It’s funny how the first set of parents said their daughter uses the word “overwhelming” a lot and then the other twin said “it’s overwhelming” I’m so happy they found each other. 🥺

Because they had already met virtually. This reunion was done with the families in consultation with a twin studies expert. They wanted to bring attention to the very obscure world of adoption agencies who will do things like separate twins without telling the adoptive parents or conceal health issues so as to facilitate adoption.
People need to quit telling others how they should feel. The show paid for them to meet (transportation, bonding activities to experience together, their meals etc)-things that the families would have had to consider doing it by their own means. The girls may or may not have been given a choice but at the end of the day, we don't know and there's no reason to suggest either of those circumstances over the other. So how about focusing on the positives instead of flooding this video with unneeded negativity.
@@ryanp4396 Would you mind if I played devil's advocate here? By your telling people that they need to stop telling people how to feel aren't you doing the same? (I'm asking for a friend).
I lost my twin brother quite early. The feeling of not being compleet is all to familiar. I'm so incredibly grateful these 2 girls can now fill that emptiness with eachother again. No-one else can take the place of a twin and being without them is a feeling I will never be able to explain. This warms my heart. ❤
I get it. My best friend was my twin. We first met when we were 10. We were in the same fourth grade class and I had moved. We were always mistaken for each other, even at her memorial. She was my twin. We were close as sisters.
I get you❤.. I lost my twin as well, I feel like there’s always some sort of a void in me.. I try to fix it by doing my very best in life and try to live for two but it seems to be never enough..
Nah, they decided to meet over there. They can choose not too. Bless them for sharing their moment. It's a happy event for everybody, I can't say for the people who just find faults in everything around them besides their own fault.
@@badassgenevideos they burst into tears, all this emotion from the depths of them came up when they were finally reunited with their twin who they spent 9 months with in the womb. And they only had about 10 seconds to savour and process the moment. It would have been much nicer and more natural for them to have had a real chance to savour and process that moment in privacy. It was probably one of the most important, beautiful and profound moments of their lives, and it was cut short by all the crazy media stuff..
I agree. That moment when the wall between them moved and they started crying, I thought they would embrace and cry for a long time, just savoring the moment being in each other's arms. I mean, look how they just burst into tears; the emotions just welled up! If I were there, I would leave them for a while and respect the significance of that moment instead of leading them suddenly to the couch for an interview.
I don’t get why people think that after 9 months in a womb you would be in any way connected to anyone. It’s chemical not psychological. Get your science straight.
@@louvretreekay12_ yea, there didn't appear to be any connection at all between them when they burst into tears and ran into each others arms. Could you not feel the realness and love within that moment? Of course there is a connection made within the womb!

