My sister has Down syndrome she is now 33 and works and has a boyfriend 🥰 she is the sweetest person and she gives unconditionally ❤️ love… the world underestimates these special people! He is going to grow up and be more amazing than he already is ❤️
My second cousin had Downs Syndrome. He had a fantastic education, a job ( 2 jobs) and his own apartment! Pretty great as he was born in the late 1950’s when this was not as supported as it is these days. Fortunately, he was born into a progressive family with lots of educators. He was a huge blessing to all that knew him. ❤️
My son was a birth diagnosis as well. I was 27. My whole world changed and it was stressful at first and very overwhelming but now hes a 2 and a half year old thriving, although very delayed we are proud of the milestones he has reached thus far. Took a few days to process and accept but love him just the way he is. He was my first. Now we have an 8 month old typical girl as well and he learns from his sister
I found out my daughter had Down syndrome at birth. I can literally feel every emotion all over again when your husband was looking at you trying to tell you they think he has Down syndrome. That feeling … of the unknown, the surprise, happinesses, fear. All wrapped in one. My daughter is now 4 & I wouldn’t change a thing. I count her as one of my biggest blessings.. God knows exactly what he is doing. Happy Down syndrome day!
My grandson has Downs. He graduated from high school, is tech savvy, knows all the players on the Bears football team, and has a job 5 days a week. He's 33 now and smarter than all of us. 🥰
My heart goes out to this family. I have a 8 year old son with Down Syndrome. Sometimes I wish I'd known sooner so that we could have gotten him the help he needed. (My husband and I did not find out that our son had Trisomy 21 until he was around 2.5 years old) It can be a devastating blow initially. But when you learn that your child still has a chance at a productive life it is a bit of relief. God continue to bless the parents that have a child or children with special needs with strength, support and patience.
@@sobeliever1638 he didn't seem to have the distinct features like most of the babies that I have seen get diagnosed at birth. He has a 4 month picture where he looks "normal". When he was around 9months he had his shots and started looking a bit "drowsy" to me.
@T Jesus grants each of us various challenges. Most people aren't super heroes, they are ordinary heroes because they choose to think or behave in extraordinary ways day by day working with in the limitations they are given, rejoicing in life rather than living in their 'if only' world. It takes a lot of strength and character to recognize that your value is based on who you are, not want you are or own. I hope you come to understand this. Therefore, I salute you and will pray that in your disability you find the blessings God has for you in it
Same! I had a serious issue with the test, during pregnancy, for down syndrome etc. They give the test in time for you to make a choice of termination in case your baby isn't "perfect" ME, personally found it offensive. I'm just looking at it from a standpoint of the status of our society. Has a Hitler tone to it. But that was almost twenty years ago & I'm not even sure they do it anymore
God bless you Linda and your family with lots of love happiness joy peace patience prosperity good health and lots of success in your life and your family... keep smiling always...
During my current pregnancy, I was given the news that my baby might have downs syndrome and that crushed me. My husband and I were so scared and filled with confusion and sadness and worry if he would be ok. Luckily the doctors found out that he was going to be ok and that was a huge relief for us. After seeing this, I realize that even if my baby had downs, I would still love him and would be there for him no matter what. A mother's love is strong.
This brought back so many emotions from when I had my daughter 18 years ago. I was the last person to see her when she was born. Only, at the time they didn’t know what was wrong. Flash forward to 2019 we finally have a diagnosis, Coffin-Siris Syndrome. But in the last 18 years she’s been my miracle and I wouldn’t change a thing!
My grandson has Down syndrome but we don’t call that, we call Up syndrome. He is very smart and loving sweet young gentleman. We have learn so much in his 6 years he love to play jokes on people and I am usually the one he gets all the time. I wouldn’t change anything I love my baby to the moon and back.
(Not to take away from your story, just an FYI if you didn't know, "down" isn't negative at all, it's named after the doctor that first categorized the common features of the syndrome, Dr. John Down)
I have been a caregiver for the disabled for 10 years. I have watched many couples get married. Some with slight cognitive issues to some with downs and they have a happy prosperous life. One of my good friends has a brother with downs. He got married to another girl with it and they live alone. Amazing love story. My other friend was born to parents who were a bit cognitively off and she grew to be a beautiful woman and take care of her parents in her 30s.
