Kristen Stewart was GREAT as Joan Jett, she's capable of acting (and smiling). I think the books were so dreadful that the screenplay can't inspire much enthusiasm in the actors either. Also I think she may be gay but is not out publicly yet.
She was SO great that Joan Jett thought it was herself singing when it was all Kristen! She's really talented and deserves none of the hate she gets.

***** Dating men means nothing if you're not out yet. Just because she dated them doesn't mean she was necessarily attracted to them. Attraction and action are not the same thing. A lot of gay or lesbian people dated women or men before they came out. The reason being either to keep up appearances or to try and force themselves to not be gay or lesbian. Dating someone does not necessarily always mean you're in love with them.

As someone who was consumed by the Twilight phase and learned the error of my ways ironically right after this movie was released, this cracked me up. That being said I have watched all of the films (because I read the books and to be honest just wanted to laugh at them) and they continue to be a gray filtered nightmare of hilarious proportions.

The first twilight was filmed where I live so If you can imagine there was no escaping it. We had shops dedicated to it....whole shops! Also Halloweentown, that one I'm proud of haha.

You're exactly right. No one that saw the movies or read the books over the age of 16 thinks that this is actually some kind of grandiose love story or fantastic masterpiece going into it, so it's not that bad when you actually see it. Except for all the 20-40 year old men that continue to make fun of it like it's their job. Apparently they had high expectations.

This made me laugh so much. I like Twilight, I've seen/read them all, but I'm not obsessed. I think so may people feel like they have to have a strong opinion of loving or hating it, but I don't think it's bad enough for me hate or good enough for me to watch/read it/them over and over.

I'll admit, I'd watch a movie about an all vampire baseball team trying to make it in pro baseball. It would be wonderfully silly if they played it as straight faced as possible.
The next one is more true to the books than this one was. I think it makes it better, but then I actually enjoyed the books. Especially the audio books. I really liked the voice of the woman who read those, Ilyana Kadushin . She was able to inject personality into the characters in a way that the actors weren't. And she sounds a lot like Pauley Perrette, who is one of my favorite actresses. :)
I really recommend The Host though. It's much better than Twilight. Though she still puts in lots of that obsessive-weird-idol-worship-love that Bella has for Edward, it's toned down a bit, and she manages to make her main character actually into not just one, but two fully fleshed out characters, unlike Bella, who tends to be a bit one-note at times.
This is my new favourite thing. I love you. I read all four books during the hype, because I was wondering what all the fuss was about, and I was desperate for *anything* to read (I was stuck on the corner of no and where in Ireland with none of my own books), and boy howdy are they a pile of rancid tripe. I kind of want to watch all the movies just for how laughably bad they are though. Also I would love to see you do videos like this one for the rest of the series. Your commentary is golden.
I loved this, Ang!! I think you have waited the perfect amount of time to do this, because the Twilight obsession was "long ago" enough that laughing at it feels all fresh and new again.

I went through a twilight phase. Bought all the books, loved them, was extremely excited for the movie...it was a dark time in my life. Then I realized how sexist, misogynistic and terribly written they were and got over THAT pretty fast. Now I just watch the movies to laugh at them. You should do this for the rest of the movies! Just wait til you watch Breaking Dawn...oh, LAWD.
And I am so not here for any KStew hate. I've always loved her loooong before Twilight. She turns in great performances in plenty of movies (The Runaways, Welcome to the Rileys, Adventureland, Speak, to name a few), and quite frankly, that poor girl was treated like absolute shit by the media (need I mention the cheating scandal, where everybody slut-shamed her and called her a whore, yet never once mentioned the fact that a married man with children cheated, too), always scrutinizing her for not smiling on red carpets. Nope. Not here for that. I will defend her to my grave.
And I agree that she's too hot for anyone in this movie. She should've dated Alice. Or Jessica. They have more personality than Fred.

The biggest problem for me was the way every make character treated Bella. Everyone wanted to be her owner or something.

The first one is okay, actually - like you said, if you think of it as just a silly vampire movie, it's quite entertaining. The second one is honestly the worst film I've ever seen, though - I am still angry that I'll never get the time I spent watching it back.
