Stephen Colbert brings his signature satire and comedy to THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, the #1 show in late night, where he talks with an eclectic mix of guests about what is new and relevant in the worlds of politics, entertainment, business, music, technology and more. Featuring bandleader Louis Cato and “THE LATE SHOW band,” the Peabody Award-winning and Emmy Award-nominated show is broadcast from the historic Ed Sullivan Theater. Stephen Colbert took over as host, executive producer and writer of THE LATE SHOW on Sept. 8, 2015. - Розваги
The fact that she got Steven to admit that the number he was always thinking of is an odd number just tells you how much Steven admires her. I don’t think he would’ve done that for most other guests.
You can be sure the number has something to do with Evie. Or possibly his Dad and lost brothers.
@@JG-vq6rd He doesn;t have a number. That way he can always say "wrong". It's a bit.
@@Mozart1220 why would that be a “bit“? You don’t think it would be more entertaining for someone once in a while to actually get it right? If everyone gets it wrong all the time because he changes it, it’s not a “bit”, it’s not even funny at all.
@@JG-vq6rd probably correct in that assumption.
@@Mozart1220 you got your opinion but I'll stick with mine.
That snake was like, "Wait...is that Barbra Streisand???"
lol- probably wanted an autograph
lol hilarious
hahahhahahahaahahah
😂😂😂
And then envenomated itself as Barbara rambled through another answer.
That was definitely the deepest dive Colbert questionnaire I've ever seen. Watching Barbra think and speak so elegantly and eloquently is an amazing experience.
Such thoughtful answers. ♥
She reminds me of that favorite aunt that everyone has who always tells the best stories. 🌹
Yes, not many give such thoughtful answers.
She's just amazing. ❤
Shes worth 430 million yet took 200,000 in taxpayer funded ppp money to pay her gardner. She's disgusting.
Oh my. "I look forward to peace." I have chills. What an amazing person.
I have always liked Barbra Streisand but now I just love her! She seems so down to earth and so kind.
Barbara is a beautiful deep thinker. Imagine being her and you get to listen to yourself sing any time.
I love her.
God no.
I was just going to write, "THAT was DEEP" when I saw your comment below mine! Great minds thinking alike!
Absolutely true, but when she talks sandwiches she's still a kid from Brooklyn.
@@bryanergau6682, well then maybe you can imagine this, imagine being a decent person in this world and when they hear someone say something that obviously means something dear to them but you happen to not share that sentiment or maybe you even wholeheartedly disagree with but instead of being an ass you just keep your mouth shut. i’m going to imagine that for you.
The Questionert is my favorite segment, in general, but this was special. Barbra is so wise and wonderful. A national treasure and a true living legend❤️
The snake following her was saying "Hello Gorgeous!" 😂🌹❤
I love her. This is the first time I found myself taking notes. Got to try Envy apples, that turkey sandwich, and listen to the duet with her son.
Same
I want to try that sandwich and listen to that duet too (because I also ADORE that song), but I'm honestly surprised that anyone (at least in the US) hasn't heard of/tried an Envy apple... It was developed in New Zealand in 1985, and introduced to commercial markets in 2008. Being such a fan of NZ, I'm CERTAIN that Stephen has at least heard of it.
Usually eat Galas so I'm def gonna try an Envy. And Barbra...Clorox my least favorite smell too.🤭
My local Aldi had envy apples a year or so ago and she's not kidding those things are delicious and massive!
@@spencerkagen1386 I have seen them in the supermarket. I just haven't tried them yet.
81! OMG she is flowing with spirit!
She is so very much herself. I forgot how quirky. Delightful.
She said she loves the sound of her son’s voice, I just smiled. My son passed away 15 years ago when he was 27 and I think I miss the most is his voice.
That’s beautiful Kim. My mom has been gone for 40 years, and I treasure the memory of her voice waking me in the early morning for school when I was a little boy💜
@@mobypierregoldberg4326 I really miss hearing the word mom. I do believe we will see them again
Dang you Mike Meyers!!
