Agreed, I feel like something was lost in the studio recording. There's something about the rawness of it here.
I'd agree if we could add Josh on a cajon making amazing faces. But on the album when he says "pay no attention toooooo this iron, this iron fist" is way more satisfying to hear :p

This performance is great indeed..but the brooklyn sstb concert version is more powerful, imo. Claudio's outro vocals is magical.

I may be crazy... but I feel it is one of Coheed's best songs... I say this after hearing it literally three times.
One of my favorite live coheed moments is when they played this song acoustic during the second stage turbine neverender tour. And Pearl of the Stars.

I'll never forget when they came to the Filmore. It was my first concert let alone my first concert with my absolute favorite band. When this song played my buddy and I cried so hard we didn't expect it, it was absolutely beautiful. I miss those simple times, faded in the warm winds of the past

Found this back in 2014 while writing an essay in business school. I was in the heart of Melbourne, Victoria in a damn near abandoned computer lab. I distinctly remember the smell of the room and just thoroughly enjoying this session.
It's awesome reflecting on this. Business school sucked, but what a journey it's been.

I love them both for different reasons. I think this is beautiful, but ultimately, the one on the album fits within the context of the rest of the songs better

I bought the album from Best Buy and it came with three bonus songs, in which song 10 being the Iron Fist acoustic. Can't stop listening to it! :]
I love what they did with the studio version.
So very different to what I expected, and very Coheed.
Anyone who prefers this version will be happy to know that with the Deluxe version there's 'Iron Fist: Acoustic Stripped Demo' which you could put in the studio version's place on the album.
Gosh, this reminds me so much of stuff from SSTB, in all the right ways. Hope this makes it on to The Afterman. Coheed songs have such a magical way of being relate-able even though they're talking about robots, distant planets, evil armies, and genetically altered super-humans. Love it.

holy shit the acoustic version is amazing Claudio delivers.... one of my faves on Descension. what a great double album story these guys have made. guys sit back you are witnessing one of the most progressive bands in a long time. Coheed never fails. its all about chasing new sounds and ideas but having the spirit of the band. so far they have not let me down. coheed4life.
