    I have auditioned self tapes in the past and they haven't gone well but I'm glad they didn't because now I know the difference between a good and a bad self tape...
    I really appreciate your advice and will be using it for my drama school self tapes💙💙

      Of course, glad I could help 👍🏼 these are points no one really ever talks about (even in drama school) yet they’re so essential for the actor. A better overall self tape means a better overall chance of getting noticed 👍🏼

    Hii! So I've watched many of your videos and they are great! I tried looking for auditions in my area however, all of them said that they needed vaccination which I don't have. Are there any ways to still act even without the vaccine? Or do I need it to book any roles?

    I have a serious question btw, I really hope u make a video about these things, is it okay to say no to certain things when trying to become an actor? Will it hinder your progress into making a successful acting career, like for example, yes or no to sex scenes, acting in scenes that make you uncomfortable, deciding whether you wanna cut your hair or not. Do these things affect your chances of getting more roles?

      I think you get a contract about the whole project, so from that you may be able to have a say in what you're comfortable with. But I'm assuming this all has to be done way before the filming process for the project you're auditioning for. There also may be a contract you need to sign before you officially get the acting job you auditioned for as well, then it may say all the things you may or not be comfortable with. From this, you'll be able to negotiate with directors and your agent about your boundaries.
      For your last sentence of "chances of getting more roles", its all about how you want to represent yourself if you were to have your first acting project debut as well as the type of actor you want to be. So hopefully, your agent sends you auditions AFTER you state all your boundaries, but make sure your boundaries aren't too specific since you'd want to have the most accessibility to many acting roles possible.
      Hope this helps, this industry is super spontaneous I'd say.

      Is boundaries on hair "too specific"?
      It's just an example, it could come down to how I'd want to represent myself as an actor, or maybe simply because the actor would just wanna keep the look, not for publicity reasons, would that hurt his chances?

      let's say you get the audition sent to you by your agent, submit it with your headshot then get the job with it, you may not need to do anything to things like your hair since again you fit the role description. So overall I think for your LOOK in particular, you would've sent your headshot considering in the headshot you have the look you want, then you get picked after auditioning, they already like you so no need to change anything, maybe just hairstyles.

    Awesome info. What’s a middle of the line camera as far as price goes that you would recommend? I have a pro cam shop near me and they are selling used cannons for a reasonable price but it comes with a built in mic. There are no refunds so I won’t be able to test it and return in.

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  2 роки тому +1

      Glad you enjoyed! Honestly, there are so many options with varying price ranges, that I would suggest spending a morning just looking at hands on reviews online of the cameras themselves, to see which one would work/fit best for you. Canon is also not the only camera brand out there 👍🏼

    Man thanks for the video bro, and now that we are talking about this.... I'm about to put on my braces because my teeth kind of ugly and i've been told that is an issue being an actor with braces on......is that bad??? Greetings From Venezuela Latin America.

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  2 роки тому +3

      If you think you should get braces and you want them, then you should get them. Braces don’t last forever and it’s nice to have good teeth. Don’t worry about it too much, again because it’s not forever. For a short amount of time it might limit roles you may be able to audition for depending if you’re older, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much. There are still some roles available and your teeth will look great in the end 👍🏼
