I drive a 2022 Ford eTransit for work. It drives really well, gets 140 miles of range (which is more than enough for a full day of deliveries), and is comfortable. The battery has barely degraded in the 50+ thousand miles it has been driven as of yet. However, this Mercedes is most definitely better based on what I saw in the video. It has better HVAC controls, steering wheel controls, door controls, and a better infotainment system. Plus, this has heated seats while what I drive doesn't.
In Germany they are quite good for long travel, because below 3,5 tons they are like a car without speed limit. 160km/h / 100 mph was the fastest I drove, seemed sensible to don't drive faster. I never tested the max speed of the diesel. Hence the name "Sprinter" ;-)
UA-cam just did something weird. I am suddenly getting recommendations for old (years) videos. Not sure what is going on, but it is certainly screwing with the views
Definitely need one of these for my electrical company! The new Sprinter EV would be a game-changer for Circuit Pros Electric ⚡ Keeping the lights on and the power flowing, one charge at a time!
I wish we could have that in a sedan form. Like a base model Corolla, just electric. No 1000hp motors, no glass roof, no video game console built into the infotainment, no f..king fart noises, no idiotic door handles, no yoke steering wheel. Just a honest basic EV for driving around.
Such vans exist all over Europe, often used by Metropolitan organisations (like Public Waterworks Dept. or whatever), forestry service staff, etc. The way you usually spot it by the lack of sound, or a similar EV badge on it.

@@ParonakI mean, you dont get a 900kg ICE car? Repairability has gone down the drain aswell. Forcing repairability would be amazing, but you are setting higher standards then the current status quo
These large vans are the functional equivalent of full size pickup trucks in Europe. You can get them in a cab-chassis variant and then have a bed as an upfit. Dropside bed, flatbed, car hauler bed whatever. Often you see dry freight upfits or even refridgerated boxes similar to what you get on semi-truck trailers for even more cargo space. They're also popular as ambulances and police vehicles. If I remember correctly diesel version of the sprinter can be ordered with a max GVWR of something like 6.5t so after upfitting you have somewhere around 3.5-4 tons of payload capacity Big difference is of course there isn't any option to accomodate people who want to use a work vehicle as a personal luxury daily car like you get with some of the better equipped pickup trucks stateside :)
They might have put a muffler on the mic to reduce wind noise, or used an AI tool to filter out background noise. *Actually he said he's shooting this on a different device, that could be it.
Plus, though it might cost more upfront, the running costs of this will be a tiny fraction of the cost of the fossil fuel version, and it won't be subject to any emission requirements/fees in cities either.
The audio on the outside of the car seems bad due to the AI and the built in mics of pixel but when it was inside the car, that’s so crystal clear. Looking to more improvements especially the mic next year. Great quality video tho

As someone who has driven a fair amout of large commercial vehicles, this van not have the walk through to the rear would be a deal breaker for a lot of non large freight or cool storage delivery services. Especially in high heat states like AZ or NV. Im curious if that is just the model or something to do with the way they designed the EV/powertrain/structural integrity etc.
Worked with Sprinters for the past three years. I believe it's the most used commercial vehicle in Europe, at least in the Netherlands it is. Limiting factor for these isn’t the range, in most European countries it would be above the weight limit for normal drivers licenses. Unfortunately commercially not viable

