My moms cousin did the carpet in his gym. He said when it was time to give him the bill, he yelled up the stairs, "Bob Barker..Come on down!"..he said Bob just laughed..lol
That’s funny! 😂😂😂😂
Sure
A carpet in a gym???? 🤔 Well, hopefully he paid the bill and on time! LOL
Loved this man watched all the time that I could anyway❤️
😂😂😂😂❤
Every single sick day growing up and staying home from school simply meant that I’d watch the Price is Right show.
I’m obviously older - I came home from school for lunch and watched “ Truth or Consequence s”
Same here!
@@judytruesdell6816 I'm 58 years old and I remember watching the reruns. There will never be television like what we grew up with. My favorite show to this day is Andy Griffith I could watch Andy Griffith show reruns every day all day and laugh and never get sick of them
I Loved Bob Barker and the Price is right. Bars on the Windows, that is kind of depressing. I guess if you live in LA or Cal?
So funny you said this.
I almost made the same comment. I knew someone else would have that memory too. 😂
Whenever my friends & I talk about being home sick without fail every person brings up watching TPIR. Such a wholesome & nostalgic thing many of us have in common.
Bob Barker was the Johnny Carson of Game Show hosts. Thank you Bob Barker for 50 plus years of entertaining America.
Johnny Carson was the Bob Barker of late Night
❤❤❤
I respect his support for animals.
He was smart to own a relatively modest home and not waste his money on huge elaborate mansions all over the world, like the idiots do today, living far beyond their means as if tomorrow will never come. He was smart.
Yes! He absolutely knew "You can't take it with you", and planned to leave his millions to organizations he cared about, rather than multiple gaudy mansions.
He put his money where his mouth was even after his death. Class act.
In Dec of 74, I won my game and then the showcase on The Price is Right. (It aired in Jan of 75) I will always be appreciative that after 5 tries, I made it on the show. I sold almost everything I won and put a down payment on my first house. I was quite poor at the time. This gave me the big step my family needed to propel us forward. We sold that house as we grew as a family. I got my degree and became a healthcare worker. Bob was a complete professional and talked to me during commercials. It was a very defining point in my life.
A kind and caring man he was a voice for the animals and donated so much to help them.
I'm 52 and he was a great to skip school home sick watching the price is right
The fact that he gave so much to help animals was the topping on the cake for me! It puts him over the top!
Minus his possibly long-term unwanted treatment of young women.
Watch it, I’ve seen countless episodes where those “young women” pawed all over Bob (especially Diane). I believe Bob that it was “consensual”.
I loved Bob Barker and the old Price Is Right!
RIP Bob🌸
Years ago, while visiting the area in which Mr Barker resided, I met him walking one of his dogs. He was elderly and frail looking. But he was delighted to chat with us for a while. A true gentleman and genuine animal activism supporter. . RIP
I'm proud of Him for loving animals ❤
With compassion for the elephant in the zoo, I must agree with Bob to have it re-homed to a sanctuary. Being confined in a zoo for it's whole life is cruel.
He was raised in a zoo and should be put where he is not familiar? do you wanna do that?
I'd like to add that zoos today aren't the metal bars and chained animal displays that they used to be. Efforts have been made and continue to be made to make their habitats more and more like their natural environment in the wild, minus the poachers and having to hunt down ( or gather ) their food. I live near Philadelphia and love the Nation's first zoo's catwalks ❤ Love it in the summer when they give the herbivores their food encased in ice cubes! These animals are absolutely loved and spoiled 😂
yup, team Bob on this one.
@@abitoutside1973 Elephants are herd animals that have a social structure. He has a right to be with others of his kind and have space to roam. He should not have to live in solitary confinement in a zoo.
@@AlexaLake1 after a life in a zoo, will it fit with its "own kind"?
He wasn't a saint but he was always a class act and was grateful.
Bob Barker was the gold standard as a game show host .
@ 27jtroyer Amen! Everyone else are just wannabes. Loved his clear, distinct voice also. Complete package of a TV host.
