I LOVE our Constellation so far, only had it for a couple of weeks now. I have found what works the best for us is to use ME1 for the projector feed since we keep our cameras up in the room for a large majority of our services, then we use ME2 for the stream. Only because ME1 has the option to use the PGM feed of ME2 not the other way around. I tried routing an output back into an input to reverse it but it caused a small but very noticeable delay in the room. It's SO nice to be able to have a tighter shot up on the screens in the room when on the stream we may be hanging on a wider room shot a little longer. We have the Constellation and the ATEM Surface Control panel as well. This upgrade has been a game changer!
Yes, I completely agree with your setup. We ended up getting a 4 M/E to handle the number of outputs we needed with respect to ISO recording (to a ATEM SDI Extreme ISO), computers, projectors, announcement feed and talkback for our cameras. We needed one more than the 2 M/E. :-( It's amazing that one device does it all. We also use the stream decks to control everything and really, we're still wrapping our head around the sheer number of possibilities we've got. I'd love to see how you're handling the different layouts for your lyrics to the various feeds. We've done it several different ways on our campus, and still aren't 100% happy that we've chosen the right method, yet. We use different looks to go to different screens, and they are split out from the same PP7 instance over a decklink card to the switcher, with one view going to the projectors and the other going for key/fill to the livestream. I'm just curious to see how others are doing it.
So much more flexible this way. During Covid-time we ended up with an ATEM Mini Extreme for our overflow area, and a base-model ATEM Mini for the main screen at the front. And a whole bunch of HDMI splitters. It actually works nicely (using Companion, with that in turn being triggered a lot of the time by MIDI signals from Proclaim). But a 2 M/E switcher would be a whole lot nicer next time everything gets reworked.
Im drooling for you having a sound booth. My mixer seat is next to the drummer. I have to switch to airpod pro time to time to mix in house and livestream at the same time.
Great video. This video came out at a perfect time. How are you getting the individual sources including the MV to show up on ME2? Are you using your 12 outputs to do so? Thank you.
I'm assuming you are streaming in 1080p 30. Which monitors are you using for multiview on the ATEM constellation 2ME? I'm trying to find monitors that are compatible with 1080p 30fps (HZ)
It’s not an independent mix effect. Basically, you can’t have an aux out look too different because using the aux replicates the ME 1 rather than doing something independent. For example, a wide shot of the room works for online, but that doesn’t make sense for in person. They already have a wide view.
So I think it all comes down to the needs of the church. For example, for a couple of our campuses, we will run full screen graphics in house, and since ProPresenter is already sending a Full GFX output to our ATEM, simply assigning the Aux output that feeds our screens our Full GFX works. We still send an alpha keyed feed with lower thirds to our switcher and do all of our online switching with the 1/ME. Obviously not every church needs or should use IMAG as it can be real awkward in certain spaces. I think what this video doesn’t explain well is the concept of different shots with a 2/me switcher. If you aren’t needing different camera views in house, and just full screen graphics, which frankly it appears this video demonstrates, a 2/ME switcher is almost overkill. Don’t get me wrong, there is a time and place! Our larger campus just ordered a new 2/ME Constellation because we run IMAG in house and send the feed online, and we want some more flexibility in what is seen for audiences.
Hey Jake, a little late to the party here, but can you send announcements to the lobby and then send the program feed to the lobby on command with this setup?
How would you get your Apple TV on your stage display with this setup? Is it as simple as creating a macro to change the output in Atem control then adding that macro button to your stream deck in companion?
Can somebody help us with our church setting if we are going to use the Atem 2M/E constellation? We have two Mac Mini's (one for pro-presenter and one for live stream). We will be using the Stream Deck as well for control. Two (2) cameras also to capture live. My question is how can we connect all of these and produce video output for Stage (confidence monitor), one (1) projector for congregation lyrics with moving background (center stage), and two (2) projectors at the side, showing live feed with lower-thirds lyrics. I think we need a drawing of the cable routing for this solution. If you have one, this is truly appreciated. Thank you.
Are you still using the DuoModo Rackmount with xMac mini and Echo III Modules mentioned in your portable rack set up. Also you used to use Resi what made you change to boxcast?
I really learn a lot from your Videos and am a huge fan too. But I have some questions too. Like what device should be used for communications in Church and how does it work please
You've been a blessing. Thank you. Is your livestream cameras same as the source you record for archives? Do you have different cameras for livestream and in-house recordings and displays?
Did you need a scaler to capture the Mac and ATV feeds? I recently tried to install the 2 M/E Production Studio 4k thinking it would support multiple resolutions, but it did not.
oh and one would be shocked of how many pastors use the tithes to invest in their own businesses. nothing wrong with that but when your people are struggling that is a big problem.

