Hi Ed.... I really like those coasters... the blue resin is lovely... all you need now is a river table to put them on !!! ... take care...All the best.....Andy
Those are nice, Ed. You could glue a round block to the blank and turn most of both sides of a round coaster. Use your Cole jaws to clean up the remainder. You could also glue up a bunch of scraps and turn a random pattern bowl or platter. Just a couple of ideas. Stay safe. Bill
Hi Ed, A definite Thumbs Up on this one. The coasters are fantastic. The resin works so well with the grain of the wood. Great video Ed. Take care. Cheers, Huw
Pretty cool Ed. It may have been just as good to use those little stick on dots for the underside. They come in felt, rubber, cork etc. Like they use to cushion cabinet doors. I haven't turned anything in months. I did make about 6 bat houses. A couple of 3 chamber and a few one chamber boxes. Sold a couple but hopefully they'll be holding the Make A Wish dinner auction soon and I can donate them. Great for barns. I got one I put up at our range and it's always full. One chamber is bats, the other chamber is wasp. Been that way for years so I guess they cohabitant together okay.
Thank you Ed. Another great idea. I've wanted to make a river table but no place to put it and resin ain't cheap. This solves the problem. What a great idea.
Thank you Rick! I'm right there with you. I've got a few slabs and would love to make a river table, but I'm scared to even look at how much the resin would be. Have a blessed day! - Ed

That’s a brilliant idea, Ed! It’s just a small amount of work to make money or gifts from what would have gone into a fire pit.

ed what are the dimensions of the coasters like the width of the space in the middle for the resin?
Very pretty. My husband made some similar from scraps of the cutting boards he created. He clear coated epoxy on the tops and felted the bottoms.
Thank you Jane! - Ed