things like this happened in the US in the 50's and 60's under the guise of the brave new world of psychology we now have laws against this but it's much more difficult to regulate with international adoptions. there are 15 recorded instances of this happening in the US and 3/15 of these individuals committed suicide so i am incredibly worried for these girls mental health in the future this is so traumatic
This shouldn’t have been aired to millions and should have been a private one. However i am in floods of tears as a father of a 3 & 1 year old daughters. 😭 such a beautiful story!
Something about making a nationwide media production out of the traumatic separation and reuniting of adopted twin children doesn’t seem right to me...
This felt like such an intrusion on such a beautiful moment. This did not have to be a TV moment. I’m sad that they had to share this moment with the world, but I’m thrilled they found each other.
Being pessimistic about it is one way to view it. Another way is they've been given the ability to spread awareness about lost siblings especially since the routes they used were discussed on the show. Besides they've been face timing and having regular phone conversations before this.
I disagree. We need more moments like this rather than the terrible, negative, polarizing news they show now. Also they weren’t forced to come on the show and clearly had chatted beforehand. We should be grateful to them for choosing to share it.
To me, what is lacking in recent years for a lot of people around the world is hope. This kind of feel-good story should tell everyone, adults and children, that there is always hope.
True but they sort of clarified that they met on skype and prepared first, This was not super shocker first time hearing eachother and knowing eachother, This was their first IN PERSON meeting, But yeah.. Totally get it.
So agreed. I don't get how nobody else seems to have thought more about that ... They are so much having an emotional and hard moment while everyone else is like "congrats lol". Even the mother on the left doesn't seem to measure the situation at all. When she said to the other twin "can I touch you ?" litteraly *seconds* after they were introduced ... I was like : "she's not an object !" ... jesus ...
The girls and their families had already been face timing over the internet. They just hadn't physically met. Keep in mind, there is a psychologist on set that has NO PROBLEM with them meeting like this. You probably shouldn't either. What you don't understand is that these are tears of JOY for the girls. Tears of joy are friggin fantastic. I'm sure you're not familiar with that emotion and I hope one day you can be. Then you'll understand that ANY time and ANY place is a good place to be reunited with your family. What's more fascinating however is that there is ALWAYS SOMEONE trying to create a problem where there is none. Always some fools looking to follow suit too. Nice try at ruining a beautiful moment a** holes. Now, back to your miserable lives with you!
@@JackalBlack You are a poor soul. One must not be a genius to understand that anything that is emotionally profound is not to be displayed on live TV, in front of an audience and especially if this concerns children. Having that so called psychologist on the set only serves the purpose of this TV channel to have, actually, a backup in case of lawsuit, yeah. There is no school that teaches you that "no child should experience joy in public" (as YOU are trying to say). These are perhaps the rules imposed by your family or tradition? Those are rules for creating prisoners. Life happens in a world of 8 billion people. If you can only handle emotions in a box - then maybe you should go live in one. Maybe you do and that's why your so angry and selfish. Besides, those girls have a lifetime of private memories to create. Why shouldn't they commemorate their first meeting on TV? I would have been glad too and it sure looks like they all were too. Now they can re-live it forever. Quite sneaky of her. But to be able to see two twins who grew up separated have the exact same body mechanics and personality quirks was very fascinating.
That’s funny you say this. I was thinking while I saw them crying, “this feels like I am invading a private moment” they should have met without cameras and a crowd, more so people asking questions when they should be asking questions to each other
Their first meeting shouldn't of been in front of a screaming audience of strangers it really should of happened in a quiet place just the two of them.
@@CHARITYFIPPS No it is not. I would never meet my birth siblings for the first time in front of strangers. That is an experience to have in private for the spectrum of emotions involved.
We chose to adopt from China to avoid any possibility of the birth parents contacting our children. We did not want to have contact with the birthparents, and in an United States adoption that is always a possibility.
HOW DID THEY NOT PICK ON THE FACT THAT THE OTHER TWIN SAID "OVERWHELMING", AFTER THE FIRST GIRL SAID HER FAVOURITE TO DESCRIBE THIS ALL IS OVERWHELMING!?!?!? Twins are fascinating.
Tv is often scripted to create more feels for the watcher but in this case I think its because the guy just said the word a few seconds before she did.
DrJayPlays That came to my mind too...but I think the guy said it first....and the other family were just listening behind that sliding door on the stage...and I thought she just have to say the same word when she was asked bcoz for her it’s just the exact word to describe it.
Notice how the first girl's dad said she likes to describe the experience as overwhelming, then her twin sister comes in and uses the same word without knowing her sister does that too
My heart aches for them not being able to live with or right next to each other. Saying goodbye would be awful, despite all of the joys of meeting. I hope they will keep in touch as they grow up.
Maybe they will be best friends moving forward. My adopted sister became best friends with her biological sister after she turned 18. They eventually bought houses next door to each other lol
@@sweettea1193 yeah but being 10 or whatever age they r it must hurt to live far away from ur only biological family yk, any other sibling doesn't have their own life at 10 lmao
