Paul is 100 % right. I was keto / carnivor and was trying to donate plasma at biolife. The entire time I stayed in ketosis I wasn't able to donate because of ELECTORATE imbalances. As soon as I added fruit raw dairy and honey it fixed those issues and can now donate. This is NOT bullshit hes 100% accurate
Brother thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into your channel. It is a massive wealth of knowledge that is been so helpful to me. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Dude you have changed my life. Without you I would still be searching for the nutritional information I’ve always wanted. Blessings upon you and your family forever.
I found you through your book the Carnivore Code, but I have to say, I really respect that you keep up with your research and make changes as needed. Makes you MORE credible in my eyes.
While there is no "one size fits all" for everyone...I know that for myself I feel so much better (and haven't gained any weight) adding fruit, raw dairy, and honey back in to my animal-based diet. I had terrible trouble sleeping (from trying intermittent fasting), heart palpitations, and low energy from keto and even strict carnivore. Thank you so much Dr. Saladino for having an open mind and continuing to learn and help us.
I did frequent fasting (1-3 day) and got heart palpitations. The tests revealed I was critically low in many electrolytes. The lowest was potassium. I had to take horse sized pills of it for weeks to elevate my level into the normal range. Took a general electrolytes complex daily for the rest. I had lost over 50 lbs, felt good, but I didn't allow enough recovery time between fasting. Electrolytes get depleted when fasting so you must replenish them. That was over 5 years ago and all is good now.
I suffered from allergy induced asthma. I started a keto diet years ago with positive results. For the last 6 months I've been on a carnivore diet with some fruit and raw honey with the best results for my asthma. I'm assuming that switching from veggies to fruit as my add on to the meat/dairy diet is the reason I'm doing better. Thank you Paul.
I'm 70 yrs old, and eat like keto/carnivore. I do include blueberries and raspberries into my diet and feel great. My blood pressure has dropped 40 points since doing keto. I might include some honey and see what my blood pressure does. I'm off all blood pressure meds now...
My bp dropped 25 points on keto/low carb, I was so HAPPY. But about 1.5 yrs after I started, my blood pressure became elevated again. Now I’m on blood pressure meds, and I have never been on blood pressure meds my whole life. And I do have problems keeping my sodium level in range. I’m going to “try” the fruit/honey thing, and see if it helps with my elevated blood pressure and decreased sodium.
Ketards are officially done in 2024. I was once low-carb, I started having very bad, depressive-inducing reflux. 6 months on low-carb reflux are gone completely. Milk and probiotics have helped repopulate my gut flora. Depression is gone, energy has increased 3-fold. Thanks Paul!
Being in a ketogenic diet made me so stressful and unsatisfied. Once I included a few pieces of fruit and honey here and there my mood improved and I felt more satisfied and relaxed. Thanks for these fantastic videos. I do appreciate the studies you show. We are learning so much with you.
I’ve been practicing different methods of carbohydrate restriction to minimize symptoms of hypoglycemia since the late 90’s (that includes ketogenic diets). I had been doing “Paleo” for almost 10 years when the Paleo Diet trend took off. I’ve been seeking in earnest to eat an ancestrally appropriate diet for many years. I’ve just found your content within the last few weeks and I’m extremely happy that you’re following the evidence and speaking up on these potentially life changing topics.
Thanks a lot Paul for this empowering video. You are absolutely correct. All sugar is not created equal. If it's not naturally sweetened, avoid it. Is just that simple.
I was so afraid of adding maple syrup “deliberately” and honey because there’s cancer in my family and fibrosis too…. I have been working out and trying to gain weight… not scared of fruit, or honey anymore!!!I feel amazing everyday!!!! 😱
When I first started my seeking of better health I was given the recommendation of eliminating all corn products, including high fructose corn syrup. That alone was enough to see huge improvements in my health. Less inflammation, better skin, weight loss and less puffiness were some of the benefits. Will never touch the stuff again.
My life has improved so much by incorporating fruit and raw dairy into my carnivore lifestyle. Found your channel a few months ago and really enjoy the content!
This is great information, thank you! I have an auto immune disorder that has been wreaking havoc so I decided four days ago to start a carnivore diet. I’m going to continue the diet for 30 days with no carbs just because I’m reacting to something and I have no idea what, so I want to reset my body. After 30 days, I’m going to start to introduce fruits one by one and see how I do. Thank you so much for the information!
So informative... thank you so much. It's funny I have been on and off Keto and Carnivore and I really have not lost much weight but have had some positive affects. But I think the worst for me has been not being able to sleep. Also digestion and stomachaches have been haunting me. I decided to do a 3 day coconut fast starting today and would love some feedback on coconut water. I watched several videos and need some clarity from someone like you. I am grateful...
Wow, this hit me when you described how HFCS is actually made. It's an artificial sweetener! We take something that doesn't even have fructose in it and construct an artificial fructose from starch! So likely the two biggest (nutritional) drivers of metabolic dysfunction are simply artificial fats (seed oils) and artificial carbs (HFCS)! Both are loaded with contaminants from processing, devoid of micronutrients, and really only intended to deliver a very cheap high calorie product with a very high profit margin.
