Yeah, I get why they stuck to a heavy banger for the main release, but this version lets the melody really come through... and it has such a MOOD. Claudio singing on the acoustic tracks always sounds so crisp and haunting and it gives me a lot of good feelings.
Funny thing is there is definitely parallels with Amory Wars and Dark Tower series. Reenforced in my head with Gunslingers and Gravemakers. With the Grammy interview this was posted in, the story very may well be going in that direction.
Part of me wonders if they are saving acoustic for their last album. Just a softer ending to their epic. Not saying the album wouldn’t be epic, but just a different sound.
I’m 18 and I grew up listening to my stepdads CD that had Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV Vol. 1 on it, and I love these guys so much. His voice is timeless and the evolution of their music is amazing. Can’t wait to see them in concert one of these days❤️
There is no band I would see over Coheed and Cambria live. These guys are Artists. Plain and simple. The devotion to their medium is inspiring. Saw you guys in Indy for the 5th time and I can’t wait for the 6th!
I've been a fan since I was little since my dad listened to them all the time, but seeing them live is a whole other plane of existence. The concert I went to of theirs was my brother's first ever concert ever, and the moment they played his favorite song his face lit up. All of the people closest to me are obsessed and it makes sense because they're such a great band.
Most rock vocalists blow out their voice by the time they hit 30 and never recover, at best scrape together some pale semblance of what they had in their 20s and then slowly decline. And then there's Claudio sitting here at 43, sounding the best he's sounded in his whole career. Dude pulled his shit together during the afterman era and has just kept improving year after year since. Crazy.
Yeah, I remember back in Good Apollo days, it was always a gamble seeing them live & as soon as Afterman dropped, it was like he woke up one day & decided to STOP fucking around & get SERIOUS.
To be fair, your singing voice needs ridiculous care. I'm not a trained singer or vocalist (I just like to sing sometimes), but I did pit orchestra duties for a while, and the actors basically only drank tea or water, had a list of foods they avoided during tech and show weeks, talked half with hand signs or sign language, and did detailed vocal warm ups. No one in the cast or crew smoked anything except the stage manager, who always smoked a good way away from everyone and only before or after rehearsal. After the first show I was a part of I adopted the extreme tea habit. Did wonders for my voice.
@@neekMarieM14 What you're saying is 100% true. Also, young voices like to use volume to make up for a lack of diaphragmatic support. For that reason, voices get tired much quicker. Then, you can overcompensate when you begin to employ diaphragmatic support. This can be seen in Claudio's singing leading up to and during YOTBR. In that album, he had a lot of power but he used a lower range because he was building his supported voice. And there was a hint that he could've been also suffering from acid reflux during that time. Some people can actually trigger a reflux response by squeezing their abs/diaphragm too hard. Not saying that's why but a possibility.
Coheed has been my favorite band since i was 12, I'm so happy for all of their success, can't wait for the cruise! -Edited becauseI i spelt "been" wrong somehow-
It's really cool to hear that you are a fan of Coheed, good taste in music! I watch your videos from time to time so it was pretty nice suprise to see you here. - I love the narrations you do by the way, they're great at making a spooky vibe
The fact that they sound this good with an acoustic set is pretty insane. Imagine this with full guitar/distortion. Madness. Def one of the most underrated/talented bands in the last 30 years. Even some of my favorite artists don't sound this good this deep into their career. Claudio's voice is so damn good.
I completely agree. I’ve listened to this song literally I think 100 times the last two days since I heard the acoustic version. It’s quickly become one of my favorite songs of all time
I have to confess, I held your guitar at the Mcity (secret) spot at the storage spot. Best fuckin day for me. I took extra care to keep it perfect and not disrespect your guitar man. Gosh man, what an amazing day. I also jammed there in the room while drinking with a few buds. You’re my favorite band man. Take care.
Amazing backing vocals from Zach and Travis, Josh is always grooving something wicked with that cajon, and Claudio once again absolutely kills it! Such a groovy tune, made even better in acoustic form! Well done to the fellas, the best band of all time! ONE AMONG THE FENCE!
Well, that was pretty incredible. 16 year old me couldn't have guessed, as she listened to SSTB in year 12, that I'd be 34 working from home with a kid still having my mind blown by Co&Ca...what a treat.
In my most difficult times in my life and everything was going bad I listen to Coheed and Cambria and somehow even though I don't understand some of those lyrics, but inspired me to be so amazing gift and get it energy from God

The way that Claudia Sanchez was able to provide a different perspective of the song through toning down his voice more elegantly makes me believe that this song should have been acoustic from a start
I got into Coheed around 2004, right after IKSSE:3 dropped. I instantly loved them, and I clearly remember all the people that made fun of him for the style and tone of his voice. I always thought he's a brilliantly unique vocalist, but he's become, today, clearly one of the greatest rock vocalists there ever was. Go play this for a vocal coach and ask their opinion. I guarantee they're gonna be like "um, WOW!" The tone of his matured voice is absolutely BONKERS.
I’ll still never forget seeing them while crowd surfing in a warped tour crowd just being passed around by what seems like a ocean of fans all enjoying the amazing music that is Coheed and Cambria. Still one of my fondest memories of my teenage years❤️
I reliably have a more emotional connection to any and every acoustic version of Coheed's songs. For instance, before NWFT came out, there was a leak of Mother Superior recorded in concert that was an acoustic rendition, and it's by far still my favorite version. I love all of their studio releases, but the acoustic stuff hits me in a way that's as hard to describe as it is nostalgic and relatable, more pressing and important. Here's to another twenty years, guys.
@@benjaminvillarreal1499 Yes, of course. I was so tuned in to leaks and releases back when IKS and GAI/II were coming out that I caught, I think, literally everything. I would give just about anything for a full album of acoustic versions. No one does acoustical the way Coheed does 💙
I agree!
Most albums have acoustic demos you can find
Kerang in London put an album out of all acoustic
God yes
RIGHT?
Josh ONCE AGAIN being the best thing in a Coheed video.

Please Coheed realease an acoustic album of every song ever

This 😍
Definitely
Josh’s facial expressions need it’s own documentary of awesomeness!
The dude gets so much out of life just feeling the groove and it makes me wish I could feel that good about anything.
I want a side by side of Josh and Zach's faces. Every time they cut from Josh rocking out to Zach staring off into space I lose it.
He should do a song with that bass player from HAIM
‘I’m just sat here you know, playing legs’
This is the superior version, in my most humblest of opinion.

Such an incredibly tight acoustic version of this. Vocals were spot on and just top notch. Amazing fellas.
