Barbra's voice is incomparable and so beautiful in range and emotion.
She must be one of the most wonderful and unique singers of all time.
She is. She is a miracle. Her voice is an instrument.
I can’t stand how much I love her.
I think it's time for me to have a Barbra Streisand movie marathon! What a career she's had, and what a beautiful soul she is!
I love all her films, but my favorite, FAVORITE one is *"The Mirror Has Two Faces."* I _highly_ recommend that one!
I adore Barbra Streisand but the best part was Evie’s off camera “yes!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️
I like this girl, because she's been the captain of her ship since she was young. She's authentic and real and makes no apologies for who she is. She sees herself as the girl next door. I'm reading her book and I'm just getting into listening to her music. Thank you for sharing, your life with us.
Barbra is the only artist ever who has received the Directors Guild of America, Academy Award, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts, and Peabody awards, as well as France's Légion d'Honneur and the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award
And the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
I think she may have a Grammy or two as well

There was a commercial being done in Central Park with Stephen years ago, just as his star was rising. They needed a portrait artist to draw him. I was chosen.
I can tell you he was polite, warm, and charming. He's a classic case of "what you see is what you get". I have no doubt Barbra enjoyed her time with him.
What a pleasure that must have been. Congratulations 👏👏
I believe thst Stephen is one of only few people who could possibly, respectfully and intellectually interview Ms Streisand. What a genuine treat. Thanks to you both for allowing us this joy. I have tears of joy 🫶
CBS has a great interview too.
Why? shes such a pre-medonna being so sensitive about one small mistake, like who cares what the media says and why is she so special only one person in the world can interview her. holywood elite weirdo
Howard Stern interviewed her last week
It’s just shit.
Love you both!
I love Barbra Streisand. She is the most iconic, gifted and talented singer, actress, songwriter, concert and movie producer, concert and movie director, filmmaker and an author. She is a legendary and a truly DIVA.😍
Wow ❤ she is so wise, beautiful, funny, charming, incredibly talented and extremely exquisite.
Thank you or doing this interview! I've been a fan of Barbra Streisand since I was a little kid. For Jewish girls my age, she was our Jackie Robinson. She will always be a touchstone.
What a fantastic show devoted to interviewing a true living legend. What an honor to you Stephen that Ms Streisand chose you to have this rare conversation with. Meshugina is great word
Not really part of her audience, but just a single line from 'Memories' and it hits right in the feels. One of the greatest songs sung just perfectly.
So hilarious I only have watched Funny Girl once but HELLO DOLLY!!!!! I watch that every year with Yentl ❤❤
I am overwhelmed with this amazing interview with THE Barbra Streisand! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
And yet, *the highlight for me was hearing Evie's voice at the end!* 🤗🥰
I’ve loved you for a long time Barbra Streisand. I’ve watched all of your movies and I have aMuch respect for you thank you for telling it like it is
I started taking classical voice lessons in 1979 and I remember my teacher, while teaching me how to hear proper tone, played Streisand records for me. She noted that she was the ONLY person on popular radio who sang using proper tone, phrasing, and breathing. She is a living treasure❣️❣️❣️
She has such a pure, beautiful voice.
So happy “she” wrote her story! So misunderstood and unappreciated! Your natural treasure USA!
I adore Barbra. Extraordinary in every way. I also love that Evie was there on speaker. Stephen: “Am I stubborn?” Evie: No hesitation, “Yes!”😂
Yess, more Stephen and Barbra, pleeeease 😊. I like that he doesn‘t take it too seriously but at the same time is very respectful. As he should be 🧐😉
I can't believe Evie Colbert was in Arizona and I didn't get to accidentally bump into her and let her know how she makes me smile!!! I KNOW y'all enjoyed Sedona, it's magically gorgeous.
Stephen Colbert is the only one who has the approval of interviewing Barbra Streisand. Both amazing 💫
I was going to write the same thing .
Your world.
She's been doing interviews all week promoting this book
As well as Gayle King and Howard Stern, and...
Howard Stern was very good he treated her so good!
