So...Bonny Lee Bakley's family didn't want to be present at her funeral for "moral reasons", but had no problem being paid to do a commentary on the live-cast. Then they sued the father of her child, who had custody, for millions. The lawsuit derailed Blake's custody, and guardianship of Rose was won by her half-sister, Delinah, Blake's daughter from his first marriage. Rose suffered from anxiety and depression and required therapy for her family issues, but was reconciled with Robert Blake when she was 18. It is always the innocents who suffer. As she sat in the car his hired gunman shot her and ran off. This is common. Men seething with anger at a woman for a pregnancy while refusing to take responsibility for the fact that THEY should have used a condom to make sure it was prevented.
I remember hearing the tape recording of that phone call on news program not long after her murder, and it was very disturbing. In 1993 Robert Blake starred in the excellent television movie “Judgement Day: The John List Story”. He played John List, a man who killed his mother, wife, and kids in 1971 and evaded justice for decades until the tv show “America’s Most Wanted” did a show about him. It’s one of the most disturbing movies I’ve ever seen, but what stands out in my mind is that I watched it in 1993 and was freaked out by how well Robert Blake played a such a cold blooded killer, it was like he wasn’t even acting. You can see that movie for free on youtube.
@@RobGa66 Yes, that was also a fantastic performance. But the killer he played in that movie was just a white trash low life. John List was more creepy than Norman Bates: a middle aged, very uptight and religious accountant living in a huge mansion in a very wealthy area of New Jersey who just kills his entire family. The way they were killed and how he arranged their bodies was unbelievably creepy. The way Robert Blake became him, and even looked like him, was so flawless it was scary.
Ghost clothes. My great aunt passed in her 80’s. Mom went to visit her best friend who was elderly and was unable to attend funeral due to health. She told mom that she came to her and described in detail the clothes she was wearing. New clothes that mom had bought for her to be buried in.
I'll go out on a limb with this. Blake started out as a child actor in the 30s. Today, we all know that many child actors are, taken advantage of, and it messes them up for life. Bonny Lee was just another person in Blakes life that wanted something from him and used him. I think he snapped. I don't think he did it himself, but had someone else do it. The man had had enough, she was a grifter and all he really had was a run down ranch and was pretty frugal with his money. As I recall, she wasnt even living with him in the ranch, she was living in a guest house behind the ranch. Her gig was up and he couldnt get rid of her with a divorce, she was threatening him and the relationship was very volatile. Wikipedia also states that he was physically and sexually abused by both of his parents. Great Actor with a lot of bad things that happened to him
The reason I believe that he probably did it, is because NOBODY else would throw the murder weapon right there in the dumpster. If you are a criminal, a thief, a jilted lover, a serial killer, random murderer, juvenile thug, etc., you are going to take your weapon with you. You may get rid of it later, but you are not going to leave it at the scene!! Blake had to dump it there really quickly, as he could not leave the scene. He was trapped there. So, anything else does not make sense!! I know some criminals are not the brightest, but nobody is going to leave the murder weapon there, plus they wiped it clean of fingerprints, first. Nobody else could afford to take that extra time. They would run off with the weapon, and clean it away from the scene, and get rid of it. Very suspicious!! Points to guilt on Blake.
It used to be common for mafia hitmen to drop their weapon at the scene of a hit. They used untraceable guns, and it was far better to leave it behind rather than getting caught with it.
I agree. Mafia hitmen famously ditch the gun as soon as possible. They don't care if it's found by police. They will wear gloves so no fingerprints and the gun is always illegal and untraceable.
@@swimlaps1I disagree. The id etched off is precisely what a hitman would use. And the fact it was a foreign gun is irrelevant. It doesn't make a difference where the gun was manufactured.
