I think a lot of people are watching all these videos, because I meet people who try to do all these things that these videos recommend, but everything goes out the window when something goes wrong and then their true character comes out and you see their true colors. To me, being genuine and being a nice person is the best way to be popular. Most people can see through other people when they are trying to employ a technique and trying to "be popular". Maybe it's best not to try to "be popular" but to be a good person who cares about others, and then you will be popular.

Fun fact: Chris Hemsworth is described as the "most sensitive Hemsworth brother". He didn't like conflict, he liked to sew, he was never a bully, he was very much the stereotypical middle child--creative, peacekeeping and sensitive. The reason he's considered the most attractive of all the brothers even if Liam could challenge him looks-wise is because he's a warm, kind, sensitive person, and is unafraid to show it. Given that he gets a lot of big bruiser badass roles, the revelation that he's not only a great dad but that he's always been "the sensitive one" who clearly shares affection and is completely and totally secure in his masculinity is extremely attractive to both women and men.

Chris reminds me of a friend I had during my Air Force service days. It would have been easy to dismiss his easy going way of being liked by all...and just focus and credit his looks. That was not the case. Genuinely good hearted, and openly generous ways paved the way for my friend to share his warmth and outlook on life in the most glorious ways possible. He was always a joy to be around. Life threw him some rough curve balls. On a subsequent visit several years after our service separation, I saw a measured pullback in his connection with the world. It saddened me at first; yet there was no doubt in my mind that my friend would surmount his difficulties with grace. I miss him. Thank you for being in my life and continuing to be a source of inspiration to this very day, FKC.

I think it depends on who the other person it is and also how you personally act while you do that. I am a "Universal toucher" and it does mislead certain people but once me and that person is in the group. They usually start to realize that I'm just a "touchy" person and that I'm not interested in that way. If they drop hits that they like me, I try to basically tell them I see them only as friends with verbal language and body language. If it start getting too weird though then I don't touch that person at all while still showing in good with everyone else.

I think that the point about his jokes elevating the people around him is spot on. I've actually noticed how much of a difference this makes in real life. When I was in middle school/early high school, my friends and I would constantly make jokes at one another's expense. The "haha you have no friends" or the "what the hell are you wearing?" type. We would pass it off as silly and not serious, but it made me feel like crap in the long run, and actually hurt my self-esteem a lot. Now, we all make jokes that elevate others, and everything is so much better. We don't do it insincerely either. Not saying this is the only reason my friendships are in a better place nowadays, but it played its part.
tl;dr: Make jokes that build your friends up, not tear them down. It really does make a difference.

Ellie Em my husband has a humor like that. I’ve said to be his friend you have to have thick skin and “get” him or else you won’t hold up and take it personally. In his defense, he can take as well as give too. But it can be too much sometimes, especially when it’s just a constant barrage of playful insults, it just creates a negative vibe. He’s very charismatic otherwise though. People love him generally.

Also, I wish more women would elevate other men and women around them as much as men tend to do (always envious of the closeness of male friendships, where they constantly build each other up, support them, and also checks them by being honest with them). Paul O'Reilly yes, Eastern Europe. I lived in Poland and have been to other Eastern European countries and they don’t smile like we do in the US nor do they have the same open friendliness. They think Americans look like buffoons and are “fake.” (I heard the word fake associated with American friendliness many times in Poland).