Each and every time I hear, or see, something about Barbara Streisand, I remember the SNL moment she actually showed up and just surprised the whole crew including Madonna who was there in that sketch and I hear him (her) say: "Like Buttah!", still cracks me up after all these years. Barbara Streisand and Buttah go hand in hand.
Out of the blue I was thinking about Barbra the other day......I love that she keeps living a long and happy life.
She looks amazing.
Granny Gropert blames Barbara that GG is so despicable 💙💙💙💙😂
She looks marvelous. I want her plastic surgeon @@RendaJane
Meanwhile...this is still my favorite segment. I love Stephen's joy in his eyes, when shooting down the most famous and influential people's hopes of guessing the number right.
I think the answer is 1993, when he married Evie!
she exudes warm wise witch energy love it
I totally get that!❤
@@courtney-rw8ch Myself!
omg she's a witch? what is witch energy though? is it like she has the power to put spells on people?
@@peterdavino4408 Oh my God. Is she part of a coven?? Do they have a leader??
I love that Ms. Streisand’s favorite smells are babies and roses. The Barbra’s Baby Rose story is wonderful. And the fact that she sneaks oranges is so funny. It’s like she’s sneaking an orange and not telling her esophagus. That is a great sense of humor right there. Her appreciation for the beauty in life is palpable. Barbra Streisand is pure magic.
I’ve always loved Barbra, she’s a fabulous women, and so so talented. My husband many years ago bought me her Book called: “My Passion for Design”. Ohhhh I highly recommend it, it gives you another insight into one of her many talents. It’s so worth the purchase if you like “Design”! 😁

I love how she really takes her time to seriously think out these seemingly trivial questions! 🥹☺️ They are so adorable together. When the first segments were released, I was longing for some more heartfelt moments with them… finally, this clip is it. If anyone wants to get to know Barbra’s mind, I would recommend the audio version of her memoir - it’s actually a breeze and a joy to listen to. So intimate and revealing of a complex and beloved icon for all these years. 👏🏆💝🌹
I LOVED the audiobook and didn't want it to end. Gonna relisten too. Also highly recommend her 2.5 hour recent interview (now in full video) with Howard Stern. If you don't have Sirius, you can get 3 months for $1, then cancel... just make sure it's the Platinum version that includes Howard Stern.
I love the audible version too- i'm so sad I am almost done- i might listen again. actually I'm definitely listening to it again.
@moviebuff5230 I def will...I feel like she's right there in the room with me having coffee and talking.
I read her whole book. Her answers to this short interview is why her book is almost 1000 pages. Love her so much. ❤
She is one of a kind. Good to see her laugh. Stephen Colbert brought out the best in her.
I have to say, I'm Jewish and gay, and grew up with Barbra but never saw Funny Girl until this past week. Her book is the most entertaining and insightful, inspirational and truthful autobiography I've ever encountered. I completed the audible version and can't recommend it more. I say Barbra Steisand is a treasure of truth and I am grateful for her devotion to all she loves. Thank you Barbra! And than you to your husband Jim.
Thank you, Barbra for Funny Girl. And all the rest that there is no way I could possibly describe how much you have changed my life for the better even though there was no way I could sing your songs at karaoke because you are simply the best.
The 5 Words always tell so much about a person. Keanu ❤
She knows she has absolute power because she talks as if the listener is just going to sit there until she’s finished. 👸
and i'm so glad he did🥰
As a young boy in Texas, your movies provided such creative escape for me, that I can’t thank you enough. Those great musicals and comedies will live forever. And those great LPs: stony end, Barbra JoanStreisand, butterfly, etc..
I have always loved Barbra Streisand. She's still a beautiful woman.❤🎤🎶
I have always loved her and still do my favorite is memories ❤❤❤❤
Ah, the VOICE! The blessed, incomparable Barbra! Thank you for all you’ve given & continue. God Bless You.
