I got an M61 pack recently from a friend's market for 5 bucks. Sadly, the internal liner is was cut out at some point, but I still like it. And it only costed 5 bucks so can't go wrong.
@Inbush 1969 I think that is a LC-1 ALICE Butt pack the D rings are a dead giveaway. The LC-2 ALICE Butt pack is way more shinier than the first version which came out 6 years after the M1967 in 1973. And the M1961 also was still in use off and on by US troops in the 80's and 90's. And that would actually be another story in it's own.
Hey buddy how are you? Question for you.... What is those side grommets for or the purpose for it? I am trying to understand the whole system I just bought one today and I am curious. Thanks
@@Inbush-cx6tt I think mostly canteen and bayonet on the M1910 hookups the M1951 Etool carrier actually can reside on the handle. and instead of the poncho under it you can put a M72 LAW tube on the bottom of the Butt pack.
I have a CANVAS patterned M1967 butt pack. I have no idea where it came from. It's not stamped with any identifying markings. It's old, else I would have passed it off as an obvious fake (I mean I think it's a copy anyway, but the age puts it before faking kit became popular. The buckles are also not as good quality - seem quite thin to me). I am lucky enough to own a couple of real M1967 butt packs to compare it against. I think I have all the packs you show above (but I'd have to pull out my sets to have a look). Great video!
@@Inbush-cx6tt I took pics today - you have a Facebook page or somewhere I can send the pics? I took pics of the butt pack and my two M1967 webbing sets.
Hey, could you link any pictures or references for that, I was looking at that as a setup since I don't feel like shilling out that mich for the frame and lightweight/tropic ruck

I wish people would realize that except for maybe 2 backpacks, all of this stuff was used by the entire U.S. Army everywhere it was stationed.
