Shawn you are the best! All the time you have spent trying to find the right wet tissue style and then sharing them with us is amazing! Thank you so much. Such fun things ahead for all of us.
I think that Deluxe Eze Tissue used for making model aircraft could be ok. It is made in the UK and is described as very thin wet strength tissue. Too expensive for me here in Aotearoa but might be worth trying. I too did lots of searching and think that modelling supply shops are possibly the only ones that have wet strength tissue right now. Good Luck!
This is fascinating, Miss Shawn. Thank you SO MUCH for doing this research and sharing it! Is there Acid Free information available for the papers that passed muster for you? ❤ deb
I love all your hard work and your explanation!! Can't want to see part 2 of this experiment, cause i already have the theabag paper and would like to play with it. Thanks❤
Hello Shawn. New subscriber here in France. Our baking parchment paper is greaseproof. Would that work? Also through searching wet strength I came across waterproof florists paper. Maybe that's an option. In any case thank you for the time and information. Off to watch part two now 🤩
Oops I didn't go far enough You did try the deli paper in a transparent test and I see how that would not work so well lol. I just had to wait a few minutes . That's me though I get a little hasty my fault one of my faults lol so anywho got you now I love this video it's fantastic thank you so much for sharing all this information.
Thank you for all the great information in this video. I haven’t tried wet strength paper, but have seen lots of artists on UTube using it. I have used a very strong paper in pressed flower art, called Unryu paper. It’s from Japan, but there are some US distributors, I think. Some have lots of fibers in it (kind of like mulberry paper), and others are more smooth. I wonder if this might be an alternative, too. I’ve used it to create atmospheric effects and to create the illusion of distance. Just FYI.
Hi, I have worked with Carnival paper in my mixed media and find it great. I also use a paper from Japan that is even better called Mitsumata Tissue Light HM - HW it can be bought in Canada at the Japanese Paper store in Toronto. This is a wholesaler I use to order from when I had a shop. I am sure you can find resellers in the USA also. Hope this helped.
I've been after the Carnival wet strength tissue for weeks, and today I found it on Amazon UK. However it's twice the price. Literally. And only 60 sheets at a time. That could change, I guess, once people start to show interest/buy it But, to me, it looks like they're cashing in!
Hi Shawn, I've been watching your tutorials lately. And this one I had a question what about deli paper? If it's used for gel plate painting with bears and stencils and stamping and putting in scratches and all why not use that paper? I don't understand what the accomplishment is on trying to get the closest to wet strength tissue paper. Not that I've ever used it but was just wondering about the deli paper. I didn't hear you mention that in part 1.. inquiring minds lol..
Has anyone ever tried the archival tissue that is used to protect photo's and artwork. I was always wondering what that one is like also. The tea bag paper was something I had wondered about....thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Wet strength tissue is having a moment. Several YT artists and workshops recently introduced this material.
Unfortunately cannot be found anywhere!!! I’ve given up trying. Move on!!!

I think the tissue paper is the most transparent.
Has anyone ever tried the archival tissue that is used to protect photo's and artwork. I was always wondering what that one is like also. The tea bag paper was something I had wondered about....thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
I have tried the archival tissue, and It doesn't have the strength like wet strength.
Thank you for making that huge mess for us!!
What paper weight do you use?
Just curious, have you tried Artist tissue paper? Acid and lignon free.
Hi Sally, I have tried artist tissue paper, and it just doesn't hold up like the wet strength.
I bought Blick “Artist” tissue. It disappears into background well but it is no stronger than decent tissue that you can find anywhere.