Marques, If you’re reading this: I don’t know where it would fit in your YT portfolio of channels but you should totally make a video on circularity of EVs since you mentioned in this video that you hope to see EV tech get to the level of having no trade offs. I always hear people saying EVs are polluting and all but I’ve seen some initiatives behind circularity of its tech so far. So I’d like to see your take on the whole thing.
We use Sprinters here in Australia for Ambulances, if these had a bit more range they could be fantastic for that purpose. Stock standard the range isn't bad, but with all the additional power the accessories in an ambulance draw, you'd be pushing it.
If you pull and hold the minus lever on the steering wheel you should get to D(auto) which is best wenn driving with navigation, then if regens if you come close to a roundabout or a corner/exit. E-Vans have become very popular in Norway since the companies pay 10 Pence per kW. Takes 2 year to pay the difference in price between fossil and e-van.
That's actually a decent range. Last time I looked at electric cargo vans they got about 100 miles of range. And one other major benefit. It doesn't smell and create a bunch of emissions in the neighborhoods/cities. No idling and uselessly polluting while you get out to make a delivery and so on.
Yeah he uses an actual mic for the other videos so there is obviously a difference But for video quality? This stuff is crisp what more do y'all want? Imo it is just as good as his other videos and I didn't notice anything like video quality decrease And I use an iPhone Incase you think I'm glazing
I'd say that the first-gen Kia Niro EV is another very stealth vehicle; it looks just like the ICE and PHEV versions and the only tells that it's an EV are a little tiny "electric" badge and having a charging port on the front. There's also some very minor trim bits that are only noticeable to people who know to look for them. It's certainly more stealth than the F150 Lightning, in any case.
Marques I live very close to Vancouver (Canada) holding lot for autos. Basically it's miles and miles of unsold or yet to be delivered auto's. It is packed with EV's that nobody wants. I'm not talking like a few hundred, it's thousands! Clearly something is changing in the EV world. Either everyone who wanted one now has one, or people are clearly moving back to ICE.
I used to drive an old Chevy or maybe it was a Ford cargo van for a microbrewery. I delivered beer for them. The main feature of that was that when you open the sliding door on the side, if you opened it all the way it entirely fell off. Come to think of it. Maybe that was a bug?
When I purchased my 2022 Mini Cooper EV it was cheaper than the equivalent ICE trim with rebates, and it looks identical on the outside, except for one badge on the rear of the car.
I need a 300+ mile range one for my touring band. We have a 2011 Sprinter, and it’s great, and an electric passenger version with a 200 KWh battery would be amazing. Hopefully someday. 🤓
And not much has changed other than the propulsion type, these are great for that last mile local, most would be able to get a full day out of that range, then if you go back to base you could be charging while filling back up.

The postal service in Norway has been using these electric Sprinters for years. 👍
I see quite a lot of them and I always notice because of how quiet they are. That type of vehicle is perfect to be an EV.
Here in Finland diesel in 7 dollars per gallon and electricity is about 5 cents per kwh. It makes a lot of sense here
The pixel 9 pro video looks flawless 😮
iphone is way better tbh
In Germany they are quite good for long travel, because below 3,5 tons they are like a car without speed limit. 160km/h / 100 mph was the fastest I drove, seemed sensible to don't drive faster. I never tested the max speed of the diesel. Hence the name "Sprinter" ;-)
Some of these have got a very efficient 2.1 twin turbo deisel the smaller version can get 40 mpg.

As some others have said, this would INCREDIBLE for van-life!
The back view is very nice, looks like a robot face, definitely intentional @ 2:46. I love it!
We get Sprinters in our shop all the time. They’re highly customizable. They can be mobile homes, cargo haulers, passenger carriers, etc.
the audio on this is by far the worst recently
I wish we could have that in a sedan form.
Like a base model Corolla, just electric. No 1000hp motors, no glass roof, no video game console built into the infotainment, no f..king fart noises, no idiotic door handles, no yoke steering wheel.
Just a honest basic EV for driving around.