@@swimlaps1 The gun was a Walther PPK. It was a German made gun that was made in large quantities during WWII. Because there were so many out there, they were used in a lot of movies, so there were probably many available in LA.
It looks like Dean & Bonnie we’re in the restaurant he regularly had dinner in. Does not prove a relationship. She could have just walked up & asked for a photo. She could have used the photo in a variety of ways.
After Dean Paul’s tragic crash, Martin spiraled into an increasingly deeper depression. He had his dinner at the same hour, same table, exactly specific meal nearly every evening. The restaurant was nearby Martin’s longtime residence; not in The Valley (as is Vitello’s). Martin, so deeply depressed, did not converse with anyone while eating (unless absolutely necessary). B.B. may have found a way to violate a boundary and invade his privacy-however, I know nothing of the said photo.
When it comes to these celebrity crimes,i thought OJ took the cake, but Robert Blake saying he didn't kill a woman who was extorting him and then claim he left her at the car to go back to the restaurant to retrive his gun.....if that were true, imagine the look on the bus boys face when he cleaned that table. Matter of fact that woman also shook down Marlon Brandos son as well. I'm surpised he wasnt the one to do it,since he has some experience in that area...
It says a lot about a person that more than one person says "well, one day I always knew she'd piss off the wrong person" about. Clearly if Robert didn't do it, someone would in due time. Why people give this woman's death any more than a shoulder shrug is beyond me. That's not to say she "deserved it'" just that I'm not wasting tears on a self-serving crummy person. Ya reap what ya sow, lady.
Because after OJ’s high profile case, the media wanted to find another celebrity potentially getting away with murder. They didn’t find very much, so they went with this one
That Record... I mean come on..🥴 I'm cringing all the way over here in Australia... Haha ha... Poor Woman was Delusional ; not to mention an absolute Joke.. LOLOLL
Very simple. The burden of proof in a civil trial is preponderance of the evidence, which means 50.0001% more likely than not. In a criminal case, the burden of proof, as you say, is beyond a reasonable doubt. This is a much more difficult standard than preponderance of the evidence. That's why someone can be found liable in a civil trial and not guilty in a criminal trial for the same act. Now you never have to wonder again.
Looks like he set it up and most likely hired someone. He collected old rare guns. The gun used was an old rare gun. He just happened to walk away at the exact moment. They also wanted the gun found to prove he didn't have his prints on it.
Isn't it true that Bonnie WAY over estimated Robert Blake's "fortune"? Christian Brando didn't have anything either. They were both kinda scuzzy for messing with her. I always felt bad for the child.
I followed this case on CourtTV back when it happened. They had a very active message board community back then. I remember the biggest issue the prosecution had was the timeline and lack to GSR and blood residue. I can't remember the details, but from the time on his CC receipt, to the time he came back in and asked them to call police, it was a very short window of time and given all the things he was known to have done during that time, there wasn't any time for him to have cleaned up. It's entirely possible he had someone else kill her. He hung out with some shady guys who might have been willing to do it, but there really wasn't any evidence for it. I think the jury made the right decision.
I followed this too back then, it was my first real true crime case obsession. I also think he had one of his shady friends do it. It's probably worth another in-depth documentary because although this video was good, there is tons more fascinating info about this case, about her background, and his. He picked the wrong woman to have an affair with, she picked the wrong man to grift from. If I remember correctly there's a book about the case that is worth finding that fills in all the details.
@@VintageFLA no one should be killed like that but there are so many people who had means and reason. I seriously doubt Blake killed her and he didn't hire anyone either. It would be nice and neat if he did and I know so many want him to be the killer but he wasn't. Blake left her alone and in a not so good neighborhood so he lost the civil case.

