I would love to try this! Making it and then Eating this. I like that it doesn’t have milk because my husband is lactose intolerant. I saw in a Chinese drama that I am currently watching and the bother of the main girl had black sesame with walnuts. And she mentioned roaring the seeds as you did. I know that brings out the flavor and the oil from the seeds. I hope I can find black sesame seeds. Looks so delicious. Thank you for sharing!
It's delicious! Thank you for the recipe :) I usually get it in a box at my local Asian markets. The box I get is labelled as "black sesame porridge" and a health food. It comes in a lot of single portioned packets. So, your recipe is helping me to reduce the waste I create when I buy it :)
Also wanted to say that I am so proud of you for taking the initiative to make a vegan dim sum cook book! 🤗💜🥰💓👍💪 I hope many people enjoy it, & you deserve all the success from it! I’m going to get one soon !! ☺️
East Meets Kitchen Omg that’s so exciting!!! I wish I were in London 😭😭 Keep up the fantastic work! 💗💗💗 You are promoting yourself but you are also promoting a plant based diet...Saves human & animal lives ❤️👍 so it can only be a good thing 😇🦋💞🥰
Betting this dessert soon begins to show up in all the trendiest food venues. It’s beautiful in its look (darkly sheek), must be phenomenally tasty and has possibilities for reimagining with various toppings. By the way, fantastic work on your cookbook! It’s my one stop source for all things dim sum.
there is a korean dish that is very similar made for breakfast, as a snack for studieing children or sick people, when ever very exessable energy is needed, it is like the queen of porridge ^^ I realy love it ^^. It is prepared with a bit of salt and might be slightly sweetend, but only a little, nowhere near the amount of sugar added in the chinese dessert. Heukimjajuk is the korean dish called, or black sesame porridge in english
I love this series!! Black sesame is my most recent obsession. I bought an amazing black sesame dark chocolate bar when I was on vacation... omg I wish I got a lifetime supply it is so good haha.
When you mentioned a black dessert in the comments of your last video I thought it was going to be something made with black rice for sure! Never would have guessed black sesame seeds, but now I'm curious what it tastes like!
I just found your channel and I'm obsessed! I've been binge watching so many videos and this one reminded me that my mom used to make this when I was little and got me totally nostalgic! Looking forward to future videos
Beautiful look! I bought your dim sum book. Wow! I'm thinking this recipe could be used as a stuffing for a dumpling? Or would I need to adjust this recipe in some way? Thanks love your art work with your food!
just tried this recipe. it was too plain so I added some salt and more sugar to the soup and I also added sugar to the mochi. In my opinion I think that 3 cups of water is definitely better because if it was 2 1/2 cup then it would be too thick. Thanks for the recipe! I really enjoyed it
Was my question dumb? 😣 I simply don't presume the same amount of powdered sesame seeds equals the amount of whole seeds the recipe calls for. I'm using powdered black sesame. Do I use the same amount of powder for this recipe? Please reply, thanks.
Are you kidding that looks absolutely gorgeous, like black marble. Weirdly it kind of reminds me also of crushed oreo pudding. I'm curious as to the difference in taste to black sesame and white sesame seeds though. It's funny,I just finished successfully making vegan vanilla pudding using cornstarch and I was thinking of what other kinds of flavors I could make and behold you have a pudding recipe up. It was kismet. Now to find some black sesame seeds.
East Meets Kitchen Ah right I’ve found that to be true. Hmm 🤔toasting I have heard brings out flavor, and the sugar could cover any bitterness. That’s a good description.Yeah, something like dirt cake is what I think I was thinking of.😁
East Meets Kitchen True, it’s just that you said fa sung wo so I thought you can say tang yuan :p also try putting peanut filling and black sesame filling tang yuan in fa sung wo and zhi ma wo. So many variations of desserts and sooooo yummy too. That’s a video I’ll def watch :D
I saw this sweet on a Chinese series (put your head on my shoulders) & wanted to try it out. Thanks for the recipe 😊👍🏻
Lol that's y I'm here😄
Me too
Mee tooo 💜💜
That's exactly why I am here!:)

Love black sesame seed paste! So nutritious, very 补 . Looks easy to prepare. Thanks!
It reminds me a little of Atole de Pinole. I bet it's amazing when served warm, but is it best served at room temperature or cold?
can you share with us the grinder that you used? Thanks so much!
Looks delicious. Does this keep well in the fridge?
I just made it. This was so yummy. I could really taste the toasted black sesame. The texture was perfect. The sweetness level was just right too!
Loving these simpler dessert recipes. Would white sesame work in a pinch?

Thank you. What kind of a grinder is that? I would like to find one.
Wow it’s so easy to make!! Thank you for this video
What if I'm just using black sesame powder? How much powder and rice flour then?
This gave me so many ideas, very creative.

Can we use cornflour instead of rice flour?
YUM! reminds me of my childhood in hong kong :) def wanna try making this!
3/4 cup how many grams? thankyou🙏🏻
White sesame is quite intense in flavor, especially when toasted. I am so curious what this actually tastes like, i can only imagine Tahini. 😯
So easy !! And healthy 🤗💓 thank you ❤️
i had this dessert and it was so good im so happy I found a recipe :D
can anyone recommend any sweeteners that i could use?

Black sesame is considered to have more health benefits according to traditional Chinese medicine

Please stop adding the "s" to "anyway"... the "s" on "anyway's'" is not grammatically correct, simply say "anyway"... :)
