Such a honor to collab with you. Love these furniture pieces. Great finds and amazing makeovers. Love the colors. I never have any luck with that gel stain. Thank you again 🖤🤍
Thank you so much Yvonne 🤗 I'm really happy we could collab! I love your projects! You always amaze me with how you guys can completely transform pieces💗
Everything is beautiful...I just watched your corner hutch one....I just basically got one that almost looks the same as yours, mine has the 2 doors on top and 2 doors on bottom but everything is exactly the same as yours, but it's a darker color.... after watching that video I wanna do what you did I just love how it came out it's beautiful
Beautiful work! The china cabinet is just stunning! The colors look great together! The table and chairs turned out beautiful also! I’m not a huge fan of green(s) but that is the “hot” color this year and I’ve always been off! Lol! But seriously great job!
Hi Casey these projects turned out amazing and very very pretty ! You did a amazing job on both of them ! 👍👍 TFS have a wonderful weekend stay safe and well Blessings ! Hugs !
The hutch is absolutely gorgeous i love it. The table and chairs look really good to, I didn't how those colors would go together but they really do. I'm already a subscriber of Yvonne so I have already watched hers. So I watch both of you already. God bless 🙏
Most of our furniture is darker wood but we still have our original (& expensive) dining room table and China cabinet. I have been wanting to do something with it to make it blend in better. Thanks for a fabulous idea! Although I do like that celery green, our inside wall color is a grey-blue. I think I might use mineral. Maybe add a little green.
Waverly Celery is one of my favorite colors. I would have distressed and then white waxed the green for a more farmhouse look. But yours is beautiful also. Thanks
I hate the orangey wood. My mom has some of the most beautiful antiques, and most of them have that orangey look to them. She loved orange, that was her favorite color, so I think that is partly why everything she had was orange. I am going to start working on them, this year, and I want to paint them, or, at least, some of the pieces, I would like to paint, rather than stain. I love the table and chairs, it is beautiful.
I know crafters always ask us to say what we think, so here goes. I just don't care for the flat paint with the wood. You did a great job, I would prefer a semi gloss paint. Something that matched the shine of the wood. Only my opinion. Hope that was ok
Hi Vicki🤗 yes of course that's ok. I really appreciate honest opinions 💗 It helps me to see things differently that maybe I didn't think of and to try new ideas and ways of doing things😍. Thank you so much!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend💕
The table and chairs turned out amazing! You have inspired me to refinish my huge oak table with 4 chairs and a bench that has turned quite orange over time. Can you please tell us what product you used to seal the paint and stain? I don't believe we saw that process, thank you so much!
Hi💕 Thank you so much! The seal for the stain depends on the brand of stain you use. It should say on the back of the container what they recommend. I like Polycrylic to seal in the chalk paint or you could use a wax made for sealing chalk paint.
Hi Jade! Thanks for stopping by! I understand that 🤗. It was a subtle change. When I used the black gel stain on my hutch it was a more drastic change for sure. I'm kind of thinking I might do another coat just to see 🤩. Have a great weekend!
*Hi Casey❣ How is Bella doing, anyway? I haven't thought to ask about her since her surgery last summer, sorry.😔 She is such a sweet, sweet girl.* *I like wood and seeing the wood grain, so I was very happy to see that you didn't paint the entire pieces of furniture.😊 It made me so happy❣😁 The gel stain made the wood on your table and chairs look richer. I have never tried gel stain; you have encouraged me to give it a try the next time I tackle redoing or enhancing a wood finish. The celery paint color is lovely...green - in a great variety of shades - is my 2nd favorite color. 😉 For my personal decor, I would use a slightly darker shade of green; more like the color of green olives in a jar. I would finish the wood and the paint with a several coats of semi-gloss polycrylic, because my personal preference is a bit of a shine...plus, it makes paint more stain-resistant and easier to wipe down than a flat or matte finish, in my experience. Casey, thank you for your inspiration❣😉🙏 I have a couple of those 2-toned chairs from the 1980's with the golden oak seats and the backs and legs in white that I wasn't sure how I wanted to update them. Now I know what to do! I will darken up the stain of the wooden seats and paint the spindle backs and legs a nice, pale, semi-gloss olive green. They are just used as extra seating when entertaining, but so handy to have on hand. They tuck into the corners of bedrooms and the dining room and family room when not in use for entertaining. I will have to wait until it's warm enough to work on them outside, though, because I have a sweet little parrot. Her little lungs 🫁 are too sensitive to fumes and chemicals...I don't even have or burn candles in my home because the fragrances could hurt her little lungs, and because the particulates from the smoke/flames could also cause her harm. What we do for the L💚VE🍃🌿 of our pets, huh, Casey⁉️🙄💚💕* *Your hutch turned ot fabulous❣ I like it better than your old hutch, too.💞🤎🖤 It's amazing how beautifully the switch plates turned out - you have a talented husband who was able to sandblast them and make them a PERFECT MATCH with the new knobs you bought at Hobby Lobby‼️😊 At first, I didn't think I was going to like the new hardware, because I loved the hardware and pulls the hutch originally came with. Now, I love the hardware❣ The only thing I would change is have it gold, not silver, but that's just what I like. 😁😊🙄 GREAT COLLABORATION, Casey‼️ I subscribe to both you and to Yvonne's channel, so it was so FUN to see you two do this collab together‼️😊 ❤*
Just started watching your channel first time today. Iiii love it!! It's beautiful! I'm going through life and now on my own after 38 plus years of marriage. I'm getting inspirations when I shop and know what to look for at the thrift store. Thank you Peace Love and Harmony.
Yvonne sent me Yvonne sent me over, love what you did with table and chairs. Years ago I bought a Amish table and chairs that was painted the same way. Love them. the leaf pushes down into the table to hide and make table smaller. I love the colors you chose for the china cabinet. Great work.

Smart move to sand lightly and use gel stain. My husband has stripped that kind of maple furniture, it is a brute to refinish!

The gel stain didnt change it enough for my tastes but as long as you like it right? I don't care for the orange color at all.

Ijust think you ruined that beautiful piece by painting it..Loved iin its original color.