This video demonstrates the love that the adoptive parents have for their children. To see the absolute joy on the faces of Audrey and Gracie was beautiful. God blessed these girls with incredibly loving families, and blessed the families with these awesome girls.
Umm no one has said this but don't you think they'd want to see each other every day now? I think its just a matter of time when one of families moves to the neighborhood of the others.. don't ya'll agree?
I cried right along with them when that door opened! But I cried both happy and sad tears. Happy, joyful, elated that they are together and that both of them have such loving, intelligent parents who want this reunion to be the start of a new life for the girls. But I also cried sad tears that they had been separated between the ages of 1 and 2 and adopted to different families, with neither of those families being told that there was a twin as well. It should NEVER happen that twins, or even non-twin siblings should be split up for adoption. Whatever caused them to end up in foster care as babies is enough of a trauma to go through, but then to be sent to the other side of the world with a new family and grow up STILL not knowing their history, is just so unfair and I don't see how it cannot leave lasting trauma with these children. Just from how their parents talk and how they interact with their child and the other twin, I can't help thinking that one or both of those couples would have been more than happy to take both the girls at adoption time. I know that adoption agencies can't give adoptive parents the names and addresses of the biological parent(s), or ways to contact the bio parents, but in complex cases involving multiple siblings and especially twins, it doesn't seem fair that they keep that information secret. It's almost like the second twin is kept in another room while one is being adopted. Like they are hidden away like a bad secret. It just isn't right that these girls are only finding out after 10 years that they have a twin. And like the psychologist said, the twin bond is so strong, it's very likely these girls felt over the years that "something was missing" from their lives. I hope adoption agencies don't do this any more; I hope they look first for homes where two children would be welcomed.
I agree, but they were adopted from China. China's adoption laws are very different from US. I'm actually surprised that Audrey's mother was able to get background information on the girls being twins, because China doesn't allow background information about where the children come from when adopted.
@Cutie Cat I don't think it's right to separate siblings, but not every couple or parent adopting can take all siblings. Also, I suggest reading more into adopting from China. www.nytimes.com/2007/02/01/opinion/01iht-edrussell.html awaa.org/adopt/adoption-programs/china/requirements
@Monica Bun - Carberry PS (1490) it said they were born in China and China is having Overpopulation issues so they were probably taken away (just a guess)
Monica Bun - Carberry PS (1490) china had a one child policy to curve the overpopulation (it has been changed to a two child policy) and for those 2 children most people there want boys because they are seen as a better support to the family and the wifes family has to pay the grooms family when they get married because the girl is seen as a burden. to avoid poverty most people in china who give birth to girls either kill them or put them up for adoption and try again for a boy. it’s sad but that’s probably why.
Jungkook is my OPPA Unfortunately there is only a small percent of that happening! I’m adopted from China too and I can’t imagine if this would happen to me...but it is illegal to abandon a baby in China and a mother could still be prosecuted for coming forward despite years passing by. It’s nearly impossible for a child to find their birth parents in China (people change and there is a reason people give children up) unless the parents come forward too but with DNA testing there is more hope!
They're worth more when they're sold separately. Adoption is human trafficking and it's people like these couples that create the demand that drives the industry.
Twins are usually placed in another category when it comes to adoption, because most people are only looking to adopt one healthy child. They separate twins to remove them from the category and make it easier for them to be adopted.
While those are nice suggestions, you're hoping child traffickers will act with compassion. People need adoption to be this warm fuzzy thing. If it isn't, we're forced to face the horrific loss of separating mother and child. We don't like to think about that. The adoption Industry could give a rip about what's best for kids. It's all about MONEY!
It's really too bad I hear that a lot of babies who have birth issues are given up to orphanages in China. Much I'm sure has to do with the parents not able to afford to take care of them and the one-child policy which lately has changed.
Yes!!!! We all should be so blessed as American's to have the opportunity to give a child In need a home, family, and all the love we could give! Why these foreign countries split twins and siblings in general is beyond me! I just don't see how as humans, they could ever do that to another!
I’m a twin so this really hit me hard. I immediately started crying when they did. I can’t imagine my life without my twin brother. I’m so happy these girls got to finally meet their other halves.
I think they should have done that privately. Like this was probably a very intimate moment, and they might not able to express their true feeling in front of a crowd. Edit: BTW this is simply my opinion of what would be the BEST action, but I don’t want to discredit the studio or the parents. We all have to make decisions in life and sometimes they are not always the best. That’s just life. But one thing i know is that everyone there cares for these twins and that’s what matters the most. I had to state this because some comments were getting out of hand on both sides.
Agree that the spectacle is distasteful. But hopefully the money earned from doing this will at least go to the children's college funds or put in savings for them.