We've been using our Aux outputs to do the same thing with our screens on our 1M/E system.
Would love to know how everything was set up and connected on the 2M/E Switcher.. Great set up! 🙌
Also what monitors do you guys use?

Stream decks, beautiful setup and Nice work!
Awesome, but I wish you showed us how you wired it to work this way.
Where did you get those little drawers for IEMs and things?
I have the same question lol
Nice updated look. Congrats on the detailed work.

Can't you just use aux outputs from the switcher for the screens?
I do that for three of our campuses
Yes you could, but you don’t have the advantages of other transitions than a cut or individual key or DVE settings.

Have you tried integrating your hue lights into lightkey?

How are you routing your signal to mirror your desktop? Awesome setup!
They are most likely mirroring an HDMI output from the Mac that then goes to an SDI converter and then to the switcher.
Are you still using the DuoModo Rackmount with xMac mini and Echo III Modules mentioned in your portable rack set up. Also you used to use Resi what made you change to boxcast?
How did you get audio from the AppleTV to your soundboard since it's running via HDMI to SDI (on your Constellation 2 M/E)?
how to you restore your media pool every boot of the atem constellation hd
I really learn a lot from your Videos and am a huge fan too. But I have some questions too. Like what device should be used for communications in Church and how does it work please

How are you taking the audio from the Apple TV into your sound system and onto the live stream?
What if you wanted the middle screen only to have software and the sides cam
Did you need a scaler to capture the Mac and ATV feeds? I recently tried to install the 2 M/E Production Studio 4k thinking it would support multiple resolutions, but it did not.
Appreciate the insight!!
How are you outputting the desktop to the switcher? Is it through a DeckLink card?
Awesome video! How are you sending the desktop feed to both the desktop monitors and the switcher?
One hdmi out on the Mac goes to the monitor and we use a thunderbolt to hdmi to sdi converter for the switcher.
@@Churchfront bet. This.
@@Churchfront tyyyy! love yalls videos btw
Is your propresenter computer also running lightkey?
What’s the brand on that organizing drawer?
Thanks for sharing this video - which encoder are you using ?
How does cable run work with M/E 2 if all inputs are SDI??
Jake, with the Constellation HD, you cannot achieve 4K resolution, correct?
Correct, only 1080p full HD
I really need to figure out my stream deck and ATEM combo. There was no ATEM system build ... so is it a mod?
Bitfocus Companion, God's gift to church techs
Can you record ISO??
Does anyone know what kind of black labels those are at 1:05?
It's a shame it doesn't have dual stereo inputs, much less XLRs and RCAs
I agree about the dual stereo, but those TRS jacks save space for the BNCs. Plus, it's not hard to make a cable going from TRS to XLR
@@micahwagoner6114 That's true, but still, it takes away the ability to mix two sources
What SPL do you guys run at your church?
I do 78-88, best fit at 83dBA
Does this switcher do 4k?
No only 1080p full HD
The 4ME version does 4K but it’s a significant jump in price
❤
Ooo thanks 😊
Where do these tiny churches get all this money holy moly lol
this is why I don't pay tithes anymore it goes to building churches rather than God's people
oh and one would be shocked of how many pastors use the tithes to invest in their own businesses. nothing wrong with that but when your people are struggling that is a big problem.
Why do you need ambiance ? Lol weird