There are four `A Star is Born` movies, and her and Kris Kristofferson is my favorite. Great movie and the soundtrack is timeless. Beautiful soundtrack.
Her version was gut-wrenching, wasn't it.
Not many people can make you emotionally feel like them, but Barbra has the ability to let us hear her feel like us.. And for this goy and millions of others, Babs has had that talent from the beginning. All the best love to her and her family.
She has the most beautiful hands. I've always said that. Love her ❤
Like butter
So great! The comedic moments are classic! and the poignant ones are memorable.
Imagine how much longer it woulda took to write that book without the pandemic!
Happy 30th you two lucky kids you!
Love the interview Stephen! ❤ You guys are so adorable! hehe 🥰😍
Great book - amazing how much work goes into making movies.
My favourite bit is Evie's 'yes' :D
😍😍 loving this !
😂 Knowing Evy was just off camera was great😂🎉
Well done Barbra Streisand. ❤️💚💛💜💙🖤🧡
Barbra can make me miss musicals. A comedic, musical, dramatic icon of my youth. 💗💗💗
Streisand, the great thinker of the 20th and the 20 First Centuries. We should all seek out her brilliant views on politics and the human condition. She's so well versed in both - she thinks Joe Biden is smart and has done a good job. Her only question is why isn't God solving the problems we humans have created for ourselves. Why hasn't He or She (whichever?) fixed the problems caused by human nature and turned this planet into a paradise. I'm amazed she hasn't solved these problems herself. God forbid we lose her if Trump is elected. Yeah, right
His only show worth watching. Love Barbra Streisand. Can’t wait to read her book. ❤ Been a avid fan since 11 yrs old
He brought Evie with him!
I hated the laugh tracks in this. It seemed a little disrespectful and didn’t fit this great interview at all.
Barbara is so amazing and one of a kind!!!
Thos cut scenes between the segments were hilarious. "You don't think we got more Babs? THINK AGAIN." Lol.
My perfect 🎄🎁❤
Five Time Oscar Winner Composer John Barry was hired by Director Barbra Streisand to compose the music to her film…Prince of Tides. John Barry wrote his scores at his home outside of New York City..Oyster Bay..and this was right after John Barry won his 5Th Oscar for Dances with Wolves. Barbra Demanded that John Barry..move from Oyster Bay to Los Angeles to compose Prince of Tides! John Barry turned Down Streisand to move to LA..Barry told Streisand ..Absolutely Not! ..Streisand said she wanted to see his Progress on the Music he was composing for Prince of Tides! John Barry said on a Morning Show in London, England it was a non stop constant of Streisand asking what has Barry Composed..and Barry told Streisand that after seeing her film, that he will go away and write music where they agreed to place music cues..and all of his Composing would be done at his home!
John Barry said Barbra Streisand would not stop hounding him on his progress..mind you all..this was just a few weeks agreeing to spot Prince of Tides…Most Composers including John Williams..will go off and start writing music themes for the picture and a few weeks later get back to The Director and play some possible themes for the movie…Barry was in this process…and The Constant Barbra Streisand hounding Composer John Barry moving to LA and what music he came up with…John Barry said that he told Barbra Streisand what his major routine in composing film scores were..and that he needed time to write out the themes and cues…Barry said that Barbra Streisand said he Loved his work and it was amazing that he won Five Oscars for Composing..And John Barry said..and Yes Barbra I Won Five Oscars..Without Ur Help! And Told Barbra that he didn’t want to compose Prince of Tides!
I know Barbra Streisand was The Director and Star of Prince of Tides..but..She should know what the Massive Process was and Barbra was at the time Dating Composer James Newton Howard at the time..and got the gig after John Barry quit.
John Barry had completed one major piece of music for The Prince of Tides..that he reused for Across The Sea of Time and Moviola …..Later on..Orchestrator/Piano Player David Foster played on Piano.. for Barbra Streisand John Barry’s Flight Over New York City from Across the Sea of Time…Barbra Said it was Beautiful and asked if the music had lyrics..David Foster said it was John Barry’s Flight Over New York City from Across The Sea of Time! Barbra said Nothing! After saying how Beautiful it was…
Here is John Barry’s Beginning to Prince of Tides..as The Siblings Run and go Swimming

If Only Barbra had not Pester Composer John Barry!