I want the rose to be called Second Hand Rose
she would love that! how clever
Good answer!👍
Barbra would love that one & you should call her up and tell her!
Very respectful to Stephen how she gave careful consideration to each question. I admired that.
You have to love Barbara. And I love the way Stephen handles this. Made me tear up in the end. My parents loved Streisand and they are aging in significant ways now, but I'll always remember the songs they loved.
THAT was Deep! Barbra is one classy human being! I could tell she gave the questions some thought, and she offered interesting answers! Always classy!
Barbra is a great singer with a divine voice that no other singer can even come close to ❤
Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion did a duet that will give you chills.
Love them both. Barbra was maginificent, and Stephen was high-class.
Stephen: What number am I thinking of?
Barbra (should have said) : The same number I'm thinking of but cannot say out loud.
God I love them both.
Gotta try Honey Crisp apples! Love, B. Who doesn’t have a personal rose breeder?? 😂
I just heard Barbra and her son sing that duet on her Back to Brooklyn special on PBS. Amazing. ** I look forward to peace, too.
Honeycrisp are my new favorite
That was fun! Good job Steven!! Love you Barbra! 🎉❤
Great lady my favourite movie of hers “What’s Up Doc?” 😊
She endlessly fabulous. She shared an insightful, sweet or funny story in answer to each question. Love her.
I was kinda hoping with the scariest animal question Barbra would just sing "people"
That would always be my answer
that's good!
Exactly 😂
hahahaha
Scariest animal ? Human obviously.
My mother asked how I could be so fearless about living in the country where there was so much wildlife like bears and snakes. I said wildlife was just looking for a meal, and wouldn't kill me for $20. She just stared in disbelief. It's true though.
Barbra is the most talented artist in the world. I just love her!
Again... apples are great with peanut butter.. but an orange section dipped in chocolate beats it silly with a stick.
Exactly!
Ew, but enjoy!
But apples are much more versatile.
@@joycehurst7883 if the question is versatility or what makes a better pairing with peanut butter then I guess an argument can be made for apples. However, when they are standalone comparisons, based on flavor, oranges are the hands down winners. Apples only win out when it comes to pies and pastries and even that is dependent on lots of sugar and cinnamon.
Oh how I love everything about her! ❤ Love how her mind works! 😍💖✨
Wow... Barbra's energy and soul really shine through, it's incredible to behold! Amazing ❤
❤❤❤❤she could write 9 million words & I would love it ❤❤❤❤
❤❤😮 we finally got a clue ODDS.. thanx Barb after all these years we got a crumb 😅😅😅
Love Streisand! Learned my love for her from my father. No one can make me more emotional than her. Her voice, her music are transcendent! ❤
Her answers! ❤🔥
Barbra. My dream star. She’s awesome.
This old woman has a natural grace with her. Besides, she is the best singer human being has ever had.
Did anyone else notice that he only asked 12 questions not 15. The most glaring omission was “What happens when we die?”
I wonder if Barbara got to edit out questions she didn’t want to answer? Hmmm.
Finally, the answers that Barbara did give reminded me a lot of the way Henry Winkler answered the questionnaire by adding so much back story to many answers.
I've never noticed before, Barbara Streisand has the most absolutely graceful hands! 😍✌️
she's very well known for her nails, aside from her amazing talents.
🎉 HAPPY NEW YEAR STEPHEN COLBERT ❤💖 Ms. Barbra is amazing 👏 Happy New Year one and all 🥰
Is it just me or did Barbra seemed baked 😂😂😂
haha. sometimes she does, but maybe it's because she is 81 yrs old? I think she's adorable
Envy apple developed in Mr Colberts beloved NewZealand as the result of a cross between Royal Gala and Braeburn apple varieties . Now grown in both hemispheres .
