Whether I’m camping out in my truck camper or trying out a new lake, I’m always looking to explore new places and take you along for the journey.
Driving 6 Hours to UNTOUCHED NORTHERN LAKES to Target Lake Trout and Gigantic Northern Pike
On the second half of our trip we would target lake trout. This would be my first time catching them vertical jigging and with the livescope it has to be one of the most exciting fish to catch. We would end out trip with an epic first but first we would see the absolute biggest pike I’ve ever laid my eyes on.

TOP WATER MUSKY!!! | The Truth About Musky Fishing
Переглядів 27021 день тому
Over the past few months musky fishing has developed into a full blown addiction. Whether it’s the weekend or a night after work, I’ve been spending countless hours chasing the opportunity to catch these fish. There is something about having them follow your bait directly to the boat or a top water strike that makes these fish so exhilarating. Although the bites come a lot less then many other ...
4 Day Solo Canoe Trip in Algonquin | The Final Stretch
Переглядів 303Місяць тому
The final day of the trip would be fairly smooth sailing with some short portages, a few beaver dams and a lot less rain. This trip had to we one of the wettest I have ever been on and came with its challenges but would also have many rewards. The brook trout honey hole, bull moose and otters were some of the highlights but this day would be no exception. With the turn in the weather I was fina...
ALMOST FLIPPED CANOE in High Winds | 4 Days ALONE in Algonquin
Переглядів 713Місяць тому
The rain would continue to fall on day three but the wind would really pick up making for a rough paddle. While crossing White Trout I would make a poor decision that almost flipped my canoe over in an instant. More lessons learned the hard way😂 The sun would finally come out and would completely change the defeated mood that was starting to take over the last two days. I would find a campsite ...
BULL MOOSE SIGHTING | Backcountry Camping in Heavy Rain | ALGONQUIN PARK
Переглядів 354Місяць тому
The rain would come down heavy this day but would also wake up the wildlife. As I paddled this section of the river I would see many geese, ducks and herrons but would also come across 6 otters and best of all a bull moose. Both sets of otters would do their best to distract me from their young has they would almost dance and call as they pull my attention away from the young otter. Then well c...
Fall Brook Trout in ALGONQUIN | 4 Days SOLO Camping in the Backcountry

This September I would head back into Algonquin to chase after some brook trout. With cold temps and endless rain this trip would push me mentally. On day 1 I would struggle with a migraine that slowed my pace and had me barely make it to camp as darkness would overcome me. But all the struggle would be work it as I would find a little corner of the river that was full of brook trout! Cast afte...

I learned quickly there was a few things I was doing wrong and needed to make some changes that would be better for me and the muskies!
THE BIGGEST FISH OF MY LIFE | Chasing GIANT MUSKY with @CastandConquer

Earlier this year I went out with Andrew to chase walleye on Quinte. After marking many giants and landing my pb we planned a day to chase after some giant musky out on the boat. This ended up being a day to remember as we would each land a musky that day and I ended up landing a musky that could take me years to top!
Backcountry Camping in Algonquin Park | Opeongo Lake
Переглядів 2292 місяці тому
Earlier this summer we went camping on Opeongo Lake in Algonquin Park. Usually I explore Algonquin in a canoe but this time I took advantage of the bass boat and camped with a lot more luxuries and an excessive amount of gear. My trips consist of a lot of travelling across many lakes to get to the next destination so it was a nice change to kick back and stay in one spot to explore the the mass...

The Most Versatile Tent Ever Made?!? NIGHT CAT Hammock Tent | Chasing the Fish of 10,000 Casts

Amazon Link - amzn.to/3M8uL39 The Night Cat Hammock Tent has to be the most versatile tent I have ever seen as it can be setup flat on the ground or hanging from the trees! I intended to have this for Algonquin this spring but it didn’t make it in time. This is the second trip I’ve used it on and am thoroughly impressed. I’ve been in some of the worst rain possible and this hammock stood up to ...

Paddling and Portaging from Sunup to Sundown in Heavy Rain | Spring Brook Trout Fishing in Algonquin
Переглядів 6135 місяців тому
On the last day of my trip I would paddle and portage from sunup til sundown. Although the trip was planned to be a 5 day trip, I made a decision midway through the 4th day to push forward and do almost half of my entire loop on that day. I would push myself past my limits and make it to shore at the very last moment of light. Along the way I would encounter countless waterfalls, moose prints a...

