Props to you, The 240 Rescue. Very well done video. I am now a subscriber. Your videography is clear and steady, or your actions are easy to observe and to learn from. Your clear and concise descriptions of what you are doing is helpful, and more than uncommon on UA-cam videos. I like how prepared you are, in your understanding of the process i.e. on the steps necessary in logical order, and your use of effective tools, and also your well-made jig of wood pieces to support the tank on its way down from the car. It always helps to be told the sizes of the bolt heads and nuts to be removed, also special caution on the vulnerable points that might be damaged without extra care.
Nice! I just replaced the tank/in tank fuel pump after finding that my 1980 245 had a leaking tank. I was amazed how easy the whole thing was, the most annoying part was messing with the fuel filler neck but still not bad.
The tank on my 92 with 38K miles looked like the Grand Canyon inside! I opted for a replacement that is still OK today 6 years later. I coated the new tank with spray -on undercoating before installing it along with all new OEM sender and pump. I didn't remove the filler neck, just disconnected it from the tank. Putting it back together under the car however was a nightmare. We love our Volvos!
It’s a personal preference really, I’m grateful replacement tanks are still available but a while back they had seam sealing issues and also the swirl pot was more shallow than the stock tank, if I didn’t have access to a cleanable stock tank, I would be willing to take my chances with aftermarket
@@240rescue thanks for the reply. Took a 7 hour trip on full and at 2 hours left I filled the tank up to 58 $ .. and noticed gas pouring from the tank .. and I assure you my in-tank fuel pump is and hoses and seals lock ring is perfect so its been a evaporative fuel leak for a long time ,,.. will have to go with a aftermarket tank.
You at an excellent teacher. Good job, Daddy!!!
Thank youb
Great videos, just picked up a 77 that hasn’t been started in 22 years, been watching your vids. Appreciate you sharing!
Sound like my kind of project
We got the engine started, vacuum leaks being sorted out, fuel injectors. Clutch wont engage. Pulling the trans today
Make sure the clutch disk is facing through correct way and centered
Also that the fork has enough leverage and the cable isn’t stretched
@ thank you we will!

helped me get my tank out on the street in a pinch, thanks!
Glad it could help!