Respect to her for being her own person !! Strong woman. Not talking to the media - good for her .
I always had a serious crush on Barbra in my youth after seeing "Hello Dolly". What's funny is, a few years ago, I discovered in a conversation with my brother that he also had a crush on Barbra after that viewing of the movie with our Mom. Great minds DO think alike. LOL
I'm a Taurus, too! ♉️ I love the Taurus handshake!!! 😊 🦬
alright im taurus too.. very stuberned 👍👍👍👍
Great to see Barbs is still suffering from TDS😂😂😂😂 TRUMP 2024!!!
Barbra and Stephen are both Taureans. I knew that about Barbra. I'm a triple Taurus! Outstanding company.
Can we get a round of applause for the “Part 1” labeling of the vids? 👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳💞💞💞🤟🤟🤟
I just finished her memoir. Excellent. It took awhile because it's very detailed, but well worth the time. She's amazing, a treasure. Love her.
I don't understand why the audience is laughing so much. Barbra Streisand did NOT write this book to be a joke, although she does address things using wit. She wrote it out of her earnest feeling that she needed to correct many things that have been incorrectly assumed about her as well as deliberately distorted . She also shares in this book many of her thoughts and feelings about her life, her delight in life and in wide ranging subjects, her creative process in just about any direction you would care to learn about it, she poured herself heart mind and soul into this book and it is quite rich in detail, and in praise for so many people she worked with. Where there is criticism it is muted and one has to admire her beautiful tenacity in life, in her art. Stephen is of course a comic and also a sincere person. I just want to reiterate Barbra Streisand is not a joke. She was and will always be a most serious artist and one who should be respected. This whole book and the audio as well are rich in commentary, and a living tapestry. It is unequalled in terms of memoir I think altogether. It is a beautiful gift and done with the generosity of spirit Barbra Streisand has always shown from the very beginning of her multifaceted career until now. She deserves more respect than this. And it is extraordinary that she shared so much of herself with readers. And not in a superficial manner.
Barbra is higher that a kite!
Had no idea she spelled her name like that till now lol
Haha that's awesome, I'm a taurus too. Good to know I'm in good company of other taurean meshuganas 🤗🤘😄💯❤
So I just finished the audio autobi..I find it stunning that she doesnt have any friends outside of hollywood, other movie stars, record producers..NO other friends outside that circle..thats ODD> like the groomers? the grocery store manager....you get what im saying...I mean shes seems incapable of ANYTHING outside that circle....I love her voice but find her STRANGE.
I’m a longtime fan and I do love her but I sort of liked her a little less after listening to her book. Still love her and still love her music of course
Gaga should play her in a biopic
"Evie, am I stubborn at all?" I died. That was hilarious.
🤣🫶🏾 As a Taurus I can confirm…we’re stubborn af. hahahaha
BARBRA ❤❤❤❤❤
A remarkable interview opportunity!! Babs is a great catch! 👍
Thank you, Jimmy, for numbering multiple episodes
What a privilege to meet Barbra and receive an interview. How can you ever top that?
I'm glad they numbered these segments. They should do that for all their interviews.
She shouldn’t have done these interviews to be edited into six minute packages. The one with Howard Stern was the one where she said everything and got in depth. This was nice but the book is enormous, bigger than platitudes.
Agree. This was cut too much - that's why we hardly hear answers to his questions.
Stephen Colbert 🤮
Fantastic Interview of the Legend that is Barbra. She is my biggest Actress influence. It’s my dream to work with her on a film. Thank you for this, Stephen and crew - it was beyond wonderful!

