Amazing! Thank you, I e just dusted one off after many years. Now I know how to use it 😎just need to learn to play guitar now 😂any recommendations which is best way to start all over again?
Thank you for the great tutorial. I hace the ME25 onits way from e bay. Got a sweet deal. Cant wait to play with the parameters. Ive owned the Gt6 and Gt10 in the past and many of the Digitech line up. This multi seems very user friendly.
I have the ME-25 and a question if anyone can answer... on the lower right hand side of the video, Pete shows the parameter settings he uses, however, I don't understand the "EQ" setting. Under which of the "sound librarys" do I find this? I'm not finding EQ under "Preamp"
Please comment on ME-25 vs GT-1 or other newer mfx pedals in this category and price range if you experience with any such as Valeton 200, Mooer, Donner. I have owned the Me -25 for 6-7 yrs but always felt to tones were not satisfactory. Purchased the first version Katana Artist and now I have the Nextone Special. The Nextone has 4 tweakable analog amps, delays, distortions, and reverbs and of course effect loop. I mostly play clean NeoSoul R&B but need gain distorted sustain for solos in worship music and wah for blues and funk. Guitar is my hobby and I only play at home for family and friends with backing tracks recording myself.
@@kentbernard9842 the GT1 is basically newer in design, but there's a charm to the ME25 and it's (now) retro interface that many love. The shift to the GT1 would not be a massive leap, but its connectivity would be an improvement for recording direct etc. Donner and the other similar prices emerging brands all seem to be roughly the same technology in different (or even sometimes the same) package / interface. Sonically, they're all on a level playing field. But, consider things like resale value and durability. Boss have one of the best QC departments in the game, so cheaper alternatives are often considered to be a risk due to their cheaper manufacturing, components and construction. If you get a good device it's all happy days. But there's a higher chance of unreliability down the road. Buy what you can afford and take care of it. Experiment with sound and everything in your signal chain. It is possible to sound pro on a budget.
You have to assign a sound or parameter to it via the method of assigning FX in the video. Some patches will have pedal, others won't, depending on what you want. There's no switch or latch on it
Very cool video, just got one of these and I’m still figuring out how to edit all the parameters exactly the way I want them. Primarily using this as a replacement for my old pedalboard in the context of a coverband that plays a few originals so I need to nail other artists tones as well as create patches that combine multiple FX for when I need them. Using an Epi les Paul custom through an orange 35rt/Marshall mg100hdfx thru a 1960b cab.
Great setup. I bet you can cover a lot of tones with that rig. Decent multi FX pedals are really the only affordable way to cover such territory. A lot can be done with a smart ear and a bit of imagination.

Hey there, good video. I thought it was possible to change the location of each patch somehow? As in if I wanted to swap the #13 to the #52 position? Any help there?
hey, i was wondering if i can use the solo footswitch as a ctrl button, like if i have a clean patch then i stomp on the solo footswitch it turns on the distortion, can I do that? (sorry for my bad english, its my second language)
Yes, you can have it set like a stomp box on/off switch mode. But obviously that limits how many fx you can have based on the number of foot switches it has.
Hello Pete, Cool video. Thx. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me.I have Mac os Mojave 10.14.6. I see that the last update available on the Roland Driver site is 10.13 / 10.14 but I see it say 10.13 while I'm downloading. Anyway, I tried it 3 times and it doesn't work. Any answers?? @@PetesGuitarUniverse tnx sir. how's it work? because i want to play a cover song without having changing my guitar tuning in flat key. coz its a floydrose double locking system.
Usually, wide open, fully clean and dry. Control the tone and volume with the ME25. Then you have maximum headroom. If you have a valve amp, you may want to add a little OD on the amp and then drive it harder with pedal patches.
Thanks for the reply. Wouldn’t there have to be a limit at some point due to memory constraints? I guess the answer could still be “more than you’d ever need to use”.
@@ScottyTheGeo as with all loopers, when you stack up many layers, the first do decrease in volume slightly, as it tries to keep the most recent intelligible. But it's perfectly useable for most typical looping
Can more than one effect in the same group be used at the same time? e.g., tremolo(6) and chorus(1) are both in the group MODULATION, can they two be turned on and in effect at the same time?
@@PetesGuitarUniverse I really liked the song you played at the end with all the looping part. I agree the ME-25 is the sweet spot in the Boss line up of multi-effects units.
The straight up no BS answer is... The ME80 has more flexibility, so more access to more patches. That might be good for some people, but it costs more. If you REALLY need all those features, then the ME80 is s good pedal. For most, the ME25 has enough going for it to make it a sensible choice

Definitely use the dummy jack. But even better than that, use the headphone out jack direct to the PA, if you want true stereo FX output.

does the Boss me-25 has stomp box mode? I mean being able to turn on/off certain effects while playing without changing patches. Thx !
Yes, for sure. That's what makes it so versatile
