i don't think anybody cares if they appoint an independent investigator. The only reason they probably shouldn't is because the FBI has been investigating the entire Russia thing for months, and it would be unnecessary to start over. Comey is not the one actually doing the investigations. If fact, who ever replaces him will be under such a microscope that there's negative 50 percent chance that anything sketchy would happen. Not to mention there's 3 other investigations going on by other groups. Should we really be using more resources to investigate something that has shown no real evidence in over 8 months of investigations? Seems really dumb.
