Do I need anything additional to incorporate my SeriusXM radio?
Also have the same truck and the rear speaker stopped working shortly after they installed the radio. I want to install a new radio which I hope will fix the issue with the speakers. Pro-line the audio store that installed it didn't do such a great job. It was free so I didn't complain. Enjoyed it while it lasted.
Great and explain in all you videos. thank you!
One thing worth mentioning that may not matter to everyone but it certainly matters to me...
The Crux interface adapter does NOT support RAP (Retained Accessory Power). The Crux adapter is configured to keep the radio on until the key is pulled out of the ignition.
If you turn the truck off leaving the key in the ignition the Crux will NOT shut off the radio when you open the door like the factory radio. The aftermarket radio will be on indefinitely likely causing a dead battery. If you ALWAYS take your keys out of your car probably a non-issue but for me it is a non-starter.
Thanks for this is a bonus for me!
Who the heck leaves their keys in the ignition indefinitely? 99.9% of all people take their keys with them, so this is a non-issue for nearly everyone but you.
This is what i was looking for, I have the same truck and want to upgrade the radio, thanks for the info!
My Denali has Bose, thanks for this video!
I am using almost EXACTLY everything parts wise you have listed in the video.
Does the crux unit need to be programmed to retain the factory steering wheel controls with the pioneer unit or is it pre programmed? Also what about parking brake? Reverse light wire?
Do those wire into the Crux unit/factory plug wiring or do I need to pull wires and wire into wiring under the dash basically a needle in a hay stack hunt?
Please tell me it all wires into the crux unit 😅????
Okay I have everything hooked up and the radio works but when I hook up the Bluetooth no sound comes out?
Will the Crux Wiring Harness Adapter SOOGM-16 For Bose and Non-Bose Systems retain the factory mic for Bluetooth?
Can you fly out and hook my system up!😂
I use a old mess kit knife for panel work. I've heard the security system is ran through the radio an can cause no Start issues.
Thank for the link this one is much better
I’m trying to figure out how to use the backup camera adapter that came with the Crux. Where do I plug that adapter in so that it moves from the rear view mirror to the unit?
I did not buy the S00GM-16 because it is very expensive. I don't have steering wheel controls but I do have an Onstar mirror that i don't care for or use. I bought a dash kit, antenna thing and a Red Wolf wiring harness that is compatable with the truck. Do I really need the SOOGM?
Is there a Double Din Touchscreen that has Apple car play and can also retain all the features in a 14 Tahoe, (overhead monitor DVD player, steering wheel, etc) my Tahoe has the Bose system
Yes. This guy has another video showing what is needed to do it.
Small crowbar from Home Depot worked well with me for removing that stainlesss steel plastic bit in the start, however I went a bit too far in and destroyed the plastic where the screws go in for the Air conditioning controls and one of them popped out
If you damaged the AC controlls then a crowbar didn't actually work so well, did it?
@@robertatkinson6864 the dash was already super cracked so I’m Not surprised
Got a 2013 Suburban LTZ OnStar AM/FM/XM/Navigation/Bluetooth, putting a JoyBring aftermarket, using a PAC RP5-GM32, wired per installation instructions, plugged in Radio works BUT no sound. Any suggestions to get it working?
Same problem
Why I'm I getting a static sound from all my speakers I install all colors rigth what I'm I doing wrong ?
the tuner is not available any longer can I use Pioneer AVH-221 EX for the same application
is the adapter supposed to make the turn signal sounds?🤦🏻♂️
Depends on how the turn signal was generated with the factory radio. If those sounds were created and played through the factory speakers, then the harness will replicate that from the smart module itself (not through the new radio). If the noise was created from a separate dedicated speaker behind the dash, then it will continue to function as such.
bluetooth mic you plugged into the unit.... is on the crux /?? where is that coming from on the truck??
This will be my first attempt at something like this. Your video is super helpful. What size heat shrink tubing do you use?