"He often waved and happily greeted fans who drove by his house, except the ones driving a hearse". Scott Michaels gold right there!! Great video, hope they don't tear down that glorious house and put up some ugly monstrosity. #spayandneuteryouranimals.
Over the past few years I've had to remind people that Bob Barker was still alive. The last conversation that I had about this was about a month ago. Not sure why people thought that he had died YEARS ago. Thanks for this. I appreciate it. He was an American Icon.
Mandela Effect
I had many conversations with my family and friends that I could swear he passed years ago.
I thought he died years ago also. Maybe a couple years after he left the Price is Right.
What was Betty thinking. An elephant in a zoo doesn’t raise awareness. Most people, except animal activists, on day to day basis don’t think about that. That animal should be in a sanctuary. Zoos should be stopped completely. I don’t blame Bob. Don’t use welfare of a caged animal to raise awareness, other wise no better then the zoo keeper s.
I went thru the same thing at work, I think they confused him w Hugh Hefner, another mature man surrounded by beutiful women at work.
The day before he passed I was wondering how he was doing. I was sad to hear of his passing the next day, but happy he could once again be with his Dorothy Jo.🌹
That was a God nudge letting you know he was about to leave us.
@@joycebrackbill-henderly8311 Yes, I believe so too. 🫶
I miss the morning game shows which went right into the soap operas. These morning talk shows followed by more talk is garbage t.v. I bet those lines waiting to be in t.v audience are gone in Hollywood. I so loved Hollywood. Hey, back in the day I even had a ride with you. LIFE CHANGES. I am so happy I was born right in the middle of the best generation of all time. Great video . Hope all is well your way .❤
Thanks, Scott for the fantastic tribute. I grew up in the 70s watching Bob with my grilled cheese on a TV tray. It was the best!
Thank you Scott for this lovely and respectful tribute to Bob. RIP Bob Barker.
RIP Bob!
I have recently retired but as a young kid in elementary school loved watching Mr. Barker, his team, and the most honorable announcer, John Olson. Another game show host, Gene Rayburn, I was a huge fan of. It was only recently that I realized that Gene's announcer was the same John Olson! All three were a class act and made me laugh and smile. Hollywood could learn alot from these three today. Thank you, Mr. Barker, Mr. Olson, and Mr. Rayburn.
I met this man in the late 60s at a party. My mom loved game shows so she was excited to see him. He always seem like a very nice man I have nothing bad to say about him. God bless the vintage times from the 60s and 70s I miss them so much.
My favorite Bob Barker quote was about his reply when someone asked him if he had served “in the war”. The war being WWII of course. He said he told them, “Yes, I was a US Naval aviator. In the War of 1812.” 🤣
Both Mr. Barker and Ms. White came of age professionally when Television was in its infancy. Over the years, they became equally BIG time Television stars who brought style and class to whatever they did. They were pros through and through. This is how I choose to remember them. This is a great segment. I love it. Thanks for sharing.
I always watched Bob when sick from school or work. It was the highlight of those days. My sis and I would play along to see who would win and she was dang good at knowing prices. Rest in peace Bob.
Thank you, Scott, for this overview of Bob Barker's career!
The only thing missing here is the story behind his signature super-thin microphone...
My most memorable Bob Barker moment
I remember a particular show, once he kept his silver-hair look; he came out on the main stage wearing a pure white suit, the jacket, shirt and pants were all the same pure white. The only color items he wore was a blue silk tie and matching pocket hankie.
He was so stunningly dressed that the crowd went wild! Bob tried in vain to calm it down; it took so long he didn't have time for his usual show-opening banter and had to start the first bid of the show to quiet things down.
That's how I like to think he's dressed, in Heaven, wowing even the angels!
Thank you, Bob Barker, for all the great memories!
Thanks for sharing
Bob’s angel moment in his white suit!
