One of these was next to me in traffic today and man, it’s breathtaking in person. Absolutely beautiful.
Incredibly smart looking along with the XC90, I especially like the front grille.
the front grill that is copies from the maserati and Kia? LOL
chad haire Still looks best on the volvo.
No! The inspiration comes from old Volvo P1800
The xc90 looks horrible
Just bought a 2013 S60 T5, super stoked to continue my line of buying only Volvo for the rest of my life
I just brought this model and I love everything about it. The inside is amazing and its a pleasure to drive
@Paul Breedon I’m currently considering this car. What are your thoughts a year later? Thanks
@@alanaz4265 couldn't be happier. Drive few long 12 hr trips each way , never an issue ..best car I've had..get a T6 engine
@Paul Breedon Thank you for your response! That’s exactly what I’m looking at, T6 Inscription.
@@paulbreedon8500 I just got a 2018, going on a trip to upper peninsula Michigan I'm so excited!
@@alanaz4265 Drive it everyday and as yet no issues,,Love it.
the "get off the highway oldman" was hilarious
Chuck Franco track. not highway
For the first time in my life, I have fallen in love with a Volvo
I do not own this car. However, when I went to the rental counter in Ft Lauderdale to pick up what would normally be either a C-Class, an Audi A4 or similar, they said, they only had this S90. My first thought because of its size was, "it is a yacht". After leaving the lot, but before going to my meeting, I went back and asked if anything smaller had come in. The answer was no! So I kept it. Boy, I am so glad that I did. After they told me how to kill the irritating start/stop system, the car actually grew on me. It was so stately, large in size, but because it was square you could easily sense where the corners were. It was smooth, it was quick and it was quiet. Although not sports car nimble, it handles very well and it tracked just where you pointed the steering wheel. The main thing was the safety features. The lane keep assist feature was actually kind of aggressive. If you started to float over a lane without the turn signal on, it definitely pushed the steering wheel back with energy. When I had the road to myself, I release the steering wheel, with my fingers hovering over the rim of it and it went almost a mile, before insisting I grab the wheel. The 360 degree camera is awesome with augmented lines. The screen picture looks like a drone is hovering over your car as you maneuver. The automated cruise control, quickly stops the car down with braking if someone jumps right between you and the car ahead. The sensors let you know when you are too close to the curb and provided strong visual signals when pedestrians were behind me.
Last of all, the car for its huge size, really did get decent mileage. I'd never buy anything that big, but I think it is a great car. Go ahead, Volvo.
I like your review. I'm having a similar experience in the S90 I'm in now. This car can be deceptively quick and speedy, while being so quiet. It is a large car so I had to be careful when taking it through automated car washes but it has so many sensors I found it amusing to see for example how it behaved when the wheel cleaning solenoid approached this vehicle. The 360 camera however, needs some improvement.
@@Nightbird. have you driven the car yourself yet?
I plan on buying the 2018-2019 s90 in 3-4 years when it hit its sweet spot in depreciation. By then Volvo hopefully would of released yet another new design making this one even cheaper.
I just got my 2018. was 63,000 new, I got for 35,000. It still smells new, drives new. it's perfect. 34,000 miles.
@@nathannnathan85 Can I ask how reliable its been since you've got it? im looking at a CPO 2018 s90 inscription and im looking to get an extended warranty if its as unreliable as the xc90
@@mickeyu2893 I have had not a single problem yet over 20k miles. Still drives new. I would still have a warranty but I've been very happy! Best car ever.
@Nate Smith how about now? Are you happy with your S90? I recently purchased one!
"Sometimes it's best to ignore everyone else." Couldn't have said it better myself.
You were really inspired in this video, Micah! lol
I would choose this Volvo in a heartbeat instead of the german trio.
Great review as always Micah
Fantastic review as always! Love the track driving
Those HVAC vents should have been on a Lincoln or Caddy. Beautiful. Just a missed opportunity for the Americans per usual
The Volvo S90 really is the new interpretation of the modern luxury car. All the others luxury car makers spin massive engines at the top of line, but the S90 has an efficient 250 Hp 2.0 engine that can scoot admirably when demanded. No it's not a massive V-8 with 700 Hp, but it has so many USEFUL tech features that makes for a supremely secure driving experience. Unlike some automakers, you can actually turn off the auto engine stop feature from the very impressive touchscreen command center. They did this right. I found the Volvo S90 's tech and safety features so easy to use and so intuitive, I was actually amazed. I thought I would have to row through a river of complicated features, but the Scandinavians got this right. So thoughtful, so intelligent, so brilliant and with frugal fuel economy. Despite the somewhat miserly fuel economy, this vehicle is capable of getting out of it's own way when necessary. The 2018-19 Volvo is a serious and commanding executive level car. The price points are no where near the top level Mercedes, Lexis, Audi, and BMW but you will feel just as special in the car.