Winter is Officially OVER! | Fishing Season BEGINS!!! (Caught a GIANT)
Untouched like a $2 hooker....
Untouched you say. Looks like a lot of cottages and a boat launch big enough for your rig. I think your Algonquin lakes are more untouched. Nice video of the jigging technique
Yes the Algonquin trips are definitely more remote due to the portages. Other then the small community with the boat launch on the north end of this lake it was basically untouched. I didn’t do a great job of filming it but the lake was massive and I was honestly quite shocked there wasn’t cottages around the lake. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the backcountry lakes in Algonquin seen more people in a year then this lake
I’m glad you found some fishing buds. Sad I’m not one of them
I’d watch you stare off into the distance and scratch your balls. I love your content more than any UA-camr!
I recommend a fly in fishing trip for sure great experience
Looks like some good fishing
Had a blast out there and definitely will do a fly in trip at some point!
Pretty decent setup you should have the heating pipe inside couldn't hear anything you said after you started making the pancakes
I just bought that diesel heater. What type and size Battery do you use and how long did I'd last. Please and thank you
I’ve just used batteries out of my boat so honestly I’m not sure the actual draw it’s has on them but I’ve never had any issues with power. Maybe I’ll do a test this winter on a smaller battery to get a better idea
Jake there’s bad influences whether you’re clubbing and partying or fishing. One day at a time buddy.
Great you have a good buddy to share this with!
Looking forward to watching this once I am home at end of deer season.
Hope you were able to fill your tags this season! Thanks for tuning in!
Bigger the wave, bigger the fish bro!
Haha exactly! As long as they’re still biting!
great video castaway! The waves & wind were crazy... maybe the guy on the ranger was chumming or sea sick !?
Thank you! Definitely chummed up the water
Great video . What make Muskie rod are you using ?
Thank you! Okuma 8’6” evx H with the Shimano tranx. Great for blades and smaller baits but honestly I’ve discovered it’s a bit light fir a lot of other baits.
Love your content! I love nothing better than supporting small creators.
Lost a 50+ first week of September after a 10 minute fight with no leader. Swallowed my 1lb bass I had on whole.
❤
Awesome footage
Great trip! Enjoyed watching.
Thanks for watching!
I think fresh wooleye is better! Personal preference tho, great content dude. 🎣
A tree pounder lol
Great smile guy ✨☺️
Amazing attitude!!! Loved living vicariously 😎
You caught exactly ZERO jumbos! Guy thinks he's catching jumbo perch! Stick to making cooking videos for wanna be's. Lol. Real smart of you to insulate the pipe to the hut too! Lol
Do you feel better?
I had the exact same situation happen to me this past weekend, first solo trip on a small lake up in Temagami. Made the mistake of taking the canoe out unloaded so as soon as the wind hit me sideways I tried the same correction but the canoe wasn't stable enough to keep right way up. Thankfully I was smart and stuck fairly close to shore/was wearing a high quality life jacket so all ended well, but truly an eye opening experience - if it had been spring, or I had been out on a bigger lake things would have been much worse
Glad you made it out! Can get dangerous pretty quick. Should of had my life jacket on already on that day!
Do you need some kind of special license to fish in Algonquin? Beside of the Ontario fishing license? Im use to the quebec SEPAQ park where fishing procedure is always a pain in the ass. Again, what a great outdoor video. So better than what we have on tv!
Thank you, really appreciate that! And you just need an Ontario fishing license but have to check the regs for specific bodies of water because there is slot sizes and restrictions.
You’re amazing! If you ever need to reach out don’t hesitate. Nothing but support from here.
I forgot utensils except three knives on my trip last weekend. Had a wooden spoon though and made a fork.
But you need a Silky Gomboy instead of that collapsible saw. You will thank me later I promise.
You’re amazing. And you inspire me to go farther.
Do you have a kayak paddle extension? Is that even a thing? I thought about it over the thanksgiving weekend out in Kawartha Highlands.
Only one online and not in Canada. Million dollar idea and it’s all yours. Small 12”-24” piece that fits where your kayak paddle joins. Reduces waggle and improves speed.
I hope you become viral someday brother
Thanks man, appreciate that!
Agreed
Jake is so honest and real and open. It’s unlike anything on UA-cam.
What fish was that big one?
Fall fish!
I’m your #1 fan
Thanks brother!
When I was a kid that was the small hen I was a kid a jumbo was 2lb perch.
This area was once known for perch but anytime I’ve ever been there have barely ever caught one worth filleting. I ended up on a good school that day that definitely weren’t really jumbos but I was pretty excited haha
Like share and subscribe and do whatever you can to support Jake!
If life ever has you too beat reach out to me. I know you’re good but I’m here.
Kinda like Paul Walker good looks. But better than Paul Walker. Because of your personality.
Great video Jake, sometimes those gritty trips have the best rewards!
Your beaver dam shit? I mean you look like an expert!
I’m seriously addicted. I can’t get enough of your videos. You’re amazing Jake!
Mind sharing your route with me? This looks like a good route I would like to solo
When did you do this trip?
What type of tent is that?
what if the heat melts the ice your sleeping on
Unless you were on very thin ice it would take an extreme amount of heat to melt all the way through
I found your video by scrolling through esquif canoe video, cant believe your chanel doesnt have more subs than that. Really great content! Keep it up
Glad you came across the channel! Really appreciate this!
I love your content Jake! I’m addicted to it in a good way! Keep going! One day at a time.
Thank you, appreciate the support !
Fun! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Does the tent appear to be waterproof? I’ve seen reviews with the seems being terrible. I’d ordered it half an hour ago in fact then saw had received and have requested to cancel..
Andrew is a lucky guy. Getting to spend the day with you.
What do I have to do to get you to drive 3.5 hours to fish with me?
