idk why, but I like the design of the 2009 version a lot more than the one from Beyond. The shorter nacelle pylons and just being a lot closer to the saucer section looks a lot better to me. The 2009 version just looks a lot more sleek and streamlined imo.
I definitely prefer the 2009 Enterprise vs the Beyond Enterprise. I still think that the Beyond Enterprise was designed for one purpose....To be easily destroyed.
i'm the opposite, 2009 was trash and I liked the Beyond version.

I actually REALLY like the Kelvin Timeline Fed ships. Spent best part of 6m getting a Kelvin Connie without paying cash on STO haha. I just thought the reboots made Trek even cooler - bright colours, shiny lights everywhere and I prefered how the phasers worked, particularly the point defense ones on Kelvin.
I prefer the Beyond Enterprise. I agree...Beyond was the best out of the 3. It reminded me of the original series story feel. I read someplace, that the nacelles and the overall ship profile was thinner do to the pounding it took from the Vengeance. Thinner profile, less to shoot at. 😄
Great review personally I prefer the first Kelvin enterprise the two from beyond are just so out of proportion and just too extreme.
Great book with model ,but I have been a enterprise starship fan since the 70s but I just can’t like these Kelvin time line enterprises great review
Prefer the refit though appreciate the first model. would ADORE the A whether it is the Hargreaves concept or the film version.
i really don't like those tiny nacelles. Thing is, I thought the 2009's were too big too. IDK i just don't think they hit the balance with this one.
To me, smaller can be stronger. 2009 looked silly to me.
Really wanna get this, but with the incorrect phaser banks, I don’t know. Eaglemoss really needs to work on their quality control, bc that’s just ridiculous, considering the photos LITERALLY show the 6 phaser banks

Alternate universe Star Trek ships have a stretched look to them. The Kelvin universe ones.

I noticed a mistake on this model. Look at the ships phasers on the model, then look at the ship on the front of the book and in Star Trek Beyond you will notice the model is missing half of it's phasers.
Ikr! They added the stripes on the top of the saucer but were too lazy to actually make it screen accurate.
The impulse deck is huge on this ship. Shame it wasn't more of a feature with some plastic. It really shines in the movie and stands out. On a side note, if you are going to destroy a hero ship in a movie it should probably be doing something utterly heroic. Also conveniently ignoring abilities for the sake of plot.....oh my. She deserved a better fate. It was a better movie than the second one for me.
It reminded me (though the reasons for it here are pure story, not 'want to get a new model') of the end of the Enterprise-D - utterly stupid way to beat her, sad fate for a ship that has been a companion for years (though that part doesn't quite apply here, as it's a renewed version of a ship we only got to know two movies before!)
Honestly the starship would have been great if they didn’t make the neck thinner and made the nacelles larger.
Also if the nacelles were the right color.
Nah larger naecells will just make the ship loose its sleekness

I definitely prefer the original ST09 design over this one. If the nacelles were more far apart on the Beyond version, it probably would look better.
The neck looks a bit weird for the ships design. The best version would probably be the 2009 design with the Beyond nacelles
For the Enterprise A, I just wanted to see it fitted with the squared nacelles from the Vengeance

I love your videos, this is another great review, but MAN I hate the Kelvin Enterprises. The proportions are just all... weird. It doesn't look good from any angle. This comparison really highlights how much they botched it up - the 2009 version was far from perfect but the Beyond version really looks hideous (great movie though). Discovery has done a much better job of giving us an updated Enterprise (though I have issues with that version too). I know they can't use the original for legal reasons but honestly the Probert version is the only good one after the Jefferies original, which will always be the one 'real' 1701 for me.
Gotta be honest with you all, I miss the Star Trek 11-12 Kelvin Timeline USS Enterprise/constitution Class..
The 2009 one is the better looking one for me. The Beyond version looks weirdly stretched with that thinner neck and those pylons. I don't like the huge gap between saucer and nacelles, they should have been placed more forward. The 09 looked like a properly designed ship, while the Beyond was just a modification to suit the story without paying enough attention to aesthetics. But that's just my opinion of course.

I check on the number of phasers on the saucer section. In the film there are five on both top and bottom and on this model there are only three on both top and bottom.
Great review, I feel like I"m the only person who didn't enjoy Beyond as much...I really liked it, but the wasted potential of Idris Elba still bothers me. it just felt like such a weak villain. But I'll say this.... the 1701 looked the best here. I like how sleek it does look, but a big problem with JJ is that everything is just too big. In all his movies, (star wras included) his solution to making something menacing is just to make it over the top big.. And lol, this could just be me...but does any one else feel really pained watching the Enterprise being slowly ripped apart in Beyond? I mean ...it's like watching a loved one, slowly be killed in such a brutal way, it's almsot hard to watch!
I felt that way when the ship was being slowly ripped apart.

