The metal heatsink on top stays cool to the touch with active air circulation. I was thinking of grabbing light bars or rails for supplemental lighting on the sides in my 4x4. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance 🤙
thanks for the honest review I was going to get two of theme for my 8x4 grow tent i'm glad i came across your video idk why so many grow light companys are dishonest what grow light do you recommend for a 8x4 grow tent?
Companies don't consider it dishonest because their ratings will work for some low light crops, just not weed which is what we all know people buy these for lol. Your best option will be the bar style lights. Chilled x6 is my top choice, discount code j2g. Then after that there are just a ton of companies selling almost the same kit. Spider farmer 7000 bar kit is nice, discount code justintime2. Mars FC6500 also, discount code J2g. I've reviewed quite a few bar 4x4 lights that work great in that space.
There adding two of these lights in an 8 by 4 tent with all the goodies the tent temp gauge yoyos and 10 5gal pots and the Carb filter for $120 plus shipping is it worth it or should I just get everything separate.
Just bought a 4x8 kit from vivosun, came with 2 of these a carbon filter fan kit and the tent for 585 with a coupon. The lights cost more on their website than the kit did with a coupon on ebay. Going to end up with 1500w in the 4x8, i have a 400w vivosun light that came with a smart tent kit, i think it was 525 545 $ for a 4x4 400w smart kit with 4 a100se's for lighting and then i have 2 a150se's for 1500w i really like the aero lights they have
I just bought a 4/4 /80 grow tent and attempted to use what grow lights i had on hand however im not getting very good results,,,what is minimum size light i need to have a successfuly yield this year
I would definitely go bar style for even light spread. Size wise your looking for a light just short of 46 inches length and width. I would recommend anything 600watts or more
Not too sure of your meter is right i tried 24in at 25% power which I think they went with a new driver and my seedlings stretched im at 12in now and they love it no way 60 watt difference made a foot difference
What is more logical, my meter is wrong or you bought a light that has less output than this one they sent me for testing? I have 7 PAR meters. They're all wrong? 😂😂
@@Justintime2grow mine has 25 50 75 100 yours doesn't go as low as mine like I said maybe different driver is why but from what I see 24in is too far and cant cut it for seedlings even at my 50% it stretches