I agree 💯% with CarnivoreMD on fruit. Eating only strictly Carnivore or Keto caused my liver to enlarge and become fatty. Then after eating pineapple 🍍 strawberries 🍓 avocado 🥑 papaya banana 🍌 and watermelon 🍉 my midsection shrunk and my liver decreased in size. Ironically I'm reading 📚 these fruits are loaded with digestive enzymes among other things devoid in vegetables.
Kiwi and pineapple are game changers, help protein digestion and assimilation. Melons very hydrating and easy to digest with barely any anti nutrition mainly the seeds.
You should clarify, idk what version of carnivore you were eating to be able to say it gave you fatty liver. Maybe keto if you included alcohol or fruit and you were already pretty insulin resistant. I’m glad you found something that ended up working for you.
Had bacon, eggs and an orange for dinner 👌I have always loved fruit and berries, but I had problem with blood sugar drops when I was younger and 2011 I tried keto and was amazed over the fact that I didn't had to suffer from those drops and therefore continued with keto. Lately I have experimented with fruit and now I know that those blood sugar drops were caused by the starchy diet I ate, not fruit.
I did keto for the energy. I also lost weight when I didn't need to, which made me underweight. I'm not sure if the energy I had was because of keto or because of the bulletproof coffees, but I wasn't doing measurements and probably over did it. I never woke up so early and ready to attack the day than I did when I was doing keto, but I was only getting like 4 hours of sleep. I had to stop after around 8 months because I was having heart palpitations and it scared the hell out of me. I also had cramping. I didn't do any exercise. Nowadays, I try to eat a pound of beef a day with occasional fruits, honey, and raw milk with maple syrup. I had my testosterone checked a couple months ago and it 831 when the range is 250-827.
Did keto for 2 years and did lose fat, but also just didn't feel great. It resulted in having to eat fewer and fewer calories to maintain the loss. After looking at Ray Peat's work regarding food (not so much the woo-woo stuff), I am now eating far more calories, have tons more energy, and feel great and am losing weight. There is a lot to his ideas about keeping metabolism working at an optimum level that keto ignores. Love eating my fruit (including fruit-type vegs), meats, juice, potatoes, etc. Glad you have come around to the same conclusions!
Thank you Dr your openness to share, it has help me so much, I was really struggling with a strict carnivore and added apples, pears sometimes honey, sometimes organic Maple syrup and it made such a difference I feel much better, no more fatigue, again thank you.
Excellent information. Thank you. I tried strict keto for 3 months.Felt mentally miserable and exhausted. So have done as you suggested reintroduced honey and fruit..Oh joy..feel soo much better..And SHOW me the yummae honey ..Intuitively I just KNOW this is the right way to eat..Thanks soo much Paul..now I've just got to eliminate that filthy dirty decaf coffee..and my body will be singing..
Very helpful. By using a combination of listening only, rather than watching the distracting hand motions, and frequent stops and replays to slow the rapid delivery, I got a lot out of this.
Would love to see an episode with you interviewing Dr. Chris Palmer who uses ketogenic diets to treat and heal chronic mental illnesses. Thanks for all the great info, doc!
The only person/doctor in the Carnivore/Keto community that I listen to and respect. I just cannot do Carnivore diet. Tried a couple of times and just cannot deal with it. Insomnia is the worst. And overall not sustainable longterm. Maybe because eating large mammals all the time do not come naturally to me. I feel so much better with adding some fruit, white rice. I read a book called ‘potato not prozac’ which has a few simple rules and one of them is to eat one potato before going to bed. It cam be eaten in different ways but with not much oil. This supposedly does some kind of magic to our serotonin and hunger signals. But OMG I literally pass out and sleep like a baby. Opposite of what pure Carnivore diet does to me.
This dude is neither carnivore nor keto. He's a sugarholic sand it's gonna catch up with him. Having a potato before bed will put you to sleep because your body wants to stay still and devote all its energy to digesting carbs and packing them on as fat as fast and possible.
@Mika Foxx actually incorrect (i am currently carnivore btw) check out thomas delauers video on this topic. Insulin helps you metabolize melatonin. That being said, the sleep problem resolves for me after about week 3 on zero carb.
@@mikafoxx2717 When I was Whole Food plant-based, I was eating the equivalent of about 3 to 4 russet size potatoes a day along with lots of coconut cream, and I didn’t gain any weight from this! I also had a big salad every day with a nut based dressing and was actually eating more calories than recommended for my weight. eating that many potatoes did not make me fat! And I even ate the potatoes with a saturated fat!
I think you're right on with all this information Paul. By the way there are a lot of doctors and other people talking about this information, people just need to look for it. The problem is everybody wants a simple solution and then just forget about it. You said a couple things that were important. One thing is you want to keep growing and evolving. To do that you have to always keep searching and experimenting. The other thing you said was I hope people will experiment with this. There is no one truth fits all. Everybody's body is different. From an evolutionary standpoint people would eat whatever was available to them, they would turn nothing away including fruit. I mean what is the meaning of Hunter gatherer. What is the word gathering describing? It's sad people don't want to have an open mind and just bash you instead of saying oh maybe there is something to this. Keep up the good work.