Interesting side note . Braeburn apples were originally from a natural mutation seedling named after the orchard it was found on , Braeburn Orchards , Motueka ,Sth Is. NewZealand .A major fruit growing region where a lot of Horticultural research takes place .
@@chambielion70 That *_is_* interesting!
I've been combing through comments trying to tell people that Envy's have been around since 2008 (originally developed in 1985)
But I'd love to hear what kind of apples the Braeburn's mutated from...
@spencerkagen1386 I am not certain, one source says it is the offspring of Delicious and Sturmer Pippin with Lady Hamilton as a sibling but I see elsewhere it says Granny Smith and Lady Hamilton .As I live only 5 min drive away from the area if it wasn't nearly 2am I could probably get the info from the actual orchard 🤣
@@spencerkagen1386 will get more accurate info for you tomorrow .
@@chambielion70 if you wouldn't mind following up on that, I'd love to hear the definitive answer! I live in WA state, the undisputed home of apples in the US. Though I'm not a farmer, I do love learning about them!
One of the best of this segment so far .. she is divine and Stephen plays off of her so very well .. I could see them both in a great play .. boy that would be awesome !
"I look forward to peace"... Beautiful.
I always loved her singing and I appreciated her as an actress but there's something different about her I think she's really really down to earth as someone mentioned and she has a very soft sense of humor about about her. It's good to see people that you don't normally see make a little joke and smile and laugh.❤
Time has come again and love is the the wind. 🥀
That was one of the best Colbert Questionerts
The Questionert doesn't mention if you have to listen to the same artist doing the song throughout time .... lots of cover songs by numerous bands could fit into that idea nicely.🎶😁
That is always, just so touching; this short interview between Stephen and legendary, Barbara Streisand... brings me to tears, every time I see this clip... Thank you
SC: 'Window or aisle?'
BS: 'Oh on the planes?
Me: 😂
I was driving home from Canada with my family a couple of weeks ago and to kill time we gave each other the Colbert Questionert. Fun and illuminating pastime. We all felt known by the time we got home.
One of America's Treasures! I'm so glad I got to go thru life watching her from the beginning to now. ! God Speed . ECF
Barbara and I love the same apple lol I keep telling people those Envys are incredible.
Cliff Robertson played JFK.
Thanks Barbara. Thank you for all you've done. I think I'm going to go to my theater room and watch hello dolly now.
I HAVE listened to her and ( her son’s) Jason Gould’s duet ( I have the CD) he has a gorgeous voice and the duet is WONDERFUL ♥️♥️♥️
Wait. What happened to the question, "What do you think happens when we die?" Does Steven no longer ask that?
Good point! He asked that of Matt Damon not too long ago and I loved the answer. "We go home."
Just finished her book. All of it. It confirmed all that I had hoped it would about Barbra Streisand and straitened out the many unbelievable untruths that have been written. about her and Jason. Seeing Jason for the first time recently in a you tube clip. What a credit to you he is.
As a very young man, I first saw Barbra at our local cinema in the film Funny Girl having no idea who she was. I was and still am, smitten. Since then, her voice and acting has never failed to give me huge pleasure.
Best job on the quiz
I'm curious about myself, that every time I see a Barbra Streisand interview or a concert of hers, I tend to go to my music library on my smartphone, look for her and listen to her delicious and sophisticated music. IMHO!
Nothing wrong with that!👍👍
I always loved Barbra! I share her name - Barbara Joan ! I grew up singing her songs and watching her films - such an inspiration and very funny, too!
I'd love the autograph question to lead with someone pulling out a paper and a marker and asking Stephen for his autograph.
I would just sit and listen to her for hours, which I have already done with her audiobook for almost 48 of them.
me too!
I love Ms Barbra. Her career and honesty of purpose.
Why did her last answer make me cry?
because it's heartfelt and she really means it
The most beautiful hands of a woman I've ever seen and still today I couldn't take my eyes off them when listening to her... they never get old, even with the natural aging they are beautiful the same... utterly elegant, deeply expressive, gently hypnotic.
