Mine was the same, bunch of water. I flushed with diesel fuel twice. Till clean. Then filled with the Gear oil Worked good. get some "Awsome" oxy ulta dish soap from the Dollar store to clean your hands. I found its the best and cheapest hand cleaner for grease, and oils. Thanks for the video!
51518 filter goes upfront by radiator for shuttle. 51760 filter goes under middle for hydraulics. If u want napa or not drop the 1st 5 from the numbers. I have a 580B too.
@@GRTRanchadventures please let me know if im wrong. But i got same info that that51518 filter was for where u were putting it. It must be listed as hydraulic filter for both and the shuttle shows up 1st. I went thru same problem u did.
@@magoo_1990 I put the 51518 in both places , but as you saw in the video I pulled the bottom of the 51760 and put it on the 51518... As far as I can tell that's the only difference between them and they were the same length so far it's working and I don't think it's bypassing the hydraulic filter but I'll track down the right one for the next change
next to radiator for shuttle: Book calls for A51463 (25 micron = 0.000984251968503937) after s/n 8709200 filter # A39578 (10 micron = 0.000393700787401574 inches) for earlier s/n (smaller particles being filtered than in newer s/n machines) Why did Case allow over twice as large size of particles in later versions? I don't know if my parts book has been superseded and I don't have my version/print date
question for all...i have been searching the net (I know dangerous) about gl4 and gl5 gear oil. my 480D manual says GL4 reading everything it says GL5 is bad for synchros and yellow metal is there any of that in the transaxle/dif? I know the power shuttle uses trans hyd fluid....any help is appreciated
Man your vids are saving me big time with my '74 580B CK. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making these!
glad to help
Thanks for posting! We just picked up a used 580CK and I will get on this quickly! Blessings!

Why didn't you use the outriggers to raise the backhoe instead of cutting the bucket down? 9:13
@@kenbaker2850 I don't like working under equipment that's only held by hydraulics and I don't have any stands stout enough to support the backhoe
Is there a filter for the final drive system?

I laughed out loud when you said you hit your head on that bucket lol. Thank you for that. That was alot of water! dang. how is she running now?
Still going strong I just used it as an engine hoist on my current dozer project. Worked great!!!
Change gear shift boot to keep water out.
