- We took a brief look at the BOSS ME-25 Guitar Multieffects pedal when it was introduced at Winter NAMM 2010, but there's a lot going on under the hood of this compact floorboard. That's why we headed over to Roland / BOSS Corp in LA to enlist the help of Johnny DeMarco. Johnny knows the ME-25 inside and out, and if you want to know what makes the ME-25 different from the previous ME pedals, this is the video you need to watch.
Retailing for under $200 at most dealers, the BOSS ME-25 is an impressively powerful little unit. And Johnny's an impressively skilled guitarist -- keep watching through the end of the video for a sample of Mr. DeMarco pushing the ME-25 to its limits.

If you are still having trouble with it check out ua-cam.com/users/PetesGuitarUniverse He does a few easy to follow instructions for the 25. There is a LOT of functionality packed in this pedal and getting to it can take some getting used to. If that still doesn't help then post what you'd like to know. It's such a great tool when you find how to make it work for you. (also "Direct Recording Guitar" channel does a bunch of me 25 demos too).
I really wonder why people are tripping over this dudes voice so bad. He's a fantastic guitarist. That's what this video is about. Comment on the playing, not his talking.

@GuitarinJersey well, you can allways assign every factory made channel on the pedal the standard clean and put in it the effects you desire. If you need distortion, use the one on your amp.

How do you get the 'pedal FX' light in the top right to come on? I have read the manual and I cant seem to work out how to use the Wah or other effects
Hi.One question. Can you change between two specific presets without going through all of them with the "up"- "down" buttons?
I'm thinking either to buy this or Boss GT1.Which is good&easy to use?
Also can you plug the headphone out strait to a speaker?
If you have an extra guitar cable or a headphone jack thingy and put it in the phones thingy on the pedal it will make the pedal sound extreamly better

Can the unit be completely bypassed without disconnecting it from the chain? And if using the usb interface option does it have direct monitoring via the headphone and/or L/R ouputs?
I get great sound even at high volume but when playing with a drummer nobody can hear me, no matter how loud I turn, do these processors take away from my tone? is there a correct way to run it to avoid getting drowned out in the mix. I'm playing with 2 100 watt half stacks very loud in stereo but my tone seems muddy but sounds great when I'm alone, please any advice?

I have a problem with my ME 25. when I change variation , it hits the max volume automatically and practically kills my ears. it happens even if the volume knob is at lowest. somebody please help! I'm extremely frustrated with this product! thank you

how do I edit the pedal FX? the manual says to press on the pedal firmly, but it doesn't work
Press down firmly on the toe (top) of the expression pedal. The light next to 'pedal fx' should light up or start flashing. :)
JayDZ how do you switch to the other pedal modes (freeze mode, +1 octave, etc)
Chris Munro you go into edit mode and then hold down the pedal firmly. The light will start blinking. Then turn the variation switch to the one you want

this pedal, but sometimes these
multi-fx units have an option,
to "optimize" the output, for either a guitar amp, Or some other line source...I would look in the settings, probably for output of the device

Just press down firmly on the top of the pedal. That should do the trick.

+Dags Bulahao In Germany it costs 179€, I want to buy one along with an Boss PSA 230S 9VDC power supply(alone it costs 30€ but together with the ME-25 it costs 199€).
It's battery powered and it's attached to an AC cable. -.-

Damn..I was thinking of getting one of these..looking for a looper, but this is just as much as the Boxx RC-3 looper. So I figured Id get more for the money here...after about 6 different reviews, I think Ill just go with the looper...the distortion on these sounds horrible!!

It makes a quite good clean sound, but all its distortions are awful.
These demos make me want to stay away from multi effects pedals, as they all sound exactly-the-fucking- same! Can we get someone else to demo these effects so I dont have to hear the same thing over and over. Not everyone plays metal . No offense johnny, Im just tired of seeing your curly locks all over gear demo videos.

They are only pedals for Rokeros,nothing special, nothing good and expensive bad sounds bad,they are well trained and are looking for good guitarists to do their demos, and so be able to fool the public