Really nice intro. Not too loud, not any specific annoying genre of electronic. Nice seamless transition from the animation into the logo. I dig it. I'm hunting for something good for a 5x5. All I have is a SolarXtreme 250. It's supposedly only good for 3x3 which will do me just fine, for a couple weeks. So I can't decide if I should get a cheap fixture that's big like this one or just get 3 more SolarXtreme 250s. The benefit of just getting a whole different fixture would be I'd have an extra light, for a 3x3 veg tent in order to keep things turning around, allowing me to expand from 3-4 harvests a year to 6-8 harvests a year.
Thanks. Check out my reviews of the Spider farmer SE7000, Growers Choice ROIE720, HLG Scorpion Diablo and Chilled X6. Any of those would be fine in a 5x5.
Hey there ! Out of all the lights your tested what’s your best recommendation for a 5 x 5 tent please ? Do you think the Spiderfarmer sf4000 is enough? Or much better guaranty the Spiderfarmer SF5000 , Spiderfarmer SF7000 ,Spiderfarmer SE 7000 ,or marshydro FC 6500 ? thank you very much it would be amazing help for your opinion ☮️
they got no name quantum boards like on ebay for 450 dollars that uses 301h samsung diodes and meanwell drivers, its so powerful i had to raise it to 3 feet in flower, weird vivosun uses the same diodes must be a crappy driver and heatsink, good vid
A lot of those cheap companies have been outed for not using real samsung diodes. Quantum boards are only sold by HLG. Everything else is a knock off and you don't know what you're getting.
Better intro! Since the introduction of the bar style lights, all board lights are obsolete unless running multiple for coverage in 4x4 and higher. Well besides the modular WiFi light. Just because of the versatility of independent control. Love the videos man, keep up the good work!
i agree their tents are good but i have two 6" vivosun fans both loud the plastic vivosun inline fan is louder then their older models ,i think imma keep the vivosun tent and change out the fans to a/c infinity
So there is no way to dial in the exact wattage you want… just Click to the next setting? 😖 I’m sure there is nothing special about the driver… wonder how hard it would be to just hack and open up.
Awesome vid as always buddy , keep up the good work. Imo this company ain't serious about selling grow lights , they're serious about selling dreams with their outrageous claims. The sad part is that there'll be peeps purchasing these dreams.
Heya bud sorry about the mix up on the last video I should of edited after I saw you say on multiple video the height of the light tester I do apologize, and dam the handle broke on opening and on camera not a good start but I will watch and see your testing and review, yeah looked like a gfx box hahaha, wow glasses in the box that light looks really nice, that turned south really quickly, sad about the glasses being the wrong type and many thanks for all your testing and honest reviews bud, keep up the great content.
IR and UV are usually on lower end fixtures and they don't use nearly enough to matter. More UV than IR really though as some higher fixtures use IR. UV in particular burns out faster than cool or warm white so it's not great to have it in your high end fixture. Either way UV and IR are best done as supplemental.
@@Justintime2grow I have noticed that with the zeus range from lumatek as they are the only lighting company i've ever used. I still use the digital 600's, but i've just converted my T8's to leds for seedling/cuttings, and i've very happy with those as they only use a half the power the original tubes used. The big fixtures i'd need are just way out my price range as i don't make money from my hobby apart from a few seed sales
It won't do as well as a 600W HPS or 1000W HPS (Like all the Professional commercial Growers always use to this day) will I promise you that. I Guarantee that in fact. I don't listen to any 'CLAIMS' because Claims are not proof of anything, especially when nobody is willing to put there names to them. PS: You can get a 600W HPS for $120 too and you will never need to add any extra heat during lights on in winter either.
nice video i love what your doing :) , but for vivosun. i buy 1 time vivosun gear and i wont buy any vivosun gear anymore, its to cheap and the part or to cheap .I put 2 SF1000 or 2 TS1000 for the same price 10 time befor buying vivosun again
What ppfd meter is in use here and the light seems terrible considering the floor is reflective and a plant canopy wouldn't reflect so much back (needs a green floor), shame Because I like the look of this light
The attention to quality is pretty stellar for such a good price. It's a Sosen driver. I wonder how much percentage light would increase with the extra silicone removed. But yea like most QBs at 4 to 450watts its a strong 3×3 to 3.5 by 3.5.
Perfect light for a full cycle grow in a 3x3 or a nice veg light at 30" in a 4x4... I also recall their other model of led grow lights that had the blurple spectrum and I'm certain that's what those shades were originally made for... So I think it's smart to incorporate their outdated glasses with this fixture in order to make it seem like more of a bargain because hey, who doesn't like free shit right??? I imagine they don't sell too many of those type of shades anymore so why not use them to boost the sales of their current light? Nice one Vivosun...😉👍
I have apogee also. I got this meter to do spectrum mostly. My newer videos I use both. 4 apogee meters and this spectrometer. I got it direct from china for like $800 a few years ago.
Anyone thinks it's worth buying ? I have a Mars hydro 2.5 x 2.5 tent I'm setting up for a friend that's sick. Or another good reasonable price light, tht won't give her any problems. Thanks for any help !
Vivosun is horrible! There newer clip on fans suck. Motor smoked in 4 months. Bought a pair of trimmers and they busted at the handle screw, after trimming about 10 grams. Cheap ass plastic crap! Customer service don't care I've bitched and bitched and here I am. I gave up and chalked it up to a loss. I won't spend another dime with this company. I'd bet my ass those diodes are not 301h or B.

I just picks up one for 120 beans. I have a 4x4. I was hoping for better edges. Need a bar style I guess.
What is the cheapest good light/lights for a 5x3?
I have a VS3000 I bought last year. It's meant to flower a 3×3. I think I could flower a 4×4 with it. It's more than enough for the 3×3.

I got a 5x5 with one of these and two vs2000 do you think that will be ok. Vivosun does suggest a stronger light for their 5x5 the vs6000.

Just food for thought Vivosun recommends 18-24in for veg and 12 inch distance for flower
Lol then you would have zero edge light in a 4x4!
would you recommend this for a 2x4?
Got a vivosun 120x120x80 , what lights you recommend, I'm looking at viparspectra xs4000