Such A Great Fighter For Animal Rights And A Devoted Animal Lover ~ God Bless Bob Barker And Much Thanks To Him Always N Forever❣🐾🌈🕊💋
He donated and matched donations for The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, MN for years! They have a building named after him. He leaves some rather large shoes to fill in the animal advocacy world for sure! I was so sick growing up that he felt like another grandparent to me as much as I watched him at my great grandmother's house. Loved Bob and all of his crazy fans!
What a wonderful tribute to as you said, "one of the world's best hosts" (and I agree). I believe Bob Barker was a gentleman right until the end. Thanks for entertaining me for many years Mr. Barker. May you and your wife rest in peace!
The show was successful, Bob Barker was a great host, and made it fun to watch and participate! His love of animals and concerns for their rights was ! admirable and endeared him to many. He was cordial, inviting, funny and seemed to enjoy well , the humor
However, being called a “gentleman”, is pushing the envelope! Was he being a “gentleman”, as I’m sure he was polite, as he grinned showing his white-brite, shiny teeth, like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, forcing himself upon his models, as he basically robbed them of their dignity, under threat of being released from their employment?!
No concern here, for the models, nor the unfair and incredulous demands of his egotistical gaslighting narcissism, that he presented to these lovely ladies, who did their jobs well, served the show and audience with grace, and never thought this could happen to them!
Was this being a “ gentleman?
It’s so disappointing, when an, otherwise enjoyable person, falls from his pedestal, by being a human and giving in to his deplorable other side.
Women are equally to be respected and even God has spoken this into His Word! Respecting one another!
@@pattih7 I'm with you, and why aren't more people talking about this? We STILL have a long way to go, ladies. I'm 70 years old. I was a model, then a business owner in a man's world. The stories I could tell you would blow your socks off!
Great tribute to Mr. Barker.. I absolutely recall you telling us while on your Dearly Departed Tour in August / 2007 that he would often wave and greet the Tour Vans as they came by. Our Daughter Tiffany on a trip to California was actually a audience member on "The Price Is Right " .. prior to 2007 .. Appreciate all you do Scott, Liz in Ontario ..❤
Thank you, Bob, for your passion regarding animal rights . RIP
I hope he and his wife are happy together in heaven. ❤ What a badass.
You hope... God might hold him responsible for alot of animals having their no no parts snipped off.
And all his lovers.
They may be together in heaven but they are not married there.
Love him or not the greatest game show host of all time.nobody else had the calm smooth manner of him.todays hosts would do well to study and learn from his decades of work.
Most arrogant host ever.
I'll take Alex Trebek
Drew.Carey has done a great job as his replacement. No one is like Bob Barker
I'll take Drew Carey any day!
Thanks for this video. Bob and I followed each other on Twitter several years ago. We chatted privately in messages. I told him I was a huge fan. I found out that despite his not eating meat, he was ultra conservative & a real patriotic American. His womanizing didn't ever get discussed because I never pry into people's preferences in that respect
Great man. Great, long life. Thank U Bob for helping the animals ♥️
Bob Barker's memorial show on The Price is Right, was both moving and funny. I will never forget many of the segments !!
When I was a child growing up in New Britain CT, my maternal grandmother (who was French Canadian) used to watch TPIR every day. She learned her English, how to grocery shop and pricing of food and other items. And so did I. Bob Barker was an incredible man who played an integral role in education in my family, many years ago.
He respected his role and it showed in his demeanor and code of attire. He was a class act. RIP Mr. Barker.🙏✝️
Thank you for his story. He did live a long long life and we should all be grateful for that. Well those peiple who loved game shows
❤Bob was a handsome man in his early years .I always watch Bob Barker ,lets make a deal .when i was sick at home .Thank you Scott Michaels for sharing this video 📸
Handsome in his later years as well. And so distinguished with that silver hair
Been watching The Price Is Right since way back in 1972 when i was 7 years old! Always played sick from going to school from time to time just so I could watch this show!! Oh and Popeye cartoons lol
Nearly thirty years ago, I contracted broadcast engineering services through two editing and production services agencies (on a part-time and somewhat sporadic basis). Starting in the mid-1980's, and immediately prior to her "Golden Girls stint", Betty White, financed, produced, and scripted 'informational shorts, bordering on public service announcements' which, with assistance from friends and 'like-minded individuals', were distributed to second and third tier TV broadcast markets and movie theaters through a 501-C-III non-profit animal rights 'informational charity' which she helped to form after Alan Ludden's passing.
