@@castawaytv yeah I know. But climate change is fake news. I got out yesterday on a small lake a little north of Kawartha Highlands. So great to be out.
I’ve just used batteries out of my boat so honestly I’m not sure the actual draw it’s has on them but I’ve never had any issues with power. Maybe I’ll do a test this winter on a smaller battery to get a better idea
Does the tent appear to be waterproof? I’ve seen reviews with the seems being terrible. I’d ordered it half an hour ago in fact then saw had received and have requested to cancel..
Me and a buddy are gunna be doing some ice camping Jan 1. We will be using a sunflower heater. My questions are how much ice would be safe to stay overnight on considering the heater will probs melt some of the ice. We currently have 4.5-5 inches of ice on the lake we wanna fish on
That’s about how much ice I was on on this video. Now all ice is different especially with all the warm weather we are having. Not sure if your from Ontario but the ice is getting very thin. Hitting it with a spud bar to check thickness and quality is key this time of year. Now the heater will cause a bit of the top layer to melt which is why I used the mats in this video it shouldn’t change your ice conditions as long as your on solid safe ice. I’d be more concerned with the safety of the sunflower heater. I’ll link a video here by Clayton Schick but these things can be pretty dangerous without proper ventilation and you may want a carbon monoxide monitor if you intend on sleeping with one. Made in China. The Chinese economy is not good. The news lies about it, just like everything else. So they are selling everything dirt cheap. What China does is get 10 year old patent's from the United States and other countries and make clones. A patent is only good for 10 years . I have a Stihl 660 chainsaw clone. Every part from a genuine Stihl will fit. Anyways that why these clone ice shelters are so cheap. The same one made here is north of $500, because of over regulation, taxes, and high wages.
I’d love to have the unencumbered freedom to spend Christmas Eve ice camping. Lucky guy!
It was a great to be out out there. It actually felt like winter! I got to go home to grass and a tropical heatwave lol

Nice setup! I got the same diesel heater but I found it wasn’t warm enough to heat up the tent. Not sure why.
Thank you! And that’s strange. I usually only ever use mine on a low setting and it always keeps it warm.
On another note: How TF is that pop up hut so inexpensive??
Honestly I don’t really know. It’s a great tent for the price point.
@@castawaytv it really is! I’ve been looking to go bigger. I mean I like my ice fishing buddy but not that much! Extra space would be so nice