Awesome review!
Looks totally gorgeous, hats off to the designers.
Just bought this car a few days ago and I am in love with it.
Volvo is just killin' it with the styling of all their vehicles. Best looking design language going right now.
I have to say to watch what could be a hum drum auto review, Micah makes it entertaining and even a joy to watch. That said I think the design front AND back are cool and sleek and I'm glad to see cars coming back to looking good on the road again. I have seen a few of these Volvos on the road and I think they look good in person.
The back looks like a mid 90s car, Ill take it
musicnight yeah I agree, I love it!
A bit squared like the '05 Charger/300C
everyone who liked this will sleep comfortably
watch my S90 video put my name in the search engine
Chad, your video is also a real-world look at the S90. I enjoyed it!
just got the Volvo T6 wagon today
chad haire Ugh!!! Jealous! Lol
chad haire g y
that seat belt function should come standard in every modern car
BIG Thumbs Up 👍🏼 Volvo has really stepped up their game. Look 👀 at that Interior!
Saw one of these on the road the other day and had to look it up. Such a beautiful car
Wow. I'm glad we have you Micah. I love Volvo cars. I wish they had a 'no-text' or 'text-kill' feature. That would make me happier than the 'no-drive w/o seatbelt' feature.
Awesome music but, should I be surprised? Your reviews are awesome.
Good info. Thanks for posting.
Didn't expect that in the end.... You guys are awesome.
Great review 👍. As you said ‘sometimes just do what you want to do’. UK roads are full of BMW 5 series, Audis, Jaguar XF’s etc. This makes a refreshing alternative 👍👍.
As usual, a very well made and entertaining review from both of you. Please don't stop doing that.
Hi KBB! Have a great day!!
Back at ya!
I love your reviews
I swear this car would've been perfect if the rear didn't look ugly AF
I'm tired of these luxury cars boasting massive horsepower and shit. why can't I get accord gas mileage with a mercedes interior???
Jygga Swoop Lexus ES300h.
Jygga Swoop 34 mpg is pretty damn good.
Jygga Swoop Because the people buying these cars don't really care for mpg.
Mercedes CLA250 will do the trick.
K_Q_ J_H Nope no one would agree with that volvo fan boy :P
Mercedes-Benz E class has the best interior design and comfort compared to its Competitors. Even better than S60.
Great video.
I've fallen in love the elegance of wood trims
These are, without a doubt, my favorite car reviews. Looking forward to the V90 review as that would be where I'd prefer to spend the kids college fund.
I know, short funny and gets to the point without spending 10 minutes of a car's window buttons.
I love how this car looks...except for the rear-end.
I think this is one of the best looking cars on the road right now. And the interior might be better than the exterior. You don’t see many of them, but I would take this over the other cars mentioned in the review.
Very cool video,
Informative and interesting, when you put the helmet on you should've taken your shirt off for sporting effects, Lol.
I liked the way that Porsche dude said see ya later dude! and sped off.
Do you remember back in the day the proverbial Volvo was the car on every 80s and 90s movie of the week scenario
Thank you for this review! It helped me make the decision and I just bought a highly loaded, new 2017 S90 T6 Inscription.
I’m going to get one tomorrow are you still driving and liking yours?
@@jarekcarden1709 I have the unique 2017 model. I love it. I’m retired and drive it all around. Will yours have air-shocks?
@@1973TJM I JUST GOT IT 🎉 I’m 19 it’s my first big purchase I’m very excited about it I don’t think it has air shocks tho I feel plenty of the road while driving
@@1973TJM I have a 2018 s90 t5 momentum
@@jarekcarden1709 Congratulations! I was coming from a used '04 VW Phaeton 8-cylinder--and specifically did not want the longer 2018 S90. Have you joined any Volvo forums yet? My user name is usually PhaetonTim.
That's an awesome shirt!
have a great day everyone. you are beautiful.
It's Friday where I am
get of the internet old maan.
man I wish it was available in a V6, turbo 4s don't really do it for me. however I'm considering buying Volvo now just waiting for the new s60.
I bought a 2015 I6 Turbo R-Design because it was the last of the Volvo 6-cylinders. If my next car is another Volvo, it is going to be something else trying to get used to that 4-cylinder :(
Where have I seen those roads before, Oh wait, it's right next to my house!
OMG!!! Micah!!!!! That shirt though. I must have!!!!
love your shirt
I work at a Volvo plant. I may be getting one of these. It is an impressive car. I have a 2008 Ford Edge (which is awesome and I adore it) with pretty high mileage and I could use another vehicle to give the Ford a break from time to time.
