  • WATCH IN HD OKAY!? :) I lost some of my outro footage, but give this video a thumbs up if you liked it and please subscribe if ya wanna see more of me :) ----- tonight's entertainment brought to you from my bathroom. not exactly the most graceful of videos, but i hope you enjoyed watching me bleach my dark roots at home, and then tone my hair with the wella toner in T10 (pale blonde/ivory lady) - which gave an amazing ashy but not too ashy cool blonde.
    **I only left my toner on for a couple minutes because my hair is damaged and porous and soaks up colour very fast. depending on your hair type/condition, you may want to leave it on longer.

      U guys should really try this yourself. I just recently started doing my own color to platinum and it’s still an adventure but always turns out very well. I use a box color kit bcuz I’m still nervous about mixing powder and developer (even tho I’m doing it with the box kit-there’s instructions that r THOROUGH and it makes me feel confident) which is weird. My next color I will only use powder and developer bcuz it makes sense now. Today I am toning for the first time. I’ve seen a ton of videos like this but this is the absolute best and it made it all make a lot of sense to me. U guys should try it. It’s easier than u think I promise.

    Just spent $120 on a partial foil when I specifically told the doosh I wanted ALL of my roots done more than anything els, that I wear my hair 24/7 in a bun and see the outside of my roots around my head more than anywhere els. This is the 3rd time I’ve tried her and the last!!!! She doesn’t listen to what I say! I am the CLIENT. She does what she wants every-time! I’m done! This is perfect and exactly what I want. I’ll do it myself. Great job!!! All you hair stylists out there... make sure you understand what your client is asking to be done! Please!!!!

    You killed it! (in a good way) I literally just finished watching a "Wella Professional" do a pretty bad job with touching up the root area of a colored blonde... by far you did way better! Your roots arent warm and there isnt a obvious band!
    And they wonder why so many people opt to just learn how to color their own hair at home lol

    You did such a great job! Thank you for this it was super helpful. I have medium brown hair and couldn't decide if I needed 20 or 30 volume. This makes me realize I need 30 for bleaching but just 20 for toner. Thanks again :)

  • @vivistarstrukk
    @vivistarstrukk 5 років тому +121

    I have dark brown roots and use 20 vol developer and it gets light light yellow light enough to tone to platinum . Try 20 before going for 30 or 40 vol

    • @taompons
      @taompons 4 роки тому +9

      but keep in mind, it also depends how porous your hair is, the texture of it, etc. i have a friend who has dark brown hair and she can easily get a nice blonde with 20 vol because her hair texture is thin and her hair is porous. my hair is the same dark brown as hers but i have much more coarser, thicker hair due to my.. asian genes.. so it takes a while to take things in. a 20 vol for you might be great but honestly if i wanted the same results, i might have to go for like 35 to 40.

    I just did my roots and the Wella toner t10 pale blonde. I have split hair dark on one side so the roots were a little more difficult because I started from the bottom and couldn't lay the bleach over the dark side. But I absolutely Love this color toner. I've been doing highlights and blonde for many years. This is now my favorite toner color. I left it on for a half hour which it says on the bottle. Anyway I love it!!!!💕

    I used to do my own hair all the time with the same recommended products. I just paid so much a few weeks ago for my roots and the stylist didn’t even do nearly as well as I can do myself. I think it’s not even about being cheap but as the saying goes, “if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself”. Tomorrow, I’m taking over these roots that were essentially untouched by the “professional”. I already re-styled my cute long bangs so tomorrow... the roots!! Anyways, just because you DIY your hair... doesn’t mean anything. Sometimes you just have to tackle it yourself.

    You are awesome! I always refer to your tutorials, and you really are great at what you do! In this video, I cracked up at the face you made at the beginning. I make that face, and it says it all lol.- You are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for all of your hard earned knowledge, and addressing EVERYTHING! I have very light blonde hair too, and have always been afraid of toning, because it is porous in a few places, and it always grabbed, and I had an ugly mess to get rid of (more damage to get the mess out!) so, I stopped trying. Then I thought of you, and how you braved it for us all! Finally I carefully picked the right toner Wella T-10, and I love my hair color with that one. I pull a mix of light gold and yellow tones, and it seems to be the correct one. Now it is once again that scary time to touch-up my roots, and tone, and once again I am afraid a little. So what do I do? I just watch your tutorials again, and I am good! Last touch-up was the very first time I tried toning in years, and I will be doing it all again, it was very helpful where in another video, you suggested diluting the toner, and in your demo, I see that you do not leave it on long at ALL! I too, can not leave it in more than 5 minutes! I could kick myself, because that last time I toned it, and it came out fine, I did not time it! I just quickly applied it starting at my part with the nozzle of the applicator bottle getting inside my hair to my roots, and then I used my hands to kind of massage it all through my hair. Once it was fully saturated, and as soon as I saw it turning color evenly, I washed it out. It was even throughout except for a stubborn band I had, from waiting too long to do my roots (I assume that is why it banded, because it never happens when I do my roots sooner.) Next time maybe I should start the toning on those spots? because the rest of my hair is fine. As I mentioned, I did not time it last time, I only remember being terrified of it grabbing again, and remembered your tutorials, and how you said, you get it on your hair, and right out again, so that is what I did, and yes!! no grabbing! and I noticed as days went by, the tone got nicer, and more perfected. I will be following your touch-up routine, right into the toning- in fact I will play your video as I am doing my hair! Once again, I thank you so much for your time, and help. BTW- I need to watch your video on fixing damaged hair! I have seen it on here, and yes it is time! I know what I did wrong to cause the said damage, and need your great advice!

    Ugh, I want to do my own roots so bad. I'm just scared my hair dresser would come find me and kill me if I did it myself 😂

    I like the way you get right to the point and show exactly how you did it. Your hair turned out perfect. I use wella 11 & 18 but I like the color you ended with. I like icy blonde on myself. Do you know the difference with using 10 for toning?

    I started doing my own last year .. I use wella toner t-10 as well.. & it saves me from having to pay 100 or more dollars to get my hair foiled at a shop.. & I grew up watching & helping my dad he did women's hair for like 35 years until he semi retired & just cuts men's hair now..

    This was so helpful clear and concise. Thank you! One thing is that maybe you should be started from the back because it isnt exposed to sun there so Is generally thicker and darker. Xx
