishing.
It’s been said that he learned phrasing from Tommy Dorsey and the way he played the trombone.
The greatest singer.
Once, "Old Blue Eyes" was the epitome of "cool," along with "shark-skin" suits, midnight-shades, shiny-long-black Lincolns, and vodka martinis at the "Sands."
Witchcraft, Nice n’ Easy, and every song in Frank’s movie “Pal Joey”

His album at the Sands is great. I feels like an occasion.

Also one of my favorites

Class meets class. Sinatra and the Count Basie Orchestra.
My mother told me that the teenage girls used to scream at Sinatra’s appearances, just like they later did for the Beatles.
Greatest singer on the planet, period.

Iconic voice

my favorite Sinatra song is The Summer Wind, maybe not as well known as some of his other songs, you should check it out.
I was lucky to watch sinatra concert at The Folk Arts Theatre during pres.ramos time.

Dino rules!
Gorgeous, your husband has to feel the luckiest man alive because ... HE IS!
It’s not just Frank… it’s the Count Basie Orchestra arranged by Quincy Jones
Sinatra is King of swing!... Like Elvis is King of rock!
I think you'd like his song "Moonlight Becomes You".
I love it
If Frank could see you now, he'd be thrilled
Count Basie and his orchestra helping Frank get to the moon….
Frank was an icon, and a world class crooner. Angelina Jordan is the female Sinatra
You should look up Luck Be A Lady Tonight by Frank Sinatra
Frank was the leader of the famous RAT Pack. His voice could charm a snake!
Back in the days when computers were not there to improve your voice. Frank, Elvis and Tom Jones succeeded because they were great performers.
The word you were looking for I think is boa. Great choice, great review!
Chairman of the board
He was a crooner.

Now try Angelina Jordon`s version with the same Quincy Jones arraignment. You'll think it`s Frank reincarnated as a girl.
Please react to Gigi de Lana’s interpretation of this song.
Wait can you react to Marcin fly me to the moon?
Enjoyed your reaction. I’m guessing that Squid Game is responsible for the new interest in this song. 👍😎
More likely due to Michael Buble's cover. It's been covered on tik tok long before squid whatever.
Hi Schnell i just noticed your eye make up specially on the lower side of your left eye is not properly done compared to the right side of your eye. It looks unequal. Has anyone noticed this? LOL!
5:51 I fell in love with you
Loved the commentary. Just want to add, the title of this song is "In other words" fans gave it the title "Fly me to the moon". Frankie didn't care. ❤
Try Nat King Cole Lush Life song
I bet. you can't sing it with the some amount of soul and feeling.
Now watch little Chinese phenom Miu Miu play this in bossa nova style on the guitar and try to sing the word "Jupiter...". Cutest thing you have ever seen!!!

Hello, please listen to Mohsen Yeganeh's song "Bemoon", this is a great song; Thank you from Iran 🇮🇷🇮🇷
Schnell, young Angelina did a live and a better Music Video of Fly Me To The Moon (which included a horse). PLEASE react to the video with the horse.