"Every body wants a simple solution". That's why it's so hard to find. Because it is simple. Don't eat processed foods and seed oils. That's all there is to it.
This podcast may have save me from damaging my kidneys and maybe other organs. I visited my doctor for my annual checkup and had blood tested. There were two tests that were way out of wack and two weeks earlier they were normal. No more Chaffee info going to stick with your advice!! Thanks Howard Hackney
@@mikafoxx2717 Well Mika You've made a statement and that's fine. But you need to explain yourself. The man explained why these things could be harmful to us and what we should think about before consuming them.
@@h.e.hackney5499 I've looked at a lot of the science and biology, and it contradicts a lot of his claims of non-harm. A1c doesn't measure Fructose glycation, and the reason it may go up on carnivore is simply because red blood cells can live longer when they're healthier, which when the average glucose glycation of red blood cells over their lifetime is the measure of A1c. His overconsumption of liver and such may contribute to overdosing on some nutrients like vitamin a. Liver has something like 1,200% rda of vit A in around half a pound of it. His quoted studies on rats don't correlate to humans as they are not very related to humans when it comes to digestion. They need over 90% fat to even go into ketosis. Some studies he's quoted in the past were sponsored by a sugar food company. His diet is no doubt healthier than what most people are eating, but Saladino's rapidly increased appearance of aging once adding fruit is not a good sign. Many of the other actual scientists and doctors involved with up to date research claim that Saladino's diet is most probably misguided, and misguiding others that really cannot handle sugar, like diabetics.
@@mikafoxx2717 Thanks Mika I love it when someone can come back with other answers. We all need to look at everything and make good decisions. At 69 I want to stay healthy!
Paul you are now my favorite influencer/educator in the carnivore/whole foods lifestyle space. It ls beautiful to witness you resisting the dogma and pressure of the strict carnivore community. They can be just as appalling as the vegans. A sign of true intelligence, humility and humbleness. As someone who failed at all these lifestyle changes/ ideas propagated by the best of the best such as Dr. Robert Lustig, Dr. Ben Bikman, Dr. Robert Cywes, Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Herman Pontzer, yourself, etc. I would follow these lifestyle changes but eventually reverted back to the same old habits regaining all the weight. Failure has been my biggest success, I finally connected all the dots. No offense but you are only teaching us how to better manage our addiction, we eat because we are in pain. We are using food to soothe the pain from the trauma due to the adverse environment, bad parenting received during the most crucial part of our development 0-5years old. “Abuse”(hate sounding like a victim) could be something not so obvious like being ignored or not held as a child or in my case corporal punishment my 1st year of school in the Caribbeans(I’m timid and over weight now, the insulin resistance and over eating caught up with me)all stressful moments I eat. It’s the shame and fear of getting flogged. It’s the subconscious running in my background, reason I’m scared of authority, becoming a ppl pleaser, always give more than I’m comfortable with then regret it, fell victim to narcissistic relationships. Dr. Paul put yourself in our shoes, you probably got the love, adulation and security as a kid. But not everyone is fortunate to have great care takers like you have(you got to go with your father to the hospital while he looked after patients, mine rarely acknowledged my existence) you were absolutely right though, fat loss starts in the brain… the subconscious brain. Dr Gabor Maté said instead asking why the addiction, ask why the pain? You’re biggest issue was gaining weight on the vegan diet and probably the gas that came along with so much greens lol. A lot of us use food as comfort that’s are issue. I hope some how you read this, connect the dots and spread the message on your platform. Dr. Humble MD. Cheers and sorry for this choppy bad grammatical rant.
Dear Paul, I think you should do a video on ways to reduce phytic acid(and other bad things) from stuff like beans, grains etc and whether or not it’s a significant enough decrease to make the food worth eating.
I do Keto. I eat lots of bacon every morning, along with 3 fried eggs. For lunch and dinner I have 3 fried hamburger patties. Everything is fried in butter and bacon grease. My libido is better than it has ever been and I'm almost 59 years old. I credit the Ketogenic diet.
Ironically, I found out trying the Animal Based diet for 24 days, that I cannot handle fructose very well. No matter how much fruit or juice I had, my energy levels just got lower. Started smelling of sweat, farting and when ingesting honey I got stomach cramps. On day 24, I had potatoes. My energy came back and I felt amazing. Still don't regret trying the diet, made me find something new about myself. Everyone is different! Listen to your body.
you have to try both to see what works. But if you were chronically overweight then chances are adding sugar back into your diet too soon will set you back heaps. Even " good " sugars like is being offered here. If you suffered from metabolic conditions then healing time away from the root cause is essential. Take the advice with caution and be mindful of the reaction your body delivers separate to your taste buds. For me, just adding fruit and honey back after months on carni made me start to want to drink beer again, I started thinking about it, maybe a vodka and soda won't matter, the justification to drink started back in my mind. I was so alarmed I stopped the honey and fruit and within about 10 days it all settled back to the normal I had again. Alcohol is after all a fermented sugar, a very powerful one.
