How come bro is a Stalker fan and doesn't know what a flesh is?
I recognized it too Xp

Or an emission either. He called it "emissions" like bruh. And he seperated bandits from stalkers, bandits are stalkers just a different faction.

He’s obviously not a stalker fan
Did that guy play any STALKER game ?
STALKERs are an elite fighting force ? what ?
The game is more open ? That was the whole point of the old games
It's a post apocalyptic game ? what ? It's about the exclusion zone around the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl powerplant.....etc etc
Yeah I got the impression he's never played a stalker game in his life. Didn't even know what an emission was. Said "emissions are coming in" like he didn't even know that the event is called an emission, not emissions. And he talked about it like it's this brand new thing. At first I thought, maybe he only played Shadow of Chernobyl (no emission gameplay loop in that one) but then he kept talking about things like they were brand new. Didn't know what a Flesh was for instance. Plus all the things you mentioned.

I find this to be the case with most Gaming media outlets. It's pretty funny to watch

It is more open; they've said from the start that they've turned The Zone into one big seamless open world as opposed to the old system. Not a fan of the idea myself but it is what it is.
Other than that, yeah this guy is clearly not an experienced STALKER fan.
I mean if it isn't a little janky is it truly a Stalker game? Jokes aside considering the the situation regarding it's development it's a real testament to the developers how solid it looks.

Looks nice 😮
Metro is not heavily inspired by Stalker. Just huge chunk of the original team of Stalker shadow of Chernobyl left and founded their own studio - 4A games. And then bough the rights for Gluhovsky' novels.
Not huge chunks, only 3 devs are part of 4A games who were part of the Stalker team, also it was inspired by stalker of the atmosphere aspects, Stalker is also some kind of inspiration by book called road side picknick, and a movie but compared to metro book, stalker took some aspects of book nothing more
It's a running meme within post-soviet gamedev scene, "made by the developers of Stalker" even if a studio just hired a janitor who worked for GSC
Something to cheer me up; truly glorious. ;-;
Why can’t they just release footage of the demo online? Like it makes no sense honestly.
Because people who played the game said it's quite buggy and not optimized properly, showing these issues to the public will give a negative impact and opinion
@@Krahamus I guess. But I personally think it would really help them. Being transparent would be more respectful n my eyes and seeing what they should focus on improving could really benefit them too.
While I did hear negative stuff about the bugs and stuff I did also hear a lot of positivity in how they nailed the Stalker feel and overall vibe.
@@psychofroggy8062No what they will do is release a buggy, unfinished mess and then fall back on it being because of the war in Ukraine being the reason and that if you think otherwise you are a Russian dog.
Seriously these guys are exactly the kinds of people that would pull that
not quite sure about the whole bunkers you need to find to survive an emission
of course, surviving an emission in a shed made out of wood is a bit overpowered
but if I can't survive in a normal brick house or some other concrete structure and I have to find bunkers along the way where I have to go to later
idk it's a bit weird I think
There is no confirmation that you need to find a bunker, demo ends at finding a bunker before emission, it does not necessarily mean you are going to be in one of them
in the latest trailer it also showed the MC trying to get into what looked like a brick outhouse. or it could also be a small underground basement.
I also think it won't just e "Bunkers" there'll probably be makeshift holes, basements and such you could hide out in. I actually love that idea. I can already imagine myself viciously fighting for a hole in a ground as the sky is turning red and my brain is about to be melted by the zone. sounds perfectly like stalker.
Hmmmmmm I dunno. I very much like the "open world" nature of these games, but I also don't want it to be a total sandbox like I dunno Mount and Blade. So some way to "funnel" you into story checkpoints is probably useful in an open world game. That said, I would like emissions to be a natural survivable gameplay element rather than just scripted story beats. It would be nice to be able to find shelter "natrually" rather than these scripted areas, so maybe you can survive in a shed if you dose yourself with anti radition medicine and still take damage, and survive in a brick house with minor radition poisoning, and in a bunker with no effects. I mean, many open world games (Kingdom Come, Bethesda games, Baldurs gate 3) sort of let the players come to the story beats by themselves rather than forcing you.
@@richardsims5158 I don't think of those bunkers as scripted events or anything
but more like fixed points you need to get to to survive
in the other Stalker games, most structures with a roof let you survive an emission, but from the video it sounds like you could only survive in specific locations now, meaning when you are like in the middle of nowhere you have to book it to the next map marker where it is save, instead of "naturally" running to the next house
you know what I mean? the idea that you need different medications to survive in different locations is a nice touch
@@Krahamus they already said, that the first bunker is scripted
I just hope that you don't have to find those bunkers first to ensure survival of an emission
it would just be a bit restrictive I think
but yes, nothing is confirmed, just said that I hope that won't be the case
how was the state of the demo because a lot of people said it was exceptionally buggy and riddle with crashes ect
Average day in stalker I guess