The upward trajectory of the bullets is very interesting. She was sitting in a car. Robert then perhaps ducked down or crouched before firing at her? Maybe she never saw it coming.....
Unfortunately she lived a life of criminality & it caught up with her . The ex seemed to be right about her demise . And yes its obvious Blake was the killer .
Years ago I heard Blake had a place in Pinedale, Wyoming where he threatened some hunters fir inadvertently crossing his property. Appears he was a very troubled and disturbed man and dangerous as well.
Heres the thing though when Blake went and got help and went back to the car his wife was still alive, they said she was breathing if he shot her she would know he did, im saying i dont think he would leave her alive that would be really dumb, so i think he was innocent. And she had so many other enemies idk 🤷♂️
Bonnie had many people who wanted her dead, could have been any one of them. If Blake did it he did it to protect his daughter from a vile grifter and scum who was her mother.

I think the Walther had been in his waistband, but he removed as he sat in the booth to eat his meal.
Thanks Scott. I think he did it out of love for little Rose. He probably didnt want her growing up around that grifter!
Just made that horrible song my ringtone. Luckily nobody calls me
By the way..what's yer number?...😜
The NSA just developed an app with top engineers to overlay that ring tone onto terrorists phones. You inspired them.

If they had played that at David Koresh's compound repeatedly, I am very sure everyone would have left the compound.
Have eaten many times at Vitello’s, & had the “Robert Blake” dish on the menu. Often saw Blake around Studio city. Gruff & curt guy.
I ate that dish too. Also had the Lukather (sp) dish.
He also played a killer in the movie ‘In Cold Blood.’
Blake also played a killer " In Cold Blood"
Say what you will he was a good actor.
@@ginajennings1664 maybe he didn't have to act.
Wow what another great informative video
Scott , you are always entertaining !!!!!😊
Ghost clothes. My great aunt passed in her 80’s. Mom went to visit her best friend who was elderly and was unable to attend
funeral due to health. She told mom that she came to her and described in detail the clothes she was wearing. New clothes that mom had bought for her to be buried in.
Scott always has my brain tingling after watching his work. Many thanks to you.
This was the only case I can recall that I knew someone killed another person and I still wanted them to be acquitted.
Same.
Me too. He was trying to protect his daughter from being raised by that liar and grifter con artist of a mother.
Who
Who would park blocks away from the restaurant in the dark with no sreetlight behind a dumpster?
Good point
An that's the name of that tune.....lotta suckers wanted revenge. She took them for 10 houses.
Great Actor with a lot of bad things that happened to him
Both his parents? That's horrible
It's incredible that he lived as long as he did. He was certainly a survivor.
Plus, a unique foreign gun with ID etched off. A hired killer likely would not have.
Scott love ❤️ your channel. Thanks for all you do
Always interesting Scott....
Love your videos. Completely off topic, but I’m in love with the curtains behind you when you’re going over the autopsy results ☺️
I’m surprised that she caught the eye of Dean Martin. Thanks for sharing.
He probably couldn't see well at his old age
By that time, Dean was probably near death or so old he didnt notice or care.
I’m not surprised. He looked like an emaciated skeleton when he met her.
I always found it devilishly iron “Hey wife that I hate, I forgot my gun be back!” *Gets shot in car by gun, while forced baby daddy went to get gun*
@@laffytaffy2916 I know! I'm surprised he even mentioned that.... Hey Robert. Your wife was shot... What?! No way!
Christian Brando: he had some experience in that area. LOL
@@laffytaffy2916maybe she just took her own life
@@keepitsimple4629it’s true
Much like the Nicole Simpson Brown gravestone mentioned in the previous video, she has the surname of her ‘probable’ killer listed there
It says a lot about a person that more than one person says "well, one day I always knew she'd piss off the wrong person" about.
So suspicious, parked so far away from the restaurant. Definitely believe Blake had her murdered.
Her first cousin/husband 😮
And father of her first child! Cue the banjo!
Bwaha!!! Deliverance 🪕
Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed. 😊
I cant help but think there was something poetic about her death. She always wanted to be famous, to be with the stars. Now she is.

That song made it justifiable homicide.
Scott thank you for another wonderful video! Wishing you and Troy the best!
I had immediately assumed Blake had done it,
but then again she ran a lot of scams and made a lot of enemies, so God only knows.
I love watching your channel :) Thank you !
Looks like he set it up and most likely hired someone. He collected old rare guns. The gun used was an old rare gun. He just happened to walk away at the exact moment. They also wanted the gun found to prove he didn't have his prints on it.
I lived in north Hollywood and would see Robert Blake at the store now and then. He made me really uncomfortable, he had a scary vibe.
Sure
As soon as you said how he had to return after forgetting his revolver, I spontaneously said, "As you do" only to hear you say the exact same thing!😊
Isn't it true that Bonnie WAY over estimated Robert Blake's "fortune"? Christian Brando didn't have anything either. They were both kinda scuzzy for messing with her. I always felt bad for the child.
Well, Blake's daughter raised her, so she lucked out, not being raised by Bonnie.
I don't believe there wasn't a closer parking space, he'd never walk that far......
I thought the same thing. He parked pretty far away. The hours shown on the police report look like they were there on the later side of the evening.
I'm surprised nobody in the houses around there didn't hear the gun shots?
Parking in LA is not easy to find…
He murdered her
Thanks Scott
BOY SHE WAS A REAL PEACH OF A WOMAN ! GOOD VIDEO SCOTT !!!!

She had men across the country that were very angry at her for stealing from them in the most cruel way, it could have been any of them that unalived her.
Opped?
The upward trajectory of the bullets is very interesting. She was sitting in a car. Robert then perhaps ducked down or crouched before firing at her? Maybe she never saw it coming.....
Sir you owe us , you owe us BIG TIME for not telling us to turn down the volume before Miss Thang began singing .THAT needed a warning ok ?
I had no idea she was so troublesome. Good video.
Oh my , and I thought Sophie Trudeau singing was bad ! My ear drums . Blake or his wife were awful . Birds of a feather .
The daughter Rose was on Kim Goldman's podcast and it was very interesting.
When was she on the show?
Didn’t know Kim had a podcast; I’ll check it out. She did some on-camera stuff for Crimewatch Daily, and I wanted to like it, but TV wasn’t her bag.
I think he did it.
That song......no words to describe. 😮
Bonnie had many people who wanted her dead, could have been any one of them. If Blake did it he did it to protect his daughter from a vile grifter and scum who was her mother.
Ty Scott for what u do. God bless you.