It's ruff being seperated and being able to just meet him everytime when i'm infront of a mirror is the best feelings you can possibly get in the world
Even if they weren’t twins; there’s the shock of being with a physically related person for the first time in their lives. A blood relative is a really bug deal that most of us take for granted. Sometimes an adopted person doesn’t have a blood relative to share life with until he/she have their own children because they NEVER get to meet. Wishing them all the best!

@@kc4208 Yes, good point. They say this bond between twins is, like, other-worldly. That if split apart, they know on a sub-conscious level that something isn't right.. that something is missing. So if you want the best for the child you promised to look after... My best
@@TeddyBear-ii4yc i honestly believe that is most true with regard to identical twins as opposed to fraternal twins. There is plenty of evidence to make a case that identical twins have a psychic bond ... and this mother may have tapped into it on some level ... giving her the urge to find something that was still missing for her daughter. @@kc4208 The mother prob just wanted the most details she could get about the child knowing that at some point the daughter would raise those questions. But I didn't care for the way the parents allowed their girls to be introduced. P. S. You know there was another set of chinese twins? It was a mass adoption with 10-20 kids. On the hand-over day all the families were in a big room and the foreign parents were finally given their baby. Both mothers had, separately, brought near identical outfits with them so in this room they both changed & dressed their baby and then saw an identical baby in some other mothers arms over the way! Yeah... what are the odds of that? I'd call it a guiding hand! But the parents were a bit antsy then as, once you know the children are twins, you know (deep down) that they should be together, but one family was US the other Norwegian, so one mother would have to give their child up! The girls are Mia & Alexandra. There's films about them. They are women, now. My best.

Tv is often scripted to create more feels from watchers. But i think its because the black dude said the word just a few seconds before so she just copied what he said.
I get what you're saying, they are making a spectacle of it for our entertainment. Another consideration is that trauma is the lack of care and support that we are socialized to step over. We are conditioned to exclude the lack of care and support that causes trauma from our view so that we will not hold traditional patterns of behavior accountable and thereby will not develop a capacity to be the cause of our life and future.
The thing is GMA also helped on uniting them in person so I feel like it was also for a reason even though it should be private at least they had the opportunity.
In other countries a lot of them are not documented properly. The families were not aware about the other sibling obviously. They did a lot of research about Audrey's parents but found the photo. Hosnestly it happens all the time. Adoption information is held tightly, its not regulated properly.
Its China, those girls were lucky be alive and even luckier to get adopted. They were both girls and both sick in a place where they had a one child law. They are swamped with unwanted, dumped and ill kids. Splitting twins up I doubt was even a thought making sure they had a home was probably hard enough.

Yep, sharing this loving and touching moment should be kept behind closed doors. Never should loved ones kiss in public. Never should a baby cry when they are in public. PFFT! We are the human race. Choosing to share the reunion with the world is proof positive that those who have been adopted or are still transitioning through a foster system can meet a loved one. Whether he or she is a sister, mother, brother, aunt, dad etc. they can see this joyous moment and know reunions are just empty dreams. But no. We should keep every reunion private. Because they had already met virtually. This reunion was done with the families in consultation with a twin studies expert. They wanted to bring attention to the very obscure world of adoption agencies who will do things like separate twins without telling the adoptive parents or conceal health issues so as to facilitate adoption.
@chanel kim Have you read the comments?? That's all people are talking about
Gosh guys! They could’ve, they had a choice if they wanted to be on the show!

