I was in the Army from 86' - 91'. After Basic and AIT we were allowed to customize our rigs a bit as long as we had the basic required items present. I doubled my magazine pouches to four and added a butt pack which we were not issued, also a 2nd. canteen/pouch/cup &stove. I also added the first generation IFAK. I attached my bayonet inverted to my left shoulder strap where my coumpass and pouch were attached as well.

great tip that rubber inner tube trick,didnt know about it,keep uploading more videos about setting up alice and USGI gear in general,stay safe
