- Almost 12 years after the beloved original, Space Marine 2 seems to be building upon everything that made Space Marine exciting, satisfying, and bloody brutal.

I REALLY like the fact that it seems gunplay and melee are going to be more melded together, rather than being more separate in the original SM.
is even more amazing considering that by the time space marine was released people thought the gun-melee combination was already top notch. usually in other games with both options either melee or gunplay is heavily nerf to not overshadow the other.
@@setiem13 The instant switch between melee and ranged was wonderful. Most other games that tried like Gears of War had melee just be a button mashing prompt.

Indeed, all I've ever wanted is the same system from the first being added and improved upon and boy does it seem like they have. I cant wait for this
@@setiem13 Evil west did a decent job of meshing the two. I'd say it's more melee focused. But overall there are good reasons to use range
This game really shows how big Space marines are compared to normal humans
imagine the backlash if they made them smaller

This game looks absolutely GORGEOUS, well worth the over a decade of waiting, can't wait to play it.
I love that Warhammer has made so much money that all the recent games just seem to be an answer to the question "What if we made the coolest thing possible?"
I remember buying the first one for 3 bucks in the "used games" box. Putting in the disc having never heard of this game or even 40k at all. Instant hook 😂 I love how it felt like playing gears of war and god of war at the same time 😂

@bastiat4855 I cope by playing Aliens Dark Descent. It's not perfect, but casualty rates against the swarm can get pretty nasty.
@bastiat4855 i mean we kinda did as the veteran and ogryn in Darktide (still waiting on console port COUGH) but yeah, imagine a battlefield 3 style game where instead of respawning when you die the camera just shifts to another random guardsman

I’m not usually hyped for games, but, this preview looks awesome.
Definitely going to pray to the Omnissiah for my PC to handle the swarms.
hopefully they use a specialised system to help you with your lag

I just hope they give the option to let we keep the helmet on.
It would be insane if they didn't seeing as the collectors edition statue lets you choose.
Theres a reason why the most downloaded mod is one to let you keep your helmet on.

One thing I would like to have is the ability to wear the helmet, I know it's a small detail, but it's something I've wanted since the original space marine

@bastiat4855 Are Astartes Pariah's a thing?! I've never come across one in the lore but I don't suppose its impossible. I had heard some speculate that Astartes gene seed/organs have a bit of warp fuckery in them though, meaning a blank would likely reject the organs and die rather than ascend.
"This game...Almost makes me want to paint Ultramarines" is the biggest compliment i think ive ever heard a 40k fan use. cant wait for this game!

They did such a good job making the battles feel massive, epic and neverending. I've never been this hyped for a Warhammer game, this looks so well done.

All this aside the multiplayer is what I'm really excited for I remember it was a ton of fun and I've played the multiplayer of the first Space Marine long after the game came out. I wouldn't be surprised if there's people still playing it today.

The multiplayer was severely underrated, and the Horde mode was an absolute blast

Dude, you are the perfect person to preview this. Its nice to hear others have been singing its praises, but you seem like you're looking at this through the same eyes most of us are. People who know the lore inside out, and people with hundreds of hours in Space Marine 1, that have developed strong muscle memory for its combat system. A first hand account from you confirming what we're seeing and making comparisons to SM1 has really filled me with confidence. I can't remember the last time we waited this long for a game, and weren't immediately disappointed. Remember Dawn of War 3 (shudders)? Neither do I actually, the kind Inquisitor pressing the bolt pistol to my neck would like me to be very clear that I have no memory of Dawn of War 3 at all....
there'd better be a few places where we can use the auto-cannon. it isn't 40k or Space Marine related if there's no auto-cannon.
Is there some sort of skill system? Like upgrades or progression?

The infantry soldiers kneeling while the Ultra Marine walks by them was the absolute coolest touch. Like a ton of people who don’t know the deep lore will play this and that’s an amazing was to convey how nearly divine they are to the Imperium.
Really hope they add the ability to turn off certain UI elements. That giant circle icon completely covering the enemy is absolutely terrible looking
I love WWZ gameplay, I can’t wait to see how they built upon those swarm mechanics!

So far, the only enemies I've seen are Warriors, Gargoyles and Hormagaunts. What other enemies are there, or is that a secret? :)

@@eduardob6981nah. Too big. Maybe a Carnifex but a Biotitan is prolly only gonna be helping keep boarding Nids off a Titan while it rock and socks the Biotitan.

I hope there is a load out option this time. Jetpacks and such being level exclusive or heavy weapons such as heavy bolsters just being temporary picks ups would be fine. I'm also hoping 1 gets a rerelease on next gen. I can't play it without breaking out my 360.

I hope we get a wide variety of enemies like a lictor that has been stalking you all game, a scene where we have to use atv walker to fight a carniflex, when we are in the tunnels beneath the battlefield we encounter genestealers and genestealer cults
Imagine a game with this level of fidelity for hundreds of the endless armies of 40k

I'm impressed by the swarms as they're shown in this video, does the tyranids justice as in the lore they do descend on a planet in their millions.

Looks fantastic really nailes the aesthetic of the 40K universe and seeing the Space Marines finally look big an menacing looks awesome. Hope there's a horde mode as well since it seems perfect for the Tyranids.

Replaying the first space marine on my steam deck to refresh the memory. Such a slept on game. I loved the multiplayer back in the day. Super excited for this one

My only complaint with this first impression is they should have picked a different guard regiment. Cadians arent everywhere on every battlefield, and not every standard issue kit looks like theirs.
I’m hoping that we can eventually get space marine 1 on Xbox it’s a game I unfortunately missed out on and would love to go back and play it

I just bought the Target exclusive Space Marine Board Game! Totally painting some Ultramarines to go along with my Captain Titus as I await the release of the Video Game.

I hope after the campaign there is a way for us to customize Titus' look to make him into a Blood Raven or Black Templar.
Or have them be skins you can put on at anytime

Cant wait to platinum this. Am an avid 40k fan. I had hoped we would see other enemies in the game like Eldar but probably not. Genestealer cults could have been included though, but I guess we'll see.
Genestealers should be a given ,considering they act as vanguards for the main nid fleet

Saber interactive was definitely the studio to get the job done. Can't wait to see what they show next. Really hope we get boss fights in a similar fashion to the ones in gears of war. I won't be satisfied till I get to kick a Carnifex in the nuts

seems like lots of good games are coming out recently, and im all here for it!
The game looks awesome. Gonna miss the orca though, they were some of the most fun enemies in games since the first one, especially the big orc boss. I hope there is some humor in this one as well.
I know very little about the Warhammer lore but I loved the first one and can't wait for this one.