My son is 9 months old, he's a miracle baby because I was told that due to my genetic chronic illness I would never be able to carry to term, and he was a wonderful surprise after a number of miscarriages. He was induced a month and a half early to save my life because of my high risk complications, and after three weeks in the NICU they told me had Downs, which they discovered while running genetic tests for my condition.Thankfully it is mosaic downs and he dodged all the health issues that can come with the extra chromosome. He's small for his age but incredibly healthy, strong, and so smart. Downs syndrome is a spectrum just like Autism, but a lack of awareness has made it so hard for them to be treated without prejudice. We don't tell anyone he has Downs, physically he doesn't show any of the characteristics yet and we are adamant that he will be given the exact same treatment and opportunities as any other child. His physicians have all agreed with me on this, to never make an assumption about his limits and just let him fly and so far he's actually ahead of the milestones for a baby his age and preemie. The news devastated me at first because I didn't want his life to be difficult, but then within a matter of hours it lit a fire in my soul to make damn sure he has every opportunity on earth at his disposal. I wouldn't change a thing about him outside of being able to make it to term before he was born, and my family is blessed to have this sweet, adorable, funny and intelligent little man in our lives.
My Uncle Kenny had Down Syndrome and was the most loving person I have ever known. He was smiles and kindness all the time and the entire family looked forward to seeing him at family reunions (we are talking a LOT of people and it was just immediate family, LOL!!) I miss him greatly.
I had a high risk pregnancy with my daughter but, I knew that she was everything I wanted in this world. I prayed for her constantly and I told God that I would love her no matter what complications, syndromes, ect. I have been so grateful for her. She was born a perfect preemie. I wouldn't change her for the world either. Good job mama. You are truly admired.
You can see the dad looking at him with love at 1:04. And she’s right every feeling is valid. Having all those emotions when finding out are okay. You just love your kids no matter what.
We are so fortunate as parents of children with down syndrome, they teach us what's important in life. I wouldn't change my daughter for anything. She just turned 20 earlier this month and we're SO proud of her accomplishments.
Being born with a birth defect, has taught me to just find different ways to do things! Keep challenging him and of course, as you do so much, love him. He’s got this!

What a lovely boy! The wonderful thing about Downs children is how cheerful and loving they are. I'm so happy you, in particular, were blessed with Micah, so their existence can be improved in society. You go, Girl!
@ella Great question. Down Syndrome is Trisomy 21 so it's not the opposite, just different. Trisomy means that there are 3 copies of the chromosomes instead of 2 the way it should be. So Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) means there are 3 chromosomes on the 21st pair and Trisomy 13 (Patau Syndrome) means the extra chromosome happened on the 13th pair. Trisomy 13 is more rare and has more severe complications unfortunately.
@ella I think the opposite of down syndrome is spina bifida. Because when my mom was pregnant with me, they did genetic testing and there was this test where if I had high levels it meant spina bifida and low levels meant down syndrome. My levels were kinda high so they thought I had spina bifida. But then they did more specific testing and determined I didn't have it.
People and children with Down Syndrome are the sweetest creatures, have the sweetest disposition in the world. Even when they become adults and grow old they retained this sense of innocence and sweetness in them. I had an aunt with Down Syndrome and she was a constant source of happiness in the family. 🥰

The dad too, what a loving man...
This baby has been blessed with a loving mom and dad!
My sister has Down syndrome she is now 33 and works and has a boyfriend 🥰 she is the sweetest person and she gives unconditionally ❤️ love… the world underestimates these special people! He is going to grow up and be more amazing than he already is ❤️
🥰🥰❤️❤️
🥰🥰🥰
people just dont like people who are different or they dont understand everyone needs to be more accepting
Very touching and she's blessed to have you as a sister.
Awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My second cousin had Downs Syndrome. He had a fantastic education, a job ( 2 jobs) and his own apartment! Pretty great as he was born in the late 1950’s when this was not as supported as it is these days. Fortunately, he was born into a progressive family with lots of educators. He was a huge blessing to all that knew him. ❤️
You said was?
If you don’t mind me asking, did something happen to him?
You should write his story, the world needs hear his story
@Mara Saiera That’s so sad. Hopefully in the future more treatments become available to help people with Down syndrome. Thank you for sharing that.
YOU LOVE THAT CHILD AND NEVER NEVER GIVE UP. REMEMBER THIS.
I totally agree with MJ!
"I wouldn't change Micah for the world but for you, I would change the world " absolutely beautiful.
I am so happy for you wish you and your little family all the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️😍
💙❤
🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a 2.5 year old son too. Born Sept 2019. God bless your child and wish your family all the best💙
My son was a birth diagnosis also and he is my first and 2 1/2 now as well. We are in Arizona.