Paul we need to delve deeper into the iron overload situation that seems pretty clear that you had. What do you hypothesize was the cause? This is groundbreaking. There are so many of us struggling with iron overload high shbg low free t. I wonder what could be the cause and solution. It isn't natural to have to donate blood every 3 months just to keep free t high. Gotta be something causing this.
I imagine that a major problem is that injury was a normal every day thing for hunter gatherers. Going through thickets, bruising and cutting your body on roots and stones, and fighting rival humans for food and resources probably meant that they were always healing from something. Parasites often would be detrimental to iron levels, as would eating the occasional plant matter during starvation. As good as ruminant meat is for humans and beneficial for helping to eliminate PUFAS from cell membranes, I don't think that it's realistic to say that they were the only nor primary meat source for primitive humans. The sheer amount of organ meats eaten while generally beneficial would not logically have been available in the ratios seen discussed sometimes by Saladino.
I went on keto to lose weight but also to keep insulin lower and become more insulin sensitive. I found out that it sure does help with that but it is the eating just 2 meals a day that I stumbled upon that also helps....you don't need to eliminate good healthy whole food carbs. You need to eliminate snacking in between. Whatever diet that allows you to comfortably eat 2 meals a day and not get hungry in between is a diet that works. Control of insulin is what matters and keto isn't the only way to control it
Interesting anecdote; After reintroducing well cooked white rice to my animal based diet my SIBO actually got WAY better. I have zero clue on how that's even possible. I was bloating from both animal foods and fruits and I was bloating from the rice aswell the first few days. But suddenly my bloating just decreased massively. Huh?🤪🤔
You should interview Brad Marshall about sugar's role in keeping humans obese and hibernating. He says that sugar upregulates SCD1 (Stearate : Oleate conversion) 4x as much as starch. Oleic bodyfat has a strong correlation to obesity. Would be interesting to have that discussion. I'm saying that as someone who feels much better with added fruit, not trolling. I am concerned about the too much fructose and sucrose though.
I’ve never heard this about carbs and diabetes. Would love if it you elaborated in another podcast . This is very important for so many of us. So prediabetes is from stress .?
Just adding honey back into my diet, what a difference. I consume it warm water as a drink, and with my beef during meals. I find it has taken my 12hr before I'm asleep to 15-16hr
I do OMAD. Nothing is off the menu. No restrictions, no kitchen scales no counting. No food deprivation. Lost fat and built muscle. My caveat. It took me a while to figure out what I could eat to sustain 23 hours of not taking in kcals. What works for me will not necessarily work for someone else. Be the lab rat, work out what is best for you.
@@garrickmorley4465 Not when the surplus was 39 lbs of extra FAT. That said - the average person has 100.000 kcals of energy that they could tap into before they ran into real health problems. @@felipearbustopotd You didn't say anything about a caloric surplus, you said "no food deprivation" yet your entire idea is based on quite literally depriving yourself of food for 23 hours a day.
I think the fruit depends on how active you are as I think fructose signals your body to store fat for winter. I get carbs from dairy and honey. When I eat a lot of fruit my weight creeps up. When I ever do eat fruit I eat with full fat dairy
What if you have an autoimmune issue? I felt the best on carnivore diet but only for a short period of time. Then it stared to give me many problems and it was less effective on autoimmunity as well. But adding different food makes it only worse. What should I do?
Same with me, adding some cucumbers/ fried cabbage with bacon etc has helped. I’m trying to stay off dairy as that is something I can consume at all meals.. I also gained 20 lbs on the high fat CV
Fruit honey maple syrup lactose from dairy for the win. Rice is the best starch choice then peeled overcooked potatoes. Which fruits are the most nutrient dense and the cheapest? Anyone?
I responded really well to a ketogenic diet, and it helped to heal my body and reverse my T2D. I also supplemented it with magnesium and B complex. I was never feeling or experiencing muscle aches or cramps.
Question, so honestly, how many carbs do you think you were (or are) taking in per day. The amount of carbs needed to keep electrolytes in balance may vary widely between individuals.
Paul ignores the fact that the carbs from fruit and the carbs from starches are much different. Many people including myself cannot simply “get our carbs” solely from fruit. I’ve tried it time and time again and my muscles are never able to feel fully replenished
I’ve questioned the carnivore diet and been interested in it. I went Leto for approx 1 year and lost about 50lbs of bad fat. I was very unhealthy. Now, after eating a decent amount of carbs, I have maintained my weight and feel good for the most part, but my hormones feel off. I can’t seem to manage stress like I used to and get foggy at times. I also have issues staying motivated. I’ve never been like this my entire life.
This dude is wrong about carbs, he's an outlier and most people should avoid them like the plague. Especially because we don't carbs extremely addicting.