I was a second-unit editor on one of those projects. She paid well, was actually "damned pleasant to work with", so-much-so, that at times it was loads of fun being at work!
Her "refined, sarcastic passive agressivity" was almost beyond comprehension!
Definitely one damn cool person!
There is something so very wrong in a country which prides itself on caring so much for animals while at the same time every day about 3000 babies are murdered in their mother’s wombs.
I lived in Frazier Park,CA. Bob barker had a wolf sanctuary. I had a boyfriend who worked there. He said they treated the wolves really good. And paid the workers good.
The only thing he saw was the humane society came and put down a bunch because they were sick with something they could pay to fix but the humane society said they had to get put down.
😮😮😢😢
I used to have a German Shepard wolf cross, the most loving fur baby . Your comment doesn’t surprise me about the humane society . Up here , the SPCA does little for animals in distress . Again , Barker not doing research .
Good to know and yes, not surprising they would choose to euthanize. Sad.
He lived to be 99 and the media scumbags kept saying he only had so much time to live? They and all of us would love to live that long!! I loved him he was such a big part of my life growing up and really looked forward to watching the price is right with my family. Rest in peace good buddy!!!
Helluva man. Thank you for this lovely memorial. ♥️
Barker put his foot down on furs being shown on Price. Dorothy Jo was also a vegetarian and animal rights activist. He always walked his talk on this issue and even marched in demonstrations for animal rights.
It's funny, I haven't seen anyone wearing a fur coat since about the 80's.(& I live in Canada which is REALLY cold !) Maybe they do but I've never seen it.
@@peggypeggy4137 I'm from Chicago and people do up there in some social situations, but it's usually a certain age who does. Most of the big furriers are out of business because of humane reasons. A lot of the fakes are pretty decent, but there are also materials out there yet that insulate better and are friendlier to the animals. 😉
Remember when Bob was accused of being inappropriate at work?
He was so old when that happened
He was around for decades
Very public person
Yes, he was a pig
I’m an old man, I thought I paid for the batteries, where am I? Can someone give me a ride home?
That was a job well done to you and your friend, Lisa!!! I thoroughly enjoyed your video even though I cried a lot! 😢
Bob Barker was the King of the Gameshows! I also loved Alex Trebek!!! Thanks for all the work that you put into your videos!!! At 58, and suffering from R.A., they are so interesting to watch (takes my mind off my pain) when I can't get around...which is a lot! Thanks again! 😊👍
~Juliette in NY
I am with you! I'm in pain daily and the worst is in my sacoilaic bone. Stabbing pain!! But these type of UA-cam shows relax me and take me back in time when I had no pain and times were less evil.
@@joycebrackbill-henderly8311 I am so sorry, Joyce. It makes functioning such a struggle. I hate the drugs I have to take. I am switching to supplements again. Turmeric...tart cherry...Omega 3...olive leaf extract...and others like probiotics. Fingers crossed! I hope you have better days ahead with some relief!!!😊
I became a big Bob Barker fan while he was doing the price is right. I first saw him on Truth or Consequences and he did a great job as host of that show and the price is right. He is with the LORD in Heaven and grateful to God for that.
You just gave away your age if you remember that tv show. Lol
@@LasVegas68I remember Truth or Consequences. I'm 60.
Great memories for Bob who so many of us grew-up with. Loved the tv footage!
My niece went on The Price and had a great experience with Bob and they shared a real kiss. ❤
I always really liked Bob Barker! He seemed like such a gentleman and was so handsome! When I hear that iconic Price is Right theme song, it makes me feel like a kid again enjoying the show! What a great message about taking care of the pet population too!
