I’ve used an old thinkstation s20 before on windows 7, it ran really well with a xeon x5675 and r9 290x. No doubt it will take windows 10 like a champ. It probably can still run many games despite it being very old hardware in today’s standards. My main pc has a gtx 970 though and im surprised on how well that held up ngl. It’s a great card.
Nice, I'm still using the i7 4790k with the hyper 212 cooler. Got it paired with a RTX 3090 lmao. Huge bottleneck if I want to utilise the full potential of the gpu but I haven't bothered to upgrade my whole pc yet
I had i7 4790k on asus z97A with 240 aio and 4.8ghz oc then "upgraded" to a r7 2700x oc all core 4.1ghz and my performance was worse lol 🫡 The 4790k was beast
so its not a 10 year old pc, its a pc with 10 year old parts
good build bro!
Thank you 😊
Im shocked that the GTX 960 bottlenecks the i7-4790K. That CPU can still probably pair well with GTX 1070 even. What a monster of a CPU still.
It surprised me too haha

Old components can surprise us sometimes haha. The x58 platform was a beast
I'm still using your old CPU, i7-7700K and a 1080 Ti. I still don't know if I should upgrade or not.
I guess it depends on your use case, but 1080Ti's are awesome
Oh for sure upgrade. i5-11400F is barely any money these days and can run any games today.
I still use my i7-2600K@4.4Ghz which i built in 2010. It runs fine for 1080p gaming even in new titles.

Holy cow that's gotta be the biggest bottleneck I've heard of, I wonder what the difference will be like when you upgrade 🤔

Wow haha I'm surprised. 4.8ghz oc must have been crazy