Love him!!!
does that porsche have a 4-cylinder too? if it has the base engine, right?
Epoch by Tycho.... Right mix to test the Bowers and Wilkins system!!
A very nice car with great design!
But why is the area arround the driver so narrow?
I like the t-shirt.
Where did you get it?
Snag the wagon over this. It looks gorgeous.
Isn’t there a AWD T5 Momentum option as well?
how many miles do these cars get and are they still around to get parts ? I heard that the manufacterer is now only making electric cars now is this true?
Great review, but c'mon guys! Put the headlight stalk into auto for the review so we can see the lightwork. You guys always have the LED's off!
What if you unplug the seat belt while driving? Or maybe it wouldn't allow you to unplug it.
You guys review one of Lincoln's sedans
I do wish the XC90 had the S90 style HVAC vents. I think they look more upscale than the current XC90 vents.
I have a 2016 Volvo S-60 and if the parking sensors on this Volvo are anything like my parking sensors, start writing checks to Volvo for body damage. Back-up sensors are intermittent at best. The large yellow bollards at the Waffle House? nope can't detect them, people in certain clothing? Nope, can't detect them. No audible sound at all. If you are going to buy a high-end Volvo, check the internet for all the problems customers are having with them. Volvo customer service, another joke. They said everything was fine with the sensors up until I had video of it happening. Next thing they said, I turned off the system. Just check before you buy a Volvo. FYI: I also have a 2014 Q-50 Infinity, not one problem.
Up until the late 1980s a true mid-sized car (todays "full-sized" cars) would still , for the most part, fit three grown-ups comfortably in the rear seat.
I think he's dashingly handsome. And the car too.
Where can I find that T-shirt you're wearing?
I think all of the Volvo models are good looking right now.
"get off the road - old man" "GET OFF THE ROAD - OLD MAN" i always love people who mouth off but won't pull over for a very personal discussion.. and yeah i am an old man but you don't get to disrespect me no matter what i drive.
I don't like that "seat belt must be on to move" feature at all. Nice car though other than that
this looked like palmdale,ca ? is it?
I wonder if this car will be available in Kenya
Wish it had a V6 but overall the car's looking great.
17 vs. 18 changes?? Back seat comfort?
The v90 looks much nicer than the s90. The interior is wonderful though. So elegant
Paul Hojda, the materials on the top of the dash are from some other planet. So beautiful and thoughtful.
718 review coming soon?
Yep! It's currently in post production.
Kelley Blue Book omg your post production is really really high quality & the best cinematography !!! :****
I like how the Swedish flag matches the KKB logo.
Dam this car is sexy I have a 06 Volo s60 but this thing right here is a shark on the road
I liked it...........
Until I saw the back....
Is the S90 based on the 2017 Lincoln Continental?
it fine sadan
Gorgeous in person. Not as large as I had expected, however. I have a Honda Clarity and it's just as big. That being said, this is on my list to look at in 3 years when depreciation has worked its magic. Micah, you're not hard to look at either......just sayin'.
Volvo x Micah thank u
Does this comes w sunroof?
tbh i watch these reviews for this dude LOL hes so funny
How did they screw the rear end that bad ? How?
2:26 that's exactly how it feels moving your hand on it
Where did he get the t-shirt?
Anything on reliability?
Well, Volvo still hasn't gone back to RWD. But at least they tweaked the styling with a short front overhang and long dash-to-axle ratio to give the car at least the appearance of an up-scale RWD premium luxury car.
Big fan of the XC90; wish I could afford it
I need that t shirt
I can't seem to find it on the googles. :(
Your T Shirt is pretty cool :)
that shirt though. I like it!
hey can u do for BMW 7 series.......
Who's watching this is 2019?
Damn 6 years i feel old😢
vlovo. is very cool car.best comfortable. and strong. easy to clean and drive.
The rear looks rather unflattering, imo.
Shell Casing feel like an audi s7 esqe backend would have been appropriate.
Shell Casing I agree and disagree. When seeing it in real life it looks nicer than on video.
Shell Casing exactly what I was going to say. if they just didn't put lights on the trunk, rear would look so much better
Shell Casing ugly in simpler terms
Even a rolls royce doesn't have the nicest rear either.
I am currently looking for a car in this class. I have to admit that to me these look beautiful inside and outside. But 4 cylinder engine and "nanny state philosophy" of the car would prevent me from buying this one. May be I will buy one when I am older.
I don't know of a late model luxury sedan that does not qualify for Nanny statehood. Just to differing degrees.
whats with the back design though
Nice shirt
If that car was RWD and sportier Id buy it over all of the German cars any day. I love that design, especially the back.