Sure thing. We used 1/8 2:1tubing.
nice man.
you forgot to add link to the usb adapter for center console.
Do you have a video on replacing the Bose amp
Great video! I see the pioneer radio that you used is out of stock. Do you have any recommendations for an alternative radio where in can retain factory options as listed in this article?
Thanks
The 2009 radio had Bluetooth so can you install in a 2008
This is awesome! Will the rear DVD screen and controls still work if I input a head unit with DVD capabilities?
Yes, with the right adapters: ua-cam.com/video/QgdlcTF9hpU/v-deo.html
I have a suburban but when I take off the factory radio it has three harnesses, did yours have 3? I’m lost
Quick question have you made a video changing from factory Chevy touch screen to aftermarket touch and keeping factory back camera and over head DVD player. Plan on changing factory radio in my 07 Chevy suburban
I don't have a bluetooth on my truck ... so can I still answer phone calls???
When installing this aftermarket radio, did you have factory remote start? If so, did you retain that or lose it?
Factory remote start? How does it work? Is there a button on the remote or do you have to press a combination of buttons?
Did you install the Pioneer parking brake micro bypass in this video? Is it needed with the Crux unit?
Ever find an answer to this??
I just bought my 2008 Tahoe last Xmas and I just installed my second aftermarket stereo. I keep having issues where the day after I have the new one installed (at two different businesses,) the radio takes 15+ mins to get power and turn on, if it turns on at all. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if so, what was done to fix the issue?
What routing do you have to do if you have a rear camera already in vehicle stock?
Your truck had a reverse sensor, if so, could you tell me how you insist on keeping it since I installed the stereo and it lost that function, thanks
Any recommendations to do this kind of work in the western suburbs of Illinois?
cant find a 2010 suburban video anywhere? my radio looks nothing like this what else is different?
We’re do I connect the parking brake micro bypass on this harness?
Okay would it be similar for a 2008 gmc Yukon Denali already has touch screen but I want to update it aswell how would it work with the Navi?
Is there a link for the adapter using factory nav?
What wire did you use for ignition? I can't find one for my radio that will cut off the radio off after ignition switch is off
Well if you use the right harness, no need to look for one. Your vehicle requires a canbus data module for your new radio. You have the wrong harness.
Can you do a video on a mic installation?
Ok I bought another wire harness for navigation factory radio, this one fit only problem now is my antenna adapter won't fit? on 2013 Chevy Tahoe LTZ.
The micro bypass is no longer available on Amazon. What is it and is it necessary? Thanks!
What do you recommend for my 2011 Buick enclave? My goal is full navigation features, as in the OEM nav/radio.
Just watched your video on the 5 channel amp speaker upgrade on the tundra Using the kit from taco tune. Someone asked about why you left the factory amp which you replied saying Incase they wanted to go back to stock. My question is, can the factory amp be removed to mount the LOC in its place. I plan to do everything you did in that install but just not using that taco tune kit. I will use there T Harness but that’s it. I just want to confirm removing the factory amp and tucking the connectors away I won’t have any issues. Btw you guys do great work. 👍
What if my deck doesn't have the 3.5 plug in the back
3.5mm for the AUX or steering wheel volume controls?
@@ProvoBeastAudio steering wheel volume controls
@@shawnbeach1421 Then you will need to follow the crux instructions, but the plug off and wire in for Key 1 and 2.
Where the description for everything we need
Thanks! Any great suggestions on adding a microphone? How to remove trim to do that?
Great video dude you are great.
Can you please tell me where to tie the parking brake wire into? I have a 2012 sierra 2500 and I bought the Scosche interface
Hi
I install a sonny radio on my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500
Everything looks good besides the steering control
Any idea what else do I need for it?
What plug did you use and can i still use the steering wheel controllers whit it
I did this exact kit in m 07 avalanche with bose and my steering wheel controls don’t work. Is there any common issue I may have overlooked?
Wiring or dip switch wasn’t setup correctly.