❤❤❤❤❤LOVE TO BARBRA
R.I.P Luther Vandross 🕊🕊💚
Luther did vocal arrangements and backup singing for Barbra early in his career. Barbra was heavily influenced by the soulful sound of black singers like Dionne, Patti, and Gladys. ❤
I’m listening to her read her autobio. She never forgets a perceived slight or any sense of personal injustice (to her). She is humourless and insensitive to there’s. Myopic and self serving at all times. That said, she is the voice of the 20c
First of all - it's just your impression. "She never forgets a perceived slight or any sense of personal injustice"? Aren't we all like that? Humourless? She is a comedian. People who've worked with her always say how funny she is, how down to earth, Watch her duet with Melissa McCarthy. Watch Meet the Fockers.
@@patricedecourcy4505 she was indeed a great comedienne (in her youth esp), but in her personal life she is humourless. All opinions are ‘personal’, but mine is based on having listened to her recite almost 50 hours of autobiography.
@@bojack40 I've listened to that book but my impression is different. Have you seen her interview with Howard Stern?
Barbra Streisand is the most ICONIC DIAMOND in the WORLD! ❤
She was suppose to leave the country when Trump was elected in 2016.......
The bulky chairs and low coffee table look very cozy. Barbra Streisand certainly thought of something to make the interviewer as uncomfortable as possible. Stephen Colbert sits very awkwardly in those ugly chairs.
She is a great singer, actress and director, but, bless her heart, she has never given an interesting interview.
So you’ve seen every interview she’s ever given? Did you think that it was the interviewer not asking interesting questions?
@@Hubbell42 1. Yes. 2. No.
Extraordinary, other worldly talent is Ms Streisand. Stephen definitely has “chutzpah!”
❤I just love her❤Fantastic person❤the one and only❤love from Finland❤❤❤
My name is Rebecca Jennifer, with all the credit for that going to Barbara Streisand and her song "Jenny Rebecca" ❤
Did not know that Jackie O asked her to write a memoir decades ago and only now was it time. That's gotta be a life accomplishment to say you turned down Jackie O.
You are not using the word chutzpah correctly. It is not a compliment.
I think there's a little of "the old guy" from _The Colbert Report_ coming out here.
Streisand appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show within the last decade, and they even sang a formal duet together. She also appeared on Bill Maher’s show fairly recently to discuss current events. She doesn’t do many interviews, but Colbert is hardly the only one.
I agree that Barbra Streisand is one of the greatest singers of all time . I have all of her recordings . But sometime I think she is Too much of a perfectionist even in singing . I mean it doesn't come from the heart as much as the perfection . Know what I mean ?
What a diva. She called Tim Apple to complain about Siri mispronouncing her name. And he had the late show do a house call.
I'm a diva too. I called my internet provider because on my bill my name wasn't written correctly.
I'm surprised she hasn't tried to cancel her own book to get some of that Streisand Effect.
Great interview but audience laughter unnecessary and irritating.
Hope she's got her bags pack..
She is willing to leave the country in terms of what she feels is stress. She is willing to leave behind everybody else. That’s the kind of person she is. Even though there is no problem with Trump as president whatsoever, she is still willing to allow everybody to live in a pretend horror story that she can afford to not have to live in.
@@LOSTONITALLBoo hoo. She’s rich, I’m not. Boo hoo.
Love Barbara, but sounds like she has a lot of hang ups.
This woman has a great voice do a lot of good things this woman is a legend ❤
thank you for including which part is which ‼
I love Stephen, but either he did not really let her finish her answers in this interview or it was badly edited.
I loved the Barbra interview
🎉❤🎉When ❤
She is plotting to become Mecha Streisand
I love that one Japanese song she is in, truly mettalic performance, love the chorus:
Bar-bura, Bar-bura,
ichiban kirai no hito.
Bar-bura, Bar-Bura,
hana ga ookii.
Bar-bura, Bar-bura,
sugoi na bitchu da.
Bar-bura, Bar-bura!
She looks like she needs rest. To get out of the spotlight.
OMG HE TOUCHED BABS!
😆
He's not kidding - the audiobook really IS *48 hrs* long. ?@!?@?@?@?@? I hear that it's terrific but wow! that's a long book.
Nobody is talking about Eve!!! Hello? Is this Stephen's home? Is she cooking lunch, and what?
Hello Barbara long time ❤❤😂🎉