I consume raw beef, heart, fat, other muscle meat, liver daily sometimes lamb and started adding raw kidney. I also have a raw A2 milk smoothie with raw egg yolks, banana, strawberries, blueberries and some raw honey daily❤
Carbs in what form are you saying? I just started carnivore a month ago and I am just wiped and can’t sleep well. What to take food wise? Pls help. I’m feeling terrible. First I felt so good for 4 days but now I feel bad and something in my head feels depleted and empty. I took some honey but makes no diference.
I’m a 48 year old 5 ft 10 180 -182 lbs and eat 4-6 bananas a day , 4 oranges blended in vitamin , 1/2-1 lb of blueberries, 4-8 tablespoons of raw honey and manuka honey like 2 tablespoons on other days , sweet potatoes, white potatoes, 4-8 slices of ezikiel bread daily for fuel as I’m a cyclist that rides 15-25 miles 5 days a week, strength train , wrestle , and body weight training and I’m 7-9 percent body fat and have phenomenal markers across the board . The body runs on sugar for fuel , when I have attempted to train or ride without a carb up via sugars the performance is sub par significantly. Get active on healthy carbs to get the body’s metabolism on fire and you will get fit so long as your Marcos are on point . I also eat rice , and avocados with primarily beef some chicken and occasional clean wild caught salmon. I feel stellar and my body is an absolute machine.