Yep. Unfamiliar with what an emission is. Called Stalkers an elite fighting force. Never seen a Flesh before. @@twistedintotruth8187 oh I'm not disagreeing with you, I was merely elaborating on what the OP was saying. It's far too close to the release date of the sequel to look into remastering the originals for the newer generation before its release. The original games can barely run on computers without rolling back your drivers (a trick that works every time for clear sky, my favorite of the trilogy) and they have a billion very vital keybinds, you can't really port that over into consoles
@@mniakan754 Trilogy ? Isn’t talker only one game out so far? Also Stalker is like 20 year old game. I don’t see why that would have issue running on todays hardwares.
When he says metro is inspired by stalker, isn't metro based on the books?
Yes it is, but the metro is inspired by the stalker from atmosphere perspective since a group of ex stalker devs founded 4A games, stalker is also based a little bit of the book called roadside picknick, but instead telling story 1:1 like metro did they just took some ideas of it but not story
correct the used the premise of roadside picnic and the stalker film mixed with the perfect placement and disaster. the real key is under the surface this game also has fallout vibes with secret government experiments hidden within the zone. anyone that doesnt know the story of stalker prior either needs to play all three original games or do a full story review on youtube and more side content videos about them to understand what they are walking into at least to some degree. @@Krahamus
LETS GOOOOO
Im getting metro exodus vibes from this game. Which I absolutely loved. Is this similar?
Yeah it was around before metro
for a more comprehensive answer, Stalker was the OG, the metro team (2033) was founded by half the original stalker dev team that left due to disagreements with the then owner, Metro 2033 was made with alot of code from stalker *despite claims to the contrary and so the two are very similar, only difference is STALKER is way more open than metro and metro is, up until now generally more polished but also very linear
Yes the metro was founded by ex stalker devs, that's why it shares similarities with metro, but they are quite different games, metro even exodus are more linear game, and more static, stalker is shooter with light rpg mechanics, you need to drink, eat, you need to bandage if bleeding, you do quests, and you can freely travel between zones like true rpg game, also stalker have a life system, basically makes zones feel a live on what is happening in them.
Yes but also no, stalker came about before metro 2033 and it’s an open world game with more emphasis on the survival part then scripted shooting scenes
So, if i liked metro (when i played it one of the most fun i had in a while on a single player shooter/survival) i should like this one? Lol
Not worried modding will change any issues 😂 as long as it has a decent base.
Based on a russin scifi book called "Roadside Picnic".
negative. the premise is used its not solely based on it. its a combo of roadside and the stalker film. they set the backdrop around the CNPP disaster. within this the government setup multiple underground labs to study a information sphere around earth called the noosphere they wanted to tap into it and remove all negative emotions from the world and foster world peace. however it backfired on them the C con and created the zone as we see it in stalker series. you are correct that its a piece of premise source material but if it was based on it then it wouldve been aliens that created the zone not the Ccon experiment
This guy has no clue what the game is about.
That's what it looks like. They didn't reveal any story so he's telling us basic stuff we already know.
