How to use 被？Passive sentence 被字句的用法

今天我们来学习汉语中一个非常基本的句式，被字句。
主语+被+（宾语）+动词+其它
S. + 被+（O.）+V.+ Other
这里的主语是动作的受事者， the subject is the receiver of the action
介词“被”的后面引出动作的实施者， “被” is put before the performer of the action.
这里的宾语可以省略，最后的其它就是指怎么样了。

This was a very thought-provoking lesson on the passive voice.
Very often, I think that 被 indicates that the outcome is undesirable.
For example: 他的饮料被弟弟喝了 "His drink was drunk by his brother".
If we want to say "His drink was prepared by his brother" can we say:
他的饮料被弟弟准备了 (I think this implies there is something wrong with the drink.)
I think the proper way to say it is: 他的饮料是弟弟准备的。
We are taught that the 是…的 construction is used to describe the manner in which something was done (e.g. 他是坐飞机来的 = "He came by plane").
But if the item after 是 is a person, then this person is the doer of the action,
in which case the 是…的 construction works as the passive voice.

The bei4（被） structure in Chinese fairly closely parallels English "by" and German "bei"; note that the pinyin sounds like "bay" as in harbor, not like bye or bee. Example: 课程被教师好做了 the lecture was done well by the teacher