Paul. Taking refined sugar on a high fat diet is bad for the heart. Is there a video you've done or research that shows the interaction between fruit sugar (naturally taken) and high fats? I am on the meat and fruit with honey diet. But my fat intake is at the lower end of your recommendation and so is my carbs really. I am training moderately as i have little kids who constantly infect me with colds. But im really looking for a specific answer about high fat diet and if there is no interaction with natural sugars. That is what i am assuming, but i want to be sure. THank you
The study on cortisol was 4 weeks long. So it's not enough to conclude on long term cortisol levels when you know the time it takes to fully adapt. According to MD Anthony Chaffee, all his clients have normal cortisol level long term. The study on Methylglyoxal was less than a month in..

I get zero benefits from honey. It always ends like this: I buy a jar (expensive) and tell myself to use it sparingly. Then the sugar cravings kick in and the jar is empty on the third day and I feel bad. I do way better with 0 carbs.
Parasites, yeast imbalance, neurotransmitter issues, autoimmunity, enzyme or bacterial dysbiosis/deficiencies. There are so many variables it's overwhelming. I don't tolerate honey either even a teaspoon. Or bee pollen
Paul, I would really love to see you talk to Anthony Chaffee (MD). Hes a pretty big proponent of the carnivore diet. I need these kind of people in a room together since I get conflicting information from both sources. One HAS to be right. I'd love to see these debates play out. Currently, I'm on an Animal based diet. Its going fine although my weight loss is going very slow. I'm rolling back my fruit and raw dairy consumption to see if that helps (which I imagine it will). Personally, when I was on Keto the real benefit was the mental clarity, I have less of that on animal based. The downside I had on Keto was the lack of energy. I just felt more lethargic overall and also my cravings were insane at night. I think this was more so do to the "Keto approved" crap I was putting into my body. If I did it again I'd probably go more carnivore, really eliminating carbs. Also, on Keto my acne was a lot better, almost non-existent. On animal based it is good, but I do get flair ups sometimes. I think its due to the dairy.
@@Lamz.. Yeah, I listened to this but there wasn't much challenge to the question. There was the back and forth about fruit but that was it. I'm 70 yrs old, and eat like keto/carnivore. I do include blueberries and raspberries into my diet and feel great. My blood pressure has dropped 40 points since doing keto. I might include some honey and see what my blood pressure does. I'm off all blood pressure meds now...
What did it do?
I've heard interviews with centenials claiming that they eat ice cream regularly. That always baffled me. But it makes sense now.
Me too. Started avoiding sugar in 1972