Hey great video! Your content is super helpful! Here's my issue. I have a 2012 Suburban LTZ with Bose and Nav. Installing the Pioneer AVH-2550NEX with the Crux SOOGM-16 interface. The connectors on the interface don't match the connectors on the vehicle. Like, not even close... Any advice?
Any luck
Hey there, if you have factory NAV, you probably need the Pac RP5-GM32 based on your year and trim: amzn.to/3R4aoFs
HOpefully that helps!
Did you ever figure this out? My connectors are way different as well and one is quite large. Same problem as you possibly, did you find the correct harness?
Thanks for sharing!
Can you add Sirius XM to that radio
Not that one specifically, no. But this Alpine here has CarPlay / Android Auto, Bluetooth, and is XM radio ready: amzn.to/3lvGk8J
I was trying to upgrade stereo in a 09 Chevy Suburban having trouble connecting to the reverse camera Factory a steering wheel control I am using install Kit Crux model dkg m49 you have any advice on what may be going wrong
can i use an aftermarket amplifier with this? say im using a skar 1500 class D amp. will it work?
Sure, any amplifier as the radio has RCA pre-outs.
Super clean install
And it will Bluetooth to my phone right?
Can you hook Sirius XM up to that radio

Thanks for your help buddy .I have one more question for my radio I got my first one and it came in with a busted screen are or is it replaceable or can it be fixed? Thanks again
Not worth repairing. Suggest replacement.
@@ProvoBeastAudio They didn't want the old one back so I thought I could maybe try and maybe replace the screen? Any suggestions?
Did you lose the remote start?
It wasn't equipped.
How come everything works but no sound
BOSE amp needs to be triggered. Hook up the blue / white amp turn on wire to your radio.
@@ProvoBeastAudio works👍🏻 but not my radio screen says no signal any help there? I got the dual XVM296BT
Can you not use the trucks factory mic for hands free for phone?
so you only need this single module from crux compared to the 2 different modules if you go with the Axxess from the original video? this one retain the chimes too?
Crux is an all-in-one module for a better price, where Axxess / Metra requires two separate. Crux retains all your chines and factory Bose as well (if equipped). Better solution!
My head unit is working but there is no sound out of the speakers. Someone help plz
Recheck all connections Front right positive negative, rear right positive and negative etc, check settings on the radio, make sure pins on each connecter are clean and fully clipped in, otherwise you may have a faulty aftermarket harness. Best of luck
Sounds like you may have Bose. You need to connect the blue / white wire of your radio to the blue/white wire of the harness adapter to trigger the Bose amp to turn on.
@@ProvoBeastAudio yep that was it! Thank you!
I installed this harness but steering controls are all wanky. Buttons don’t correspond to the correct thing. Any ideado.
Do they have a usb-c flush adaptor?
What size touch screen should I put in my 2011 impala without the screen over lapping
Hello there i have an extra cable without pair it's the yellow with black line that says mute where should i connect that on the crux the radio is a Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX thanks?
To the radio’s yellow / back wire. If it doesn’t have a mute, just cap it off as it won’t be used.
@@ProvoBeastAudio thanks and happy new year!
I just ordered this set up for my 2013 silverado and wanted to ask where you connected the pioneer micro bypass listed in the description?
Update please
Does that vehicle have rear climate control behind the center console? Did you lose the climate and radio functionality back there?
This vehicle wasn't equipped with them, but as for radio controls, they become obsolete behind the center console with a new radio, but the climate controls should still work.
Is there a reason u used crux harness instead of the metra on the last video??? Trying to decide wich one to get
Better price, comes pre-programmed, easier to install.
Do you have to use the Bluetooth mic or can you use the factory built-in mic?
Factory mic is on its own protected circuit so usually the new aftermarket one is required (analog style)
I did an upgrade on my 2012 GMC ACADIA RADIO, from stock to touch screen.. taken from a 2010 Acadia.. mine truck doesn't have Radio Module Interface an like two other connections cable..can you check it out and let me know where I believe is the only two large cables runs to from the radio? Thanks much..