In the Kelvin universe, starships are disposable . Just use it and throw it away. In our universe, you are court martialed for losing your ship.
I agree Beyond was t he best movie of the three. Although I didn't quite like the changes to the Enterprise for this movie... I mean I understand why but still ugly. I thought they made the neck way too thin I mean waaaay to thin.
I've got a 3D printed model of the Beyond Enterprise-A and it's sweet. I'm surprised Eaglemoss doesn't have a model of it lined up yet...or they do and just haven't made an announcement yet.
Edit: They just more or less used the saucer from the 2009 / STID version. The Beyond has six phaser emitters on the top and bottom of the saucer.
I would choose both

It’s a shame about the ‘1’ on the shuttle bay. I notice how they’ve only got 3 instead of 6 phaser banks on the saucer top. :(

I prefer the 2016 refit for beyond because it has more detail than the previous 2009 model. I also like the lower profile of the 2016 refit, i don’t like the refit because it wasn’t as epic as the non refit to destroy,

I prefer beyond,advanced weaponry together with better warp core and its better than the 2009 version but the only thing is the cell is small and is easily to get cut off
Not going to lie. I don’t like either Enterprise (A included). But I loved the Kelvin, the Vengeance, and the Frank Lin.
I wish Star Trek online wuld give a option to redeem a eaglemos ship and have it sent to your house and if you lose it your problem you'll have to rebuy but back to it if you own These ships on Star trek online have them sent to your house or job what ever that's what they should do
I feel the Beyond version lacks presence, which the 09 version definitely had.
The saucer always comes bent, not aligned which I find frustrating from this model.
hmmm the only thing that this 09 enterprise model has which reminds me of a fan made connie model are those blue buzzards which reminds me of the USS Constar from a fan film those being the blue Buzzard collectors.

But I still do love the model aside from the the saucer issues.
There where so many FAN made versions. And they went with a design that looks like a 5 year old drew.

It's a "Learn to like it" Design Though it Really was a "Not so Great Design" as it was REKT in the Movie :\

I like the 2009 Enterprise fine, but the Beyond and the A are pretty bad. Great video tho.

The model was not right back and front. I had to rebuild it and repaint it. 😒
I like the Beyond Enterprise because of the swept-back nacelles and the larger impulse engines. Makes her a more elegant and sexier silhouette in my opinion :) One thing I didn't like about this Eaglemoss model is that they didn't get the number of phaser banks right! should be six sets on top and six sets underneath the saucer! ><
I agree that there should have been more of a direct merge between the 2009 and Beyond enterprise, perhaps to make the Enterprise-A. Am NOT a fan of the Hargreaves Enterprise-A shape... his Yorktown and Franklin are sheer beauts, but the Ent-A redesign is an ugly duck, I'm saddened to say.. was the only low point of Beyond for me. They destroyed the Church Enterprise at it's best and redesigned it into something backwards...

When I first saw the JJprise back in 09, I was like wtf??? It took me awhile to warm up to it so I like it quite a bit actually, but yeah... the funhouse mirror analogy is freekin priceless! 🤣
@@dougsandison3217 The JJ Enterprise has a couple of good angles. The problem is the original and the refit looked good from every angle.
also Eagle moss made this model wrong, there should be six phaser turrets top and bottom.
The Kelvin Enterprises never looked quite right to me.
The Beyond version really fixes the design, I love it.
I'm just disappointed that the model doesn't have the right number of weapons.

ST Beyond has a terrible design. Discovery's NCC-1701 is the great redesign.
I can't really decide which is uglier. I think the reboot films' version of the A is the absolute ugliest ship to bear the name Enterprise, though, followed by the other two here. And after that, maybe the F.
I actually like the reboot films, for the most part. Just not the ship designs.
They finally made it look good in Beyond and trashed it.
Also, Beyond was the only good one of the three films.
I almost walked out of the theater when, in the first act of the movie, they destroyed the Enterprise for no reason at all. Garbage. Worst of the three- which is saying a lot.
Ugly. Ridiculous. Where design is negatively affected to suit the writer's room rather than remaining authentic. The design is not informed in the 'real-world'. The 2009 was better...small things make a difference! The other thing that bugs me is that the film says the ship is one size, but the windows and details on them say otherwise. Even more so with the Vengeance.

The -A at the end of Beyond is ugly as sin. Hate it so much. All of the proportions and connection points are way out of wack and it's just not aesthetically pleasing.

All three JJPrises are just ugly as hell; Discovery did a much better job blending the classic Enterprise in with contemporary sci-fi design choices than the movies did.
i think the beyond Enterprise looks good
the only problem i have with this Enterprise
its not good it looks like the refit Enterprise but with some ahm.... "detail" well it doesn't look good