Very thoughtful and well done. 👍
Thankyou for your time for making this for us. Bob would be pleased with this special tribute ❤️.
my one and only interaction i had with Mr Barker wasn't the best. on my 18th birthday (1974) we went to Price is Right. while i didn't make it on the show, we noticed that he
was not friendly at all with the people that worked there, and didn't once act like he was enjoying his job. never interacted with the audience during commercials.
may be that he had a less desirable day the day you were there.....maybe they had contract negotiations, or his wife was ill and he was unable to be with her for tests and appointments that day, or his stockbroker called saying his $500k investment was gone, or his cat hadn't come home the night previous, or ....the list goes on... :-)
A valet at a popular hotel in New Orleans said Bob could be arrogant and was demanding.
@handyjones7626 yeah i was 18 and didn't expect to make the show .l probably would have just cried the entire time
Thank you so much for doing this Scott!! 🤗
I grew up with Bob Barker as so many of us did, sick days from school, and work as I got older. 🤗 we always watched The Price is Right. And then Perry Mason 👍🏻
I’m English so have never heard of this gentleman.
He sounds such a genuine kind person.
I hope the negative stories are false.
P.s. very handsome as well!
Always remember when it was announced that Bob Barker was going into retirement, some one said Price is Right with out Bob Barker is like Niagara Falls without water 💧. RIP Mr. Barker.❤ From Canada 🇨🇦
Man I always get excited when I see you post a new video, I love the stories❤❤❤❤
The photo of ol' Bobby glaring at the hearse is timeless. These videos always guarantee a smile or two, as ironic as that is!
Scott what a great video and Bob Barker will be missed by a lot pf people and Thank you Scott for sharing with us and everything you do.
One thing I have always respected Bob Barker for is reminding people to spay and neuter their dogs and cats.
Yes, me too
Such a beautiful legacy. He prevented so much suffering
Animals shouldn't be spayed, neutered. So much for now for Bob buying a animal off of me now.😅
Yeah, he always cared more about mindless animals than human beings
Yes !!!
I had no idea that they had been in a fued. So interesting. I filmed his house a few years ago. I love that neighborhood. Nice story!
Thank you Scott for taking the time and effort to give us these videos
It was a shock to me, in both ways, the first shocker that Bob Barker wasn't prepared for this "death" thing, when "death" eventually got to him, first. Other than all the health problems/controversy he has been through, he has lived the longest life, ever, thanks to a vegetarian diet and exercise. He also almost outlived everyone and everybody who came to the earth, and passed on. The second shocker that nobody knew Bob Barker had Alzheimer's Disease and bad cholesterol. He was healthy up until the Saturday, he passed, who could have been 100. What a legend! May he #RIP! (1923 - 2023)!
Makes sense that he had Alzheimer's Disease as it is linked to cholesterol and plaques forming in the arteries of the brain. Probably had FH (familial hypercholesterolemia), genetics. Being vegetarian kept him alive longer.
That Happy Gilmore cameo is in my top 10 if not top 5 of movie scenes. I laugh my ass off every time I watch it.😂❤
As always, thanks for an excellent narrative of a beloved star that we don't want to forget.
Thank you, Scott! So well done.
My step-brother was on TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES. A Marine who had never met his son.
At 99..and being a home. That is a blessing.
I agree with Bob on Billy the elephant. A sanctuary after years of being at a zoo are well deserved.
Exactly. ♥️
Then you don't understand animals.
Fixing what isn't broken so YOU feel better is cruel.
Elephants develope deep bonds. He's obviously healthy & thriving. He's adapted to life in the zoo. You'd be taking him out of his comfort zone. His home. For the reason that you THINK he'd prefer somewhere else. After being perfectly settled where he is. He would have to go through a whole transition process mentally. His body would have to adapt to a different environment.
He'd probably be sad & stressed for a little while. After all they don't forget. He will grieve his caretakers.
Does all that seem like it's in Billy's best interest?
