I see these things popping up everywhere in the NW - In Red Lake people have them in their garages just like you guys did, heck, Franklin remotely starts his from upstairs in his house to heat his wifes small garage up before she heads to work in the car. Lots of versatility with these & I find Diesel is a bit easier to work with compared to Gasoline - Overall less "explosive" concerns at least LOL Total game changer for you guys!
what i did with my heater was put it in a box thats reasonably sealed. then i have 2 holes for the vent pipes. then i can run a return into my shack. heater stays outside and still recirculates the air. just a idea.
Draw is 11 or12 amps for a couple mins at startup and cool down. 2 to3 amps whi.e running, 100ah should get 33 to 50 hours or runtime depending on how high you set the heater.
What size battery you use? Also how long did it last on one charge? I have a clam x600 just bought that same diesel heater im looking to get 3 days out my power source without charging or panels
@hunt4me80 ohhhh good. 😊 so far we like both. Next weekend will be going for four nights. Usually just two with no issues and we change our devices with it.
@@chasenashleyoutdoors7632 where are you guy's located I'm in Maine and bought my shack to make trips up to northern part of Maine so I'm not paying for cabin rental every time
I know you didn't show how warm the fish house got during your overnight trip but just seeing that you were warm in the morning ( with no headaches) was good enough for me. Thanks!

Thanks for watching again! They totally are! So far we like it! What a nice thing for your friends wife! Love that
I have the same setup.and I also have heater inside and I put a welding blanket over the exhaust pipe then put it through the hole of tent..and voila!
Awesome! Thanks for the great idea! I’ll be able to sleep not feeling like the tents going to go up in flames lol

Yes! We were also thinking about doing that. Thanks for watching and the idea :)
Awesome video guys
Thanks very much
I would heat wrap the exhaust :)
Yes! Thanks for the great idea. Appreciate it
How did that work out did you guys get oily and greasy?
No we didn’t
Great videos. Just wondering how much diesel you used at what setting you had it on to achieve 20 •c in the tent.
Thanks for watching. I’ll ask Chase and report back!
We burnt 7 litres in 27hrs. During the night it was pumping at 3hz. It runs from 1.7-5.4hz. So I’d say medium heat.
I see you had a 200amp/hr battery I wonder if 100 Amp/hr battery would work enough for couple nights?
Thanks for watching! We ran the 200 amp/hr for 7.5 days in the garage on various heat settings before the heater shut off . Hope that helps

Absolutely it would
Did you guys need a CO2 detector?
Yes
Would toy recommend for winter camping long term
Toy?
I have so many questions before I cut a hole in my thousand-dollar ice shanty
I get that
Does it it make that tick noise the whole time it’s running.?
Yes, but it sounds way worse with the camera audio
not sure if I got the bad unit or not but my diesel heater only kept my tent around 15C on max heat.
Ohh wow. Is it the same one?
@@chasenashleyoutdoors7632 yes I even have the foam mat too
Maybe… that’s a good possibility. We can’t even run ours on full overnight because it gets too hot. you have an insulated tent?
Yes it's a otter insulated tent. outside temp was -15C. I run return hose into the tent too.@@chasenashleyoutdoors7632
Mind you that's a $1500 Hi-Lo battery they are using
Totally investment

Is it worth it though
We like it
No temperature readings of what it kept the temperature inside the tent though. Would have loved to have known that.
The unit you have doesn’t have the temp setting?