How Amazingly Beautiful..."God knows exactly what He is doing!" 💖💖🙏🙏
❤❤❤
My grandson has Downs. He graduated from high school, is tech savvy, knows all the players on the Bears football team, and has a job 5 days a week. He's 33 now and smarter than all of us. 🥰
AMEN 🙏🏻 ☺️❤️
DS ppl are my favorite kind of ppl! They radiate so much positivity
That is interesting, couldn't they tell by his physical characteristics?
@@sobeliever1638 some people with mosaic down syndrome have less of the visible characteristics
@@sobeliever1638 he didn't seem to have the distinct features like most of the babies that I have seen get diagnosed at birth. He has a 4 month picture where he looks "normal". When he was around 9months he had his shots and started looking a bit "drowsy" to me.
Super sweet!!! I hate how people think children with disabilities are broken, they are super heroes!
@T a lot of people think like that, they just don’t say it.
Therefore, I salute you and will pray that in your disability you find the blessings God has for you in it
@Joe Mama ableist a**holes like YOU are the broken ones. F off!
Oh course their broken but aren't we all?!
I'm crying. You are great parents and your love for your children will help them thrive!
God bless you Linda and your family with lots of love happiness joy peace patience prosperity good health and lots of success in your life and your family... keep smiling always...
Made me cry, too. He is truly lucky to have such amazing parents.
@@samsondsouza5108 Thank you! Same to you :)

Micah a little angel awwww he looks like a amazing smart little guy God bless your family
He is the cutest! What a lucky boy to have such wonderful parents and what lucky parents to have a lovely little guy!!❤️❤️❤️
Omg i thought the same. He's so lucky to be born to beautiful family that can see all his potentials and love him so much. This makes me cry really😥
That’s awesome. Your family is wonderful for that kind of love and encouragement!
(Not to take away from your story, just an FYI if you didn't know, "down" isn't negative at all, it's named after the doctor that first categorized the common features of the syndrome, Dr. John Down)
Many, Many PRAYERSNLUV, Y'all Are BLESSED 👼👼✝️✝️🙏🙏💝💝
@@tomcat5151 thanks for that information, I didn't even know that.
@@tomcat5151 Exactly!
This little soul chose the perfect mommy and daddy, to bless them with his presence!
My Uncle Kenny had Down Syndrome and was the most loving person I have ever known. He was smiles and kindness all the time and the entire family looked forward to seeing him at family reunions (we are talking a LOT of people and it was just immediate family, LOL!!) I miss him greatly.
Hello 👋
I had a high risk pregnancy with my daughter but, I knew that she was everything I wanted in this world. I prayed for her constantly and I told God that I would love her no matter what complications, syndromes, ect. I have been so grateful for her. She was born a perfect preemie. I wouldn't change her for the world either. Good job mama. You are truly admired.
Micha is beautiful. What his mom said is beyond beautiful. It just shows Micha was born to the right mom. Congratulations!
You can see the dad looking at him with love at 1:04. And she’s right every feeling is valid. Having all those emotions when finding out are okay. You just love your kids no matter what.
He's adorable and will be just fine with awesome parents like them
We are so fortunate as parents of children with down syndrome, they teach us what's important in life. I wouldn't change my daughter for anything. She just turned 20 earlier this month and we're SO proud of her accomplishments.
Being born with a birth defect, has taught me to just find different ways to do things! Keep challenging him and of course, as you do so much, love him. He’s got this!
We can't gloss over the difficulties and stresses of raising a child with a genetic disability
@@fremontpathfinder8463 She wasn't glossing over the difficulties or stress or anything. Why did you single this lady out to say that to her?! Because she was born with a birth defect??
Unbelievable!!
I love how candid she is. It can make any parent feel better knowing they might not be the only one underestimating their child's abilities. ❤
Hello 👋
This little boy has an amazing mother. I truly wish more people felt like this woman. I wish nothing but the very best for this beautiful family.
What a wonderful lucky baby with wonderful parents god bless you all
I worked with special needs kids for years and Down syndrome children were always my favorite! They are so kind and happy! Brightened my day even when I was having a bad one. They are truly so special!
What a lovely boy! The wonderful thing about Downs children is how cheerful and loving they are. I'm so happy you, in particular, were blessed with Micah, so their existence can be improved in society. You go, Girl!
"I wouldn't change you for the world, but for you I will change the world" 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
What a gorgeous little boy, look at his happy smile. God bless your whole family.
Omg! Love the last comment! Micha your so freaking adorable and full of happiness! Have a good life little ones!