Having one psychologist on the set doesn't mean at all that this is right. Having that so called psychologist on the set only serves the purpose of this TV channel to have, actually, a backup in case of lawsuit, yeah.
If they were tears of joy, which I hope, then they should have lived those in their intimacy, not forced to look in front of them and follow the TV set's rules.
You are an idiot.
@@vahe1813 Where is that rule: That the emotionally profound should "ne're (never) be aired!" Nowhere. The emotionally profound is what makes TV and movies worth watching. It's what makes life worth living.
Sounds like your making things up as you go. I know you would rather have all children stay in closed cells and communicate in controlled conditions but this isn't North Korea. This is Good Morning AMERICA!
Now again, go back to your miserable life where you can daydream of imposing your foolish will on children everywhere. If someone wants to learn a bit more on what today's medias mean, I suggest you read books such as On Television by Pierre Bourdieu or The Society Of The Spectacle by Guy Debord.
I don't think, to be honest, they experienced only joy. I believe it must have been tainted by sorrow and disarray. And even if not, would you air your wedding on camera or when you give birth ? They are moments that scream for intimacy. Unfortunately you only saw that event with the lens the TV show wanted you to have, which is a pity for you but shows how well they succeeded in their process.

Alizee Defan Definitely, they have this bond and should grow up together.
Alizee Defan yeah !!!
Alizee Defan who doesn't
I agree I think they should be raised together it's sad they we're separated at all
I cried right along with them when that door opened!
Twins should *NEVER* be seperated. This makes me so sad.
I agree, but they were adopted from China. China's adoption laws are very different from US. I'm actually surprised that Audrey's mother was able to get background information on the girls being twins, because China doesn't allow background information about where the children come from when adopted.
Why? I mean shouldn't it be that no siblings should ever be separated? Why especially twins?
@Cutie Cat I don't think it's right to separate siblings, but not every couple or parent adopting can take all siblings. Also, I suggest reading more into adopting from China.

Jungkook is my OPPA unless shes just grave them for adoption on purpose
@Monica Bun - Carberry PS (1490) she may have been an unsuitable mother of 2 kids with heart conditions
Jungkook is my OPPA Unfortunately there is only a small percent of that happening! I’m adopted from China too and I can’t imagine if this would happen to me...but it is illegal to abandon a baby in China and a mother could still be prosecuted for coming forward despite years passing by. How could anyone separate twins. Twins should never ever be separated!!!!
They're worth more when they're sold separately. Adoption is human trafficking and it's people like these couples that create the demand that drives the industry.
A Coll Exactly! At least let the other kid know where the other one is at all times so they can have the option of meeting

I had to state this because some comments were getting out of hand on both sides.
I completely agree.. this is horrible to make such a show from such important intimate moment of the life
Agree that the spectacle is distasteful. But hopefully the money earned from doing this will at least go to the children's college funds or put in savings for them.
Well said
@@kirsten0233 yeah i agree with u. I don’t condemn they presented this, but they should had a private meeting before hand. Seeing ur twin after such a long time, but doing it in front of national television seems little distasteful to me.

Tias Dwi Kurnia Yes they cried the same. I thought that was interesting too. They made me cry. So touching!
Tias Dwi Kurnia ....I noticed the same thing immediately...the way their little lips looked when they cried...I thought this was a very touching, heartwarming story. The girls had already been communicating, even face timing...so with everyone's blessing, even from the psychologist, everyone needs to be happy for these 2 little precious girls, who obviously have so much in common. Loved the story! As a mother, it was the little things, like the facial expressions, etc, that was so touching to me.

