What a difference to deliveries in Germany! It's very rare for an Amazon parcel to be left on our doorstep. It is either left with the recipient or a neighbor or dropped in the letterbox.
As a mail guy, I recommend nitrile gloves/latex gloves as a base, they work better then anything and still being able to go through mail so will be good for packages too, and fly fishing gloves if its really cold, check em out!
I always have a massive amount of respect for all deliveries workers. Amazon, Post Office, Truckers, Food, you name it. Lots of people rely on them for their daily meals, meds, and wants.
One big drawback to the EDV is that driving faster on the highway drains the battery faster, and the heating also takes away range. My DSP is pretty good about switching my route in the country for a route in the city so that I can stay in the EDV, and the step van driver can have an easy day. Even though I get put in the city, I still have a bit of a commute to make on the highway. I just stay on the service road or a boulevard heading the same direction. Saves me about 50 miles

Super Rural zone for me - Amazon Flex. During a recent storm 4 hour blocks were going for $180, and *nobody* took them. That should say enough about how Super Rural zones are handled here! The station never closes even when multiple roads are closed, but the Flex drivers here have learned the hard way that it's not worth wrecking one's car or getting stuck for hours for any money! Especially since we still get punished for returned packages!
As a van driver you flex guys don’t get enough credit, it’s super sketchy driving personal cars since everyone nowadays are so quick to violence on anyone trespassing and lots of people don’t even know what flex is yet. Stay safe if your still doin it bro
@@saxo7667 True, but if a DSP ever took over, I honestly don't see how any of the step vans could make it on these roads. UPS out here has a special rigged up 4x4 truck with a tall container on the back of it - very funky [recently got a pic of one], and their step vans only deliver to places they've already "blessed" as safe. There's a lot of places where residents have to go into town to the UPS Store to pick up their packages because their vehicles simply can't make it. Great working experience, your working environment is much more relaxed than most developing countries, comfortable working environment, work vehicle, clear house number. No stairs, no phone calls. It's important to be born in a free and relaxed country. It will make your life a lot easier and happier. Born in China, you will suffer a lot.
Dang, I used to live in New Jersey most of my life and its sad to hear them declare a state of emergency for such little snow. Back in the day it would take at least 6-8 inches before the schools were like "meh, maybe a 2 hour delay I guess" and for businesses to be like "maybe dont come in today or at least be careful on the way here"
Its because of Murphy and his incompetence on Nov. 15, 2018. One cannot overstate just how ridiculous that was. Why did Murphy not give an order until nearly 12 pm? He was out partying like it was NYE on November 14th, 2018 in AC and hung over. Now he is as quick as can be to declare state of emergencies.
yeah I'm a rural driver and its pretty brutal, having to back down a dirt road for like half a mile for every stop is pretty annoying but it gets insane at night trying to back up and having no visibility, the countryside is another kind of dark. plus were in rental vans they most don't even have working break lights or reverse lights so there isnt any light coming from the back and is next to imposable to see
Very different delivery method to Europe - here the delivery men always ring the doorbell and hand it over in person. Signatures are not always required, but very rarely is the parcel left on the doorsteps. If noone is home, then usually the package is dropped off at the nearest postal office and a note is left to the owner to go and pick it up.
I would prefer this. I hate having signature required package delivery attempts when I'm at work. Then they try again the next day...at the exact same time of day.
Cool video, it's still funny to see how others cope in these weather conditions. For us it's not just 1 inch of snow but 40 and its a normal day for us. The slippery stairs are not a problem for us because the owner of the house has to ensure that the paths in his house are de-iced. The city has to do everything else like sidewalks. If you are injured, you can sue for damages.
The biggest reason why delivery drivers in the US struggle in snowy conditions is because of the lack of Winter tires on their vehicles. I live in Norway and right now we have gotten 1.5m of snow to even 2m in some places of the country. I delivered mail and packages for about 2 years and the winter definitely had its beat on me. Luckily for me we had to use our personal cars which meant I had good tires for the conditions so it didn’t really suck to drive and have gotten through everything. ( I use studded winter tires on my 4wd Audi ) Sooo when I heard you say 3 inches and state of emergency, I thought it was a joke in the start 😅 maybe that is something the US could improve on and take from us European countries. Either way, this was definitely an interesting video. Keep up the good work!
I was a delivery driver for office depot back in the day. we had to use thomas guides and sticky notes on the corners of the pages to where our route was going and where we need to go.

