Those Convoy L8 stock batteries (26800 that comes with the flashlight when you buy it) were taken from electric car battery packs. There are thousands of brand new electric cars sitting in lots across China abandoned (several UA-cam videos discussing this phenomena are available). Since the batteries are a fire risk, they're removed from the cars and resold in bulk to businesses that utilize them (ebikes, flashlights, laptops, power banks, etc).
Abandoned electric cars? Interesting. I'll search on YT. I thought it was odd they had bits of metal spot welded to the ends, like they came from a module.

Have you heard of the 49650 cell?
The QB is rated at 20A draw (3C). The 30A rating (5C) is pulse rating (technically 34A), not continuous.
I didn't know that, thanks for sharing. Doubt this light is drawing at 30A, currently don't have a way to test it.
Discharge test… that’s how to test capacity.. and I’d be interested to see how much it holds lol
I have an xtar VC8 that measures capacity but I can't fit in that 26800 lol.
@@DarrenYeoYT you could use cables or tape wore to it.. I’m assuming that would work fine lol
It would be nice to have a runtime test between these two cells.
For turbo? I need to buy a proper multimeter with clamp first. The one I have now will probably blow up.
hello my friend, is there a place where i can buy this battery? i couldn't find it on aliexpres
Hi, I got mine from VIPRBattery in Australia. But you can google and see if other places will ship to you.
@@DarrenYeoYT thanks dear
I know two places: Kaidomain (China) and Sportlampa (Hungary). The price is about 15 EUR.