@@TeddyBear-ii4yc true .... i doubt it is even common that parents adopting babies across sea do deep dives on their personal history. I love that this mom did and did not withhold the knowledge of her sister from her. To me, that speaks volumes about her dedication to not only the physical wellbeing of her daughter, but her mental wellbeing as well.

Yes, good point.
I imagine it why they had such an emotional reaction to one another despite being so young ... and now, this is making me want to ask the one girl's mother if she was following a nagging feeling when she set off to know more about her daughter. There is plenty of evidence to make a case that identical twins have a psychic bond ... and this mother may have tapped into it on some level ... giving her the urge to find something that was still missing for her daughter.
Eeeee .... i find this fascinating. If it wouldn't seem creepy, i would find the mother and ask. But it would, so i wont. Lol
@@kc4208
The mother prob just wanted the most details she could get about the child knowing that at some point the daughter would raise those questions.

This feels like a moment we shouldn't be watching and that shouldn't be on national tv
Exactly. How traumatizing for these children.
People forget mental health when they are chasing down a story 😞
Yeah, if they wanted to put them on tv they should have at least let them actually meet in private.
How dare they split identical twins. How dare anyone do that.
Emdontplayguitar well, adopting is a hard thing and sometimes people can’t adopt 2 kids so they can only pick one, but I agree on you
In other countries a lot of them are not documented properly. The families were not aware about the other sibling obviously. They did a lot of research about Audrey's parents but found the photo. Hosnestly it happens all the time. Adoption information is held tightly, its not regulated properly.
Iiiikkkkkrrrrr
Its China, those girls were lucky be alive and even luckier to get adopted. They were both girls and both sick in a place where they had a one child law. They are swamped with unwanted, dumped and ill kids. Splitting twins up I doubt was even a thought making sure they had a home was probably hard enough.
Heart surgeries are expensive & exhausting, but this shows the awesome value of human struggle; they have over come so much. They are beautiful, peaceful young people and deserve all the best in life and it looks like these four parents and siblings have done a wonderful job and are a wonderful part of our community. 🙋🇨🇦💞

actually.. I just find this disturbing.. and I'm not sure who I am most upset with.. I mean goodness, these are little girls... you have to protect them somehow..
Sara English they weren't forced. also, they have face-timed and talked to each other before, so it wasn't like this was the first time they had ever seen the other. They were obviously very happy and didn't seem damaged to me.

How is this disturbing? This is such a happy moment... it's not like they're televising these girls going through something heartbreaking.
Sara, everything you said, I agree with.
Trust me, those who have been through the system and finally do meet a loved one it a moment that you want to climb on top of a mountain and scream I found my ___________!!!!! Will the kids then tweet, instaslam, facebook and call all their friends to let them know this? Of course they will.
protect them? Really? This is child abuse?
Just remember this the next time you see the explosions in Syria or all the other bad news the midea latches on to. I say good job to GMA for sharing this moment. To the parents it is their choice to allow everyone to see their children unite. We ARE a community.
The fact the this disturbs you disturbs me but also lets me know another side to this story. Thank you so much for showing a dissenting view. Without a dialogue we can't grow.
Why?? You don't ever SEPERATE twins. They have the closest bond ever. You see how they just instantly cried?? And now it just sucks because they both have two seperate pairs of parents and obviously they're gonna want to be together.
***** whats wrong? i wasnt claiming anything. I just said since they found out about each other theyre gonna wanna be together because of how connected they are. Theyre gonna miss each other since they are gonna go back home, they live far away from each other.
It's how adoption works. At least they were both adopted into loving families.
Gabriela Guzman t
+Gabriela Guzman most likely they were separated because they i the have heart problems. To have two children with that condition can be expensive and overwhelming. It's not right but it's Is difficult to find a family who is willing to adopt one child with such a life threatening condition