Does it need a noise filter too, or will the interface takes care of that ?
Would this work on my 07 ltz with all the features and will my factory remote start work and would a aftermarket amplifier work too?
How do you make the tahoe start with the remote?
Wondering how you installed the parking brake bypass. Also it says the parking brake bypass can not be found on Amazon.
ua-cam.com/video/0xYNn8LDvnE/v-deo.html
Yeah, all of them were pulled from amazon. I have a link to ebay in this video linked above.
Have you tried the Pioneer NEX setting to bypass the video play. Asking bc I have the
DMH-W4660NEX and supposedly there is a setting to bypass the video play. Just wondering!!
Also can you do a video on installing the
DMH-W4660NEX. My 1st instal and I do not want to screw it up. 😂 I will let you know how it goes.
@@dethstorm1386 W-Series Pioneer radios (with newest software update) allows you to forgo the microbypass and instead bypass the radio with a series of touch screen touches in the right order. We will have a video of that shortly.
I have a speed sensor input wire but I am not sure where to connect it. Any idea? And the mute wire is not a loose wire on my crux harness I guess I need to cut and connect to the mute wire for my pioneer stereo? Thanks for the help again in advance.
question, is loud using the built-in amplifier with the aftermarket headunit or no
Do the OEM wires match CD player to OEM dvd player I find at a wrecker?
The retains the Onstar but you said it doesn't retain navigation so if Onstar sends directions to my truck, it wont read out anywhere like on the radio display and it wont show on the radio GPS correct?
I can't find any aftermarket options for a 2008 silverado ltz with a factory touch screen and navigation. I want to replace the factory unit to a dub din but there is no videos on it ? Any information would be greatly appreciated
It's the same process and parts listed in the description of the video will work great on your install.
I have a 2014 Yukon Denali XL 1500 with the Bose dvd navigation. I have a giant connector and 6 other connectors that don’t look like what is in the video. I am not sure the wiring harness is right for my vehicle. Do you have any idea what I need for this one? I have been lookin everywhere and cannot find the right harness.
Mines won’t turn off after vehicle is off. Same radio
Sounds like a wiring issue.
I’d check the harness you are using.
Steering wheel controls work ?
I did everything you did but my radio won’t turn off
Sounds like a wiring issue. Check your connections.
You think I made a wrong connection
I think I connected correctly I will check again
Will my back screen dvd/cd player still work for movies etc?
Not without the Metra Axxess GMRSAV OE Video Integration: amzn.to/3pprIra
How do you get Sirius XM
Hey I have a 2014 Denali with nav I have changed radio out with a Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX and I’ve got everything for factory stuff it still work but my rear entertainment tv powers on but no picture do you have any idea why???
I got the same radio on '11 sierra and after the installation cruise control won't engage any thoughts?
I'd remove the negative off of the battery and do a full reset. If no success, reinstall the factory radio to see if the cruise control works.
Will the dvd player piece go with the wiring harness in this video?
Ok, I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado no navigation it does have an onstar button. Can I just get a wiring harness or do I have to get the interface? I miss old school stuff lol.
You will need a smart harness to do it right since accessory, illumination, etc. runs over the canbus of the truck.
Could you please list what USB cable adapter is needed to plug into the existing charging port to turn glovebox USB into a charger?
amzn.to/3h3HowD
UNHOOK BATTERY RIGHT??!
Bro me podras decir el color de alambre del remoto para el amp con el estereo original no lo encuentro por favor
Solder and shrink tape 5 stars. Not vacuuming out all the dust and dirt -4 stars.
Half assing it is not a good look.
My pioneer harness came with a mute wire, but nothing on the crux. Do I just tape it off?
Yep!
I did a radio install on my 2007.5 GMC Sierra 1500 slt and I had two hook ups and the antenna hook up, my Bluetooth connects and says the song is playing but no audio is coming out the speakers. However when you play the local radio the speakers will work