Loads of EV vans in Europe, you see 10+ every day now.
Such vans exist all over Europe, often used by Metropolitan organisations (like Public Waterworks Dept. or whatever), forestry service staff, etc. The way you usually spot it by the lack of sound, or a similar EV badge on it.
Love the cargo space, *cough* video! Wishing the camera quality was back to the iphone level. Can really tell this pixel struggles with difficult dynamic range situations :/
I’m planning to launch my own channels soon, likely within a month or two, once I have the necessary equipment. Having multiple channels will keep me engaged, and that’s exactly what I want. Content creators are the new athletes, and I firmly believe everyone should have their own channel. Yes, that includes you, the person reading this-you’re not too old or too young; you’re at the perfect age, and now is the best time to start.
Here are the channels I’m working on:
1. Tech Channel
2. Automotive Channel
3. Fitness Channel
4. Self-Help Channel (inspired by Tony Robbins)
I want to stay busy, much like Marques, though I’ll have to find a different sport since ultimate frisbee isn’t my strong suit. 😂
Good luck with your tournament, Marques! ✨😉👍
Video quality was fine but mic quality was worse
Absolutely love the video quality of Pixel9ProXL ❤
The mic for video recording seems terrible on the pixel
The quality difference between the front and rear facing is jarring
Why can't you read the description before commenting
Its the mic angles thats affecting it...
Yeah pixel mics 💀
@@stevenrast4261 Pretty sure he has that clear voice thing turned on. That's why no wind noise etc, that youd get with an iphone. It can be turned off, would be nice to see what that sounds like
YES!!! Mail trucks should be another great use case for EVs. Awesome review.
In a few years I foresee a bunch of hippies taking these used vans and turning them into DIY RVs. Putting screws through batteries and cables lol.
Comment went from „Yeah!“ to „skull emoji“
Hi, I’m german and the mirror/camera still remains a mirror if needed due to laws stating that you must have a rear facing mirror inside the cabin even if there is nothing to see😅
Holy crap that mic on the Pixel 9 Pro is ASSSSS compared to the iPhone 15 Pro.
After seeing this video,I think delivery company probably can benefit the most out of EV vehicels if the delivery route is just around a certain area. After you're done for the day you can just charge it overnight and do the same thing the next day. the only downside is probably someone forgot to charge it.
I didn't catch the description, but when I saw the pixelation as Marques panned the camera from himself to the van, I instantly thought, "This can't be an iPhone." It's disappointing to have such a poor camera on a $1000 phone. #pixel9pro
you do know that thats from youtubes compression and not the phone? when you turn the quality to 4k there is no pixelation #somepeoplelovesucklingonapplesschloingbadoing

We took a drive recently, Troy to Rochester, both NYS. 221 mi distance to go with our Chevy Bolt EV at 95%. We made it with 40+miles charge available. Return trip we had 4 miles less reserve. Now this was with summer tires and max speed of 58 m/h (no trouble with that). We would not expect to be able to do that with snow tires on.
Dude 8 min onwards the phone is absolutely killing the shadows. it's making you look all sorts of colours youre not. wth is wrong with the pixel camera?
yeah the constant exposure and color shifting in his face looks really bad but it's a typical Pixel thing unfortunately. Very Inconsistent. Especially noticeable from 10:04 onwards.
I may be wrong. But I'm pretty sure he's using the Google pixel 9 pro to record this video. So if you care about that. That's why it's different from a normal vid. I like the video quality! Very sharp.
Germany and EU has banned the sale of CO2 emitting vehicles from 2035. That's the future, not the "you'll have power options".
I will switch when they make a 900kg EV with 500km of autonomy and are easy to fix at home. Otherwise, its just a gimmick
they will probably still allow green gasoline (like from porsche) and H2 burners. Im betting on them caving in a little. Or batteries will be that good in the thirties that no one cares.
Yes but Europe thinks it's OK to emit NOx, particles, CO and all the other nasty stuff that gets generated by burning also non-fossile fuels if the balance sheet says "no-CO2 emitted". So in the end, this regulation is a big piece of useless crap that could only come out of the hands of lobby influence 2-cell brains without any usefull education whatsoever.
If I remember correctly diesel version of the sprinter can be ordered with a max GVWR of something like 6.5t so after upfitting you have somewhere around 3.5-4 tons of payload capacity
Big difference is of course there isn't any option to accomodate people who want to use a work vehicle as a personal luxury daily car like you get with some of the better equipped pickup trucks stateside :)
why the mic so muffled?
Hes recording directly from a phone
@@darkmist977 Nah, it's a dedicated mic.
@@ToreOnUA-camhe revealed it in their podcast that he's using the new Pixel phone and its mic. No dedicated mic
They might have put a muffler on the mic to reduce wind noise, or used an AI tool to filter out background noise.
*Actually he said he's shooting this on a different device, that could be it.
he is recording on a google pixel 9 pro or pro xl i forgot which one
Driving a van that size is a different experience.❤ I drove a passenger version.
The wind noise on that P9 is bad. Lovely, mine gets here in 2 weeks.
He used that ai clear sound feature
Plus, though it might cost more upfront, the running costs of this will be a tiny fraction of the cost of the fossil fuel version, and it won't be subject to any emission requirements/fees in cities either.
Pixel's video recording capabilities seem pretty solid compared to last year.
The audio on the outside of the car seems bad due to the AI and the built in mics of pixel but when it was inside the car, that’s so crystal clear. Looking to more improvements especially the mic next year. Great quality video tho
I bet that cargo box in the back has the cyber truck extended battery in it
That's an excellent guess. It is stated to weigh in at 450lbs.
100% for local companies. Walmart delivery, you stay with in x miles from the store and recharge while reloading or on break.