I love this. My daughter has Trisomy 13 which is more rare and I totally felt everything you said. Thank you for sharing Micah with us ❤
@ella Great question.
A lovely boy, a lucky boy, to have parents that love him. My only child is autistic, my heart was broken, but he is very high functioning. He helps me a lot. I always treated him like a normal child.
Your doing well ☺️
Bless his heart he's precious as a post partum nurse this melts my heart children are a blessing no matter what the circumstances are he's loved by his parents that's all that matters ❤
You sound like a very nice nurse ❤️
His smile is just so damn precious ❤️
My beautiful one year old niece has Down Syndrome and she is my heart! She's the sweetest baby girl and I love her to the moon & back. She is smart also and has accomplished so much already in her young life. It melts my heart when she has accomplished something and she looks at you for validation and claps! I love that baby girl so much ❤
Micah is just perfect! He has a wonderful journey in front of him, just like anyone else! I wish him and you all the very best!❤️
As a child my aunt used to take care of disabled youth. She would bring us with her to help. I fell in love with the children . They were really sweet. They were loyal and highly intelligent. I figured out early that God doesn't make mistakes. They are nothing short of amazing
You have two beautiful children. Congratulations on your wonderful family.
Those last words she said... heart explosions!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 So Beautiful!!
I love how she validated all their mixed emotions.
What a sweet boy. You have a beautiful family.
Hello 👋
Yes what she said at the end was everything, and she will too! God bless this family!
He is so handsome and cute. Wishing him all the best life .
Micah is extra special and such a precious little boy. Children that have Down Syndrome are capable of so much more than society even knows that they are. Blessings to this beautiful family
He's a beautiful little boy!!! You are very blessed and so is he. A little extra care from you..... and all of us and he's great. All the love he gets, he'll give to others and the circle never ends. Love watching him with his sibling, another beautiful creature. All my love to you and your family.
Just beautiful! You both are very blessed and special people! My nephew has Down syndrome and he is such a blessing to all of us in the family!!
Aww so cute, don't hold him back, let him reach his full potential!!
My mom was a teacher’s associate at a school for significant intellectual disabilities. I visited three times over the course of five years. I absolutely fell in love with every Down syndrome child there. They were so kind, loving, funny and very intuitive. They make the world a better place.
Amazing parenting! What a sweet little boy. People are too quick to judge. They don't realize just how special the person is that they have passed that judgement upon or what they have endured. Please, stop passing judgement of others because 9 times out of 10, you have NO clue to what that person has been through. Peace, love and many blessings to these AWESOME parents! Micha, you are a gift from God and you deserve to be treated as such! Many blessings for a happy, healthy life!
Lovely baby boy born into exactly the right living family what a blessing 🥰
Aww - Micah and his little sister are precious!! Otis the dog is pretty adorable, too! These are some lucky parents. Congratulations on their beautiful family. Just perfect in every way!!
He’s so adorable , and loving how loving he’s with his sister ♥️
He's perfect. They're the ones that show the rest of us what real love is.
This is precious. In a way it was good they were surprised. That way she got to enjoy her pregnancy and not worry about all the things she could have worried about. Beautiful family 🙏
Sooo sweet! The whole msg was beautiful, yet moms words at the very end was priceless! She’s actually keeping her words as we speak/watch this video! Many blessings to this family🙏🏽💜💜

That’s patronising. Not all Downs children/ adults are happy and loving. And believing that they are is perpetuating stereotypes! Being someone with Downs doesn’t make them all the same…just as everyone else isn’t all the same!

I adopted a little girl with Down syndrome. Things can be more challenging and it takes longer for her to learn things but she is the best part of my life. I'm so grateful I was chosen to be her mom 🥰

Hello 👋
Congrats on ur beautiful family. I have a son w downs and he's given me so many wonderful memories. The best thing is that at 23yrs old, he still lets me love on him 😍 a typical 23yr old guy wouldn't want his mom hugging on him constantly, but Scotty loves it as much as I do.
He's an absolute angel. Look at his beautiful smile. You are truly blessed. ❤️
Your family, including your doggy, is just so precious.
"I wouldn't change you for the world. But for you, I will change the world." Beautiful message from mother to son!! !❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love her attitude. Never underestimate down syndrome and always promote their independence. They deserve a normal life like everyone else, and they're probably some of the hardest working, most dedicated on the job, and the absolute nicest people you'll ever meet. I miss working with them.
I'm 3months pregnant right now and if this happened to us I would want to feel just the same 🥰 I will love my child no matter what the surprise will bring ❤️ I really can't wait to meet my little one 😊