Watching from the UK as a delivery driver, I can't believe you can just dump the packages on someone's porch/front door take a pic and that's it "delivered", without knocking on the customers door and hand them the parcel. Your lying Amazon deliveries ONLY leave the package without even trying to ring the bell!
In Sweden they often leave you to collect it at nearby shops and grocery stores
Usually they get thrown or kicked at the front door and then they get praised for doing so

A lot of snow came down on Friday the 12th here in MI and we were all called back to the station at 5. Much of that snow is still on the ground, people are just not bothering with their walkways.
It's been a while since we had a lot of snow fall down.
Laughs in Canadian. Good video. They say if you love your job you'll never work a day.
I like your video you’re very friendly and humble keep up the great work! Greetings from Miami Florida stay warm and drive safely
Where are you bro? Miss the vids
LOL!!!! State of emergency for 1 to 3 inches!!!! Here in Minnesota thats a monday! Heck even after 6+ inches of snow we still wont cancel school!

Thanks for answering the signature on the video. I am working in KC Kansas and Missouri area and the EDVs won’t last longer than 4 hours so we are back to using the Cargo vans. Country routes are terrible right now.
that's unfortunate. The EDV's are a treat to drive
You’ve abandoned us 😢
This video kept on going on my fyp for the past week, so you know I had to watch it
"teslas are dying and the tesla chargers dont work" lmao bit of an exaggeration, cool video!
yeah they aren't dying at all. It was just a subset of low quality chargers. Nothing to do with electric itself, just the quality
the songs give it that christmas vibe! this my fav ep already and im in the beginning lol
14:36 do it
Whats up Chris, haven't seen any new videos from you in a while. Are we going to see any new content from you soon? Thank you for all of the content that you have provided!!! Been a sub for almost a year!!!!
Why i deliver in Florida.Fuck all that lol.
7:02 wow i love that POV shot
There could be an F-5 tornado going on outside and Amazon would make y’all deliver still 😂
They had people delivering during Hurricane Nicole here in Florida. It might have been Flex drivers only, but unsafe regardless.
@@botld92z and they’re all about safety 🤣🤣
At FedEx, I delivered thru 2 major hurricanes in NJ... State Trooper said go home when he saw me😅
Congrats on 300K views, you deserve it
2 months without video, how sad...
Hi Anna I missed you 😅
cool dude, I had the same job as amazon delivery driver I loved it but I did it actually in Europe in Austria, interesting seeing the similarities and the differences. I also made a few videos about it. But this new EV Van is fantastic, I wish I could try them out, looks like a fun experience
what happened to this channel?
He said "Hey guys Chris here" instead of "hey guys ChrisFix here" so UA-cam had to take him down
6:54 they're front wheel drive, so I would back up the driveway if you are slipping going up
Aint no amazon truck if it aint got no piss bottles in it
Never related to a comment so much before 😂
How do these drivers go about 💩?
I use to carry an empty gallon with me at all times. Quick piss and back to delivering lol good times
I have an idea for your company, they should add like 2 people one is the driver and the other is the delivery guy so it would be much more faster besides being solo
Amazon asked him to stop, he updated on Instagram. Then he got booted.
Proof?
I love your videos… wish you would post weekly! Been binge watching all of your videos
i imagine you said frig this amazon garbage. crazy how bad working for amazon is. grind harder then any other delivery service, almost double the stops, but pay next to a walmart or cvs associate. trash company
What's great about deliveries in the US is, you don't wait for anyone to "receive" the package. You just drop and go. And you can even double park? Holy cow. If it were me, I'd be done with the truckload in half a day.
did bro die or something or is he going to fumble this channel and a great opportunity?
