You guys are masters! I hated my 1.5 din OEM radio in my 2000 Yukon XL. You’ve given me the confidence to replace it with a CarPlay Bluetooth receiver with backup cam!!!
Cool video. I want to upgrade my single din to a double din soon. So this was the perfect instructional video. I have a 2003 Chevrolet avalanche. So this would work. Thank you
If i already had a new bezel and didn't need to get one and i jist needed the jarness and brackets.what are the part number for the radio brackets and wiring harness? Thanks
Great video! That's a great solution on those trucks. A rattle can of some SIM paint would make the bezel look like factory. Keep up the great works guys.
Just fantastic information and a great install but I bet they could have made it look just as good with the original cover face. That cutting tool could have done the job.
Great video, awesome job. How did you retain the door chimes and r.a.p.? I will be following this video for my install. 2001 suburban, amp bypass, non nose, and onstar delete. Which chime harness should I use?? Thanks
Another great one guys, question though. What working would you recommend for power using a 2 amplifier set up? 4x60 and 500rms sub amp, 2 separate power wires or one large split at a fuse holder??
I already have a double din in my car but I'm looking to upgrade. I can't really decide between the pioneer nex 4201 or the Alpine ilx-207. Whats your opinion guys? The backup camera is going to be replaced with an echo master....
How do I install the kdc-bt360u by Kenwood in a 2000 Chevy express van 3500 could you please send me the wiring diagram for for to match up to the wiring diagram for the deck I can't get this thing to stop saying mis wiring
@@thatgamerguy1324 That harness is for the cassette deck in the center console. When you install your head unit (if you haven't already) just leave it unplugged.
Yeah I realized that lmao. Right after that comment was made I installed it that morning. And left it out and though oh well. Lol. I saw my cassette with the aux cord and thought. Ohhhh. And tried putting it back in and realized it wasnt on and it dawned on me lol. No wonder alot of people weren't concerned cause alot didnt come with an external cassette lol
Hey guys question... metra sells an amp.bypass #70-2021for a chevy Impala. Would that fit a 02 avalanche. I lnow GM uses the same plugs on all of there vehicles. If not does anyone sell one
No one wants the extra cost. It is not that hard to mark and trim the dash you have. If some reason you do break it then you can pay money for this kit. I will be doing a step by step video on how this is done on a 2003 Tahoe.
hehehe don't break anything you don't want broken ..... every installer says this ..... I'll throw y'all a tip, grab some saws-all blades (aggressive ones) trace the air saw blade on it and then grind it down. Makes cutting plastic much faster with less welding
I was recently inquiring about a new stereo. They were telling me about some sort of pack used so that functions of the truck still work. he was saying it was about $300 on top of the radio purchase. This thing, if not installed can cause malfunctions for the airbags and lights, signals, door locks and other issues. Is this true, what is it exactly or was this guy just up selling me?
I believe chime modules weren't introduced until 2003 up. I have a 2002 Sierra z71 1500 and it doesn't have a chime module but my 2005 does. I'm probably wrong tho 😂
I would do this except for the fact you have to cut out a metal brace that was put there by engineers to keep the engine from becoming your face, It is not safe to remove that.
So instead of just buying a stereo that fits, you purchase a dash kit for $150, push your climate controls down, and extensively modify behind the stereo cutting core support brackets to that dash completely off.

Awesome video guys I'm about to do the same thing to my 99 Yukon

Thank you for letting us watch :) Love your work Dynamic Duo!!
Beautiful job gentlemen. Outstanding work as always.
Best instructions on You Tube!!!!!!!!!! Good job.
Good job fellas! Waiting on my dash kit as we speak!
This is one of the Best, helpful video's . Thanks. Where do you connect the purple back up camera wire in the engine compartment?
konaok1 There's a light green wire in the driver's footwell behind the junction box cover. That wire provides +12 volts when the truck is in reverse.
Awesome! Thanks!
The uke music in the background was a nice touch.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge!!!
Does anyone know if you can get the radio brackets without the full dash bezel kit?
Question!!!!
What about that other set of wires next to the antenna? What did you do with them?
If i already had a new bezel and didn't need to get one and i jist needed the jarness and brackets.what are the part number for the radio brackets and wiring harness? Thanks

What an excellent video! Splendid job. Thank you
did you need to cut the metal bracket out from behind the headunit cavity as well?
Yes, they showed that.
Crutchfield has the correct color trim bezel mine was same color dash as yours its not listed as gray but pewter to match you dash color.
Would have liked to see it finished and working.
Another great one guys, question though. What working would you recommend for power using a 2 amplifier set up? 4x60 and 500rms sub amp, 2 separate power wires or one large split at a fuse holder??
+jmaslin I'm a fan of 2 power wires
Where can I find just the radio brackets
What happens to the tape deck??? Is it dead? Can it be used? HELP! PLEASE answer!
This is the information I'm looking for. Did you ever find an answer?
I really really would love to see how you wire up and install a radio into a 99-05 Lexus GS300 with the regular non navigation pioneer system.
Good job and video. It helps alot. Thanks
My 2000 Suburban strangely is playing AM radio but not FM. Is it time for a new radio, or could something be wrong with wiring or antenna?
Did you have to move the ac controls any?
Well it work for 2002 cadillac escalade
What’s the purpose of the shelf in the dash? Is it just to support the head unit?
What size double din is that ?
This was great.
What’s that green harness called and do? When you removed the radio
That’s a Badass Phoenix Gold T-Shirt
Where’s your shop I need installation Sir please address

Is it possible to mount the bluetooth mic in the stock area on a 2015 tundra
Always informative

where are you guys located?
Great video and info
Thank you
Where can I order that dash???
What is the second harness you unplugged from the stock radio? Never got brought up just wondering, I gots the same
The only reason I'm watching these is because that harness on the left. Did you ever figure it out? I'm installing mine today

Any kit to replace the tape deck with AUX or USB on this vehicle?
No it's a great question 😂 so where is our answer please
What stereo is that?

Will this fit my 2000 Chevy Silverado 4x4 1500
yes.
You forgot to check and see if there was a cd in the old radio and mention about setting the parking brake.
Brett Loucks Ut those are like common sense though...
Does the radio come with the antenna harness?
No
I have a 2002 Sierra 2500HD will this kit fit my truck properly? I looked for a metra unit but said not compatible with my truck, why?
Itll work
Yes good question. On my Tahoe I believe it is for the rear radio controls on the center console
What about the theftlock crap?
That's awesome

👍👍 awsome
Did not work for us we,re trying to bend it down but we can not do it

Seriously where did u find that out
So instead of just buying a stereo that fits, you purchase a dash kit for $150, push your climate controls down, and extensively modify behind the stereo cutting core support brackets to that dash completely off.
they use 1.5 din radios, which aren't used anymore. so you either have to fill a space, cut the dash, or get a new dash kit.
I have a 02 suburban. Do I need to get a pac to have OnStar working?
OnStar in no longer supported for that year. I believe only 08' and up still is.
so can i just pull a dash bezel out of a 03-06 or is there something special about this metra kit
if you use the 03-06 bezel, the power ports and ash tray will be partially covered.
@@randyrichardson4364 as well as not covering the ac controls well either unless you cut it up a bit. This just makes it all a lot easier.