I think that pixel is doing a stellar job with its video this time looks absolutely good...like really improved over the last one
"You've got your basic knobs for media, temperature" - You know, all the basic stuff all other regular car buyers are screaming for, so we don't need to use screens for basic controls! :D Get me an e-Sprinter!
Sprinter owner/lover here. Yeee. Great review fam. Keep it moving.
Marques,
If you’re reading this: I don’t know where it would fit in your YT portfolio of channels but you should totally make a video on circularity of EVs since you mentioned in this video that you hope to see EV tech get to the level of having no trade offs.
At least it does that with Mercedes passenger cars (greetings from a Mercedes employee out of Germany). Love your content (tech and autofocus)
Luis
when we start to see too many videos a yt channel starts to become a corporation and I think marques has reached the point. also really good video qualty even on pixel looks really sharp and comparable to iphone's and the mic seems to be a problem as the start of the video was very low sound
Even as a frequent roadtripper, I’m never buying a gas car again. Love my Tesla, and electric is already the way to go for most people out there. And it’s only going to get better and better from here
its just perfect for a job. You have what you need to have and what you use on job, no extras for distraction.. Even though you are driving this thing all day, you gotta remember, you will probably stop every 5-10 minutes, so to have a van without any features other than just drive go and stop is amazing, its just perfect
I was going to ask whether you were shooting on a pixel or a different device because the camera shifts and zooms were much more noticeable and your skin kinda looks different as well... it might just be me but i like the look. it's just the zooms that arent smooth but i dont think it's a problem
7:51 That's exactly how I felt about self-lacing Nikes (I've got about 10 pairs that I actually wear as my actual shoes) ... until Nike announced they're gonna stop making them.

Same cockpit as gas, no changes at all. I drive the newest gas sprinter as a bus here in Denmark, and it's really good.
in a growing market for RVs, in which the Sprinter is one of the prime options, it might make sense to develop an AWD eSprinter, possibly transferring some of the 4x4 Squared 580 technology to the project.
Which begs, the question, any plans for a review of the G-Wagon 580?
Bro, today...i noticed a bit change of voice in the beginning.......or should i say a bit of distortion but all in all the video is very dope.😊
Dam, Google did real good with their camra and mic.
E-Vans have become very popular in Norway since the companies pay 10 Pence per kW. Takes 2 year to pay the difference in price between fossil and e-van.
kWh 😊
It looks good for campervan build.
It does!
That's actually a decent range. Last time I looked at electric cargo vans they got about 100 miles of range.
And one other major benefit. It doesn't smell and create a bunch of emissions in the neighborhoods/cities. No idling and uselessly polluting while you get out to make a delivery and so on.
Yes, definitely noticed camera and audio quality decrease. Usually is better. Thank for e-sprinter review regardless
Yeah he uses an actual mic for the other videos so there is obviously a difference
But for video quality? This stuff is crisp what more do y'all want? Imo it is just as good as his other videos and I didn't notice anything like video quality decrease
And I use an iPhone Incase you think I'm glazing
I'd say that the first-gen Kia Niro EV is another very stealth vehicle; it looks just like the ICE and PHEV versions and the only tells that it's an EV are a little tiny "electric" badge and having a charging port on the front. There's also some very minor trim bits that are only noticeable to people who know to look for them.
It's certainly more stealth than the F150 Lightning, in any case.
FBI being like : « great review, our new daily car for you know… Just chillin’ on your neighbourhood »
IT's wild how similar this one is to my 2013 sprinter. Almost everything is exactly the same except the steering wheel and the touchscreen 😆
From a fleet perspective, maintenance would be amazing especially if its a local delivery company.
You drive 300 miles without a break?
It's like the E-Transit
And not much has changed other than the propulsion type, these are great for that last mile local, most would be able to get a full day out of that range, then if you go back to base you could be charging while filling back up.