Both are good points. Caretaker is long gone now. He probably had a few. I think Billy is ok. He didn’t die from a broken heart. Also they are heard species. He’s not alone anymore. 🥰
Bob and Betty both made it to 99…. Luved them …Thank you for the love and laughter RIP
Excellent presentation Scott, well done!
Well his vegetarian diet worked. Living to a ripe old age of 97. I always loved him on the game shows. I thought he was very comical and the show went along smoothly with a lot of laughs. He will be missed.❤
He was a few months short of being 100.
Thank you so much for this video, I grew up watching Bob Barker and loved his tv shows! I didn’t realize he has Alzheimer’s, my Mom did also. He lived a long life and was a great entertainer and host! Also a wonderful philanthropist, I’m sure his charities were thrilled with his donations.
Awww, Happy memories!! Thank You So Much. 🥰
THANK YOU❤❤❤A wonderful send off to Bob ! He was Truly Loved !❤❤❤
Bob was a true animal rights activist. Betty promoted captivity and upset me greatly.
Activism & advocacy are as different as rights & welfare.
Very different approaches and, ultimately, goals.
Associating with PETA is contra to helping animals.
Scott Michaels and Dearly Departed Tours!! I haven’t seen you in ages. Not since you did a tour on where Sharon Tate lived in Hollywood. That’s the last tour I saw. It’s great to see you on here again! Following you! Again!
My 8-year-old grandson is a fan of The Price Is Right reruns. Bob Barker's legacy lives on. He was in a class by himself.
On Tattle Tales they asked Bob > Which of you two is most self-disciplined ? Bob answered himself because Dorthie is the only one in Hollywood that smokes, then she died of cancer in less than 4 years. Thanks to UA-cam Bob is immortal, you can watch all the episodes you missed while you were at school or work.😉 Thanks, nice tribute.
Thanks Bob for the great years of entertainment and enjoyment! Rest in peace!❤
Great tribute to Bob.
Great presentation Scott! Loved it
Such a beautiful precious tribute!!
Great video , thank you !
R you did a very respectful bio on Bob Barker abd others. Si nice of you. God bless you❤
Great video. Interesting to bring up Barker and Betty White in one video. They had a lot of things in common. Their own game shows, appearing on Tattletales with their spouses, their spouses dying the same year in 1981 and them never to remarry after that. And then of course both dying at the age of 99.
We loved the show so much here in New Mexico we changed the name of our city (formerly Hot Springs, NM) to: Truth or Consequences, NM! Now those are dedicated fans!😁😁😁
What's weird is that they (Bob and Betty)were both cordial to each other in the 1970's and 1980's and later years up til that falling out. They even sat next to each other on Match Game for a week in 1979.
What happened?
Thanks Man, that was terrific! And thanks Lisa for the video footage.
Another great one, Scott. Thanks!
You have an amazing wealth of knowledge. I love your videos. Each is a treasure. Lots I didn't know, which I love. And I love and adore you too ! God bless 🧡🙏🏻 jomama
l grew up watching him when he was the host of both shows too me he was such a kind person
Great video, loved the house pics with backstories. Enjoyed it 👍, more please Scott.
More to come and Thank YOU!
Bob Barker endured with his fun and seemingly effortless interactions with the contestants as well as knowing where to stand, how to handle the game props and boards, and how to react during the game play in the various and many Price Is Right pricing games. Bob Barker was trained in karate under Chuck Norris, who was his next door neighbor. to prepare for the famous Adam Sandler fight scene in Happy Gilmore.
The Price is Right with Bob Barker is being shown 24/7 on Roku TV. The nostalgia runs rampant.
What a beautiful life…. And beautiful memories he left so many I’d us. ❤
*I agree with Betty.*
Like Zoos Children go to places like SeaWorld and leave there wanting to protect and save the whales, dolphins and other sea life in the wild. Kids don't fall in love with and get attached to a picture in a book. It's the lifelong bonds children create while at the Zoos and Wild Life parks that get them to want to save these animals in the wild. They do much more for animal conservation that a Reserve that no one can visit.