I still have all her albums on vinyl (some belonged to my mom, biggest Babs fan I know) and very much enjoyed the Colbert Questionert. Why? Because Babs, she's like buttah!🥞
I love her involved answers!!
Barbra is just a beautiful miracle of human nature. A work of art of talent, intelligence and resilience. I wish everyone knew how amazing she is.
The doors she opened for singularity, individuality, different beauty standards, women, raw talent…
These are the things that put her on the map when she was barely 19 years old.
Colbert is ok but boy if I had Barbra for an interview would I ask her better things than who’s the best kisser and boy would I not make fun of her when she answers so eloquently to what animal scares her the most.
I've often wondered if I could ask her 1 question, what would it be? What would yours be?
@@moviebuff5230 lovely thought!
So many!
I would diplomatically remind her how she made a self degrading joke about her work on Meet the Fockers once then after I had also reminded her that her favorite of her films seemed to be dramas (Funny Girl, A Star is Born, The Way We Were, Yentl and The Prince of Tides),
I would tell her that I think her comedic talents are unparalleled as featured in Funny Girl Whats Up Doc, The Owl…,For Pete’s Sake and The Main Event and how I wished there were more of that Barbra on film. After that long introduction i would ask her what she preferred drama or comedy and ask her what she thought of AI and the idea of her being in movies generated by AI since she cloned her dog Sammie.
I would also want to know why she never speaks of The Guilt Trip. (Not a great film but she’s not known to shy away from the truth). I would ask her if she regrets it?
I would also inquire how she felt about starring in a great film in her 80’s where she plays a Grand Mother whose sisters and children and grandchildren reunite for a summer holiday for her birthday starring Cher, Madonna, Ariana, Mariah, Beyonce (the adopted daughter) and Taylor Swift if Scorcese were to direct.
I would also want to ask her with all due respect how she became so wealthy by singing other people’s songs (she wouldn’t explain no doubt).
My list is endless.

Love her so much, and have my entire life…
Saw her sing live in Madison Square Garden in the 90s, and I still get chills when I remember being in the same room with that voice…. Jack Nicholson was there, front and center, and she sang to him On A Clear Day, it was incredible…

If you like dark meat on a turkey, I hope you've had the chance to try wild turkey, their dark meat is reminiscent of roast beef, only it's a bird. The meat btw is so dense that even though a bird is tiny, it feeds a lot of people, like bison.
I remember finding thornless roses that I found in the wild, I was shocked to realize that they produce almost no flowers. The real trick to making new varieties of stuff is to try to minimize bad traits, you often get multiple terrible adaptations associated with something really good, this is part of why we graft so much stuff (and have been doing so for many thousands of years, afaik the first thing we grew from cuttings were mutant figs that couldn't self-propagate, we've had seedless grapes for thousands of years apparently, generation after generation of exceptional clones). Few things are more impressive though than what the Natives in NA managed to achieve with their breeding programs for field crops, 2 of the most important (and high-yielding btw!) crops are field corn and potato, neither was especially usable in it's original form and humans turned them into marvelous sources of nutrition. Technology doesn't have to be gunpowder, it's no secret that after the West pillaged the New World they had a population boom, and a big reason for that was much better farming due to exposure to 2 whole continents where people were simply better at it, even without iron or dray creatures.
I have always loved Barbra's voice, how couldn't you? But more than anything it was the fact when she was BECOMING famous she refused to change things about herself (her nose in particular). It was a bold statement "I'm here, and you are going to have to take me as I am." Pretty powerful stuff!!
Loved that interview ❤️. Thank you Stephen🎆 Happy New Year🥂🍾
I LOVE Barbara Streisand! She rocks!!! Her movies are so wonderful “One A Clear Day” one of my favorite with Jack Nickelson. What's Up Doc with Ryan O’Neal? Her movies are classic!