Thanks a lot Paul for this empowering video. You are absolutely correct. All sugar is not created equal. If it's not naturally sweetened, avoid it. Is just that simple.
Yes it is. Sugar is Sugar

I was so afraid of adding maple syrup “deliberately” and honey because there’s cancer in my family and fibrosis too…. I have been working out and trying to gain weight… not scared of fruit, or honey anymore!!!I feel amazing everyday!!!! 😱
The blood work thing is where you got everyone by surprise Mr Saladino. "Skin in the game", only you have it! Keep up the good work!
When I first started my seeking of better health I was given the recommendation of eliminating all corn products, including high fructose corn syrup. That alone was enough to see huge improvements in my health. Less inflammation, better skin, weight loss and less puffiness were some of the benefits. Will never touch the stuff again.
Wish I’d heard this Before I fell for the strict Keri- no carb diet . Keep teaching the truth. The last thing I wanted was to raise my cortisol !

My life has improved so much by incorporating fruit and raw dairy into my carnivore lifestyle. Found your channel a few months ago and really enjoy the content!
Life changing content Paul!

I'm thriving on a carnivorfrutarian diet. Thanks Paul
Yup. Exactly the 3 macronutrients have been subverted through subsidization with soy, seed oils, and HFCs. Protein, fats, and carbs.
I feel way better adding in fruits and honey. Sleep easier, stronger, leaner
You're making sh*it up, right? You would be the first one ever to develop a fatty liver on a carnivore diet.
Can i only eat banana ? I dont like other fruit u mention
Thanks for the feedback !
Ray Peat and Paul Saladino. What an awesome combination, best thing since sliced....liver! Big thank You!
Luckily I found this video, adding some fruit and honey to my carnivore diet improved a lot of issues I was having by only eating meat. Thank you
Had bacon, eggs and an orange for dinner 👌I have always loved fruit and berries, but I had problem with blood sugar drops when I was younger and 2011 I tried keto and was amazed over the fact that I didn't had to suffer from those drops and therefore continued with keto.
What were your before and after weights? Anything that might have increased test levels?
Wow you surpass the limit
@@vidalskyociosen3326 haha just the "normal" range... which isn't necessarily good(?).
Dr. Salisbury the 1st Carnivore MD. Said after a period of all meat diet ,introducing 20% carbs is good. But no more.
Dr. Shawn Baker is way older than this guy, but this guy way look older.
Well, Paul, I was pre-diabetic. Ketogenic diet fixed my insulin resistance.
So many others have the same testimony.
If you were pre diabetic then presumably you weren't eating very well before, I would think any moderately healthy diet would have fixed it.
I trust Paul because he is not saying what everyone wants to hear.
How do you figure? Everyone wants to continue feeding their sweet tooth.
What about salicylates in fruits and honey? Should we watch out for these?

When I was Whole Food plant-based, I was eating the equivalent of about 3 to 4 russet size potatoes a day along with lots of coconut cream, and I didn’t gain any weight from this! I also had a big salad every day with a nut based dressing and was actually eating more calories than recommended for my weight. eating that many potatoes did not make me fat! And I even ate the potatoes with a saturated fat!
AMEN!
Thank you for all the information 👍🏻

Well Mika
You've made a statement and that's fine.

I love it when someone can come back with other answers.
Dear Paul,
I think you should do a video on ways to reduce phytic acid(and other bad things) from stuff like beans, grains etc and whether or not it’s a significant enough decrease to make the food worth eating.
Very helpful information.
I do Keto. I eat lots of bacon every morning, along with 3 fried eggs. For lunch and dinner I have 3 fried hamburger patties. Everything is fried in butter and bacon grease. My libido is better than it has ever been and I'm almost 59 years old. I credit the Ketogenic diet.

I did strict carnivore for 5 months, got the cramps, added white rice, got bloated after like a week, stopped that, added OJ. Fixed it right up
Ironically, I found out trying the Animal Based diet for 24 days, that I cannot handle fructose very well.
When I consume Honey, I still find alcohol revolting 😅
Very interesting! Thanks
I agree. I craved orange juice badly during carnivore experiments.

Thanks sooo much 4 this information 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😊❤️
YES!! I think it's time for that Danny Roddy conversation!
Awesome video thank you ❤
I went on keto to lose weight but also to keep insulin lower and become more insulin sensitive. Control of insulin is what matters and keto isn't the only way to control it
I'm so happy I'm not on a keto diet anymore.
I always found organic white rice digested amazingly. 0 issues.
yes, also pressure cook it for even easier digestion! :-)
Isn't brad obese?

Is 1 or 2 dry figs good to eat?
Can I also eat 1 banana, or should I look into other fruits?
Dried figs are sickeningly high in oxalates. Damn. The only fruit l can eat is citrus 🍋 in water and a daily orange. Tried soaking dry mango but it was too much. Made me hungry. Now l snack on a bite of raw butter.
figs are not actually a fruit. i would love to know what paul has to say about them, cause they sure taste good
High in oxalates sadly.
You should do a video on rice.
What about blackstrap molasse? It seems to have a lot of mineral. Must be as good as honey, fruits and maple syrup. Right?
Me too! i could use molasses, but what about the high levels of acrylamide?!
Need more content to breakdown which fruits are the least toxic, or have the least antinutrients. I've seen a couple graphs but only show a small range of fruits and leaves out soo many that I would like to know where they fall on the scale.
I love apples, but there are really low on nutrients compared to a banana or some pineapple.
100% I want to know what the best carbs to add to a carnivore diet are and best time of day to consume them.
We wouldn’t have insulin if we weren’t meant to eat some sugars
I agree, after 2 months of Keto my anxiety was worse, I had constant heart palpitations despite taking minerals and drinking water. Fruit made me feel better. Also FullyRawKristina fully reversed her type 2 diabetes with carbohydrates
