      You bet Ricky! Thanks for the kind comment. Correct, though the bracket doesn’t apply to you directly, the wiring will be a lot the same should you go another route for compressor mounting.. 813 plans to have multi vehicle applications, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you see other vehicle brands and Jeep model applications available soon in their website.

    Another FANTASTIC video John!!! Love the install timeline, and all of the tips and issues you highlighted for viewers to watch out for and be prepared for. If possible, I always like to have everything I need before I start my install so that I don't have to run to the hardware store in the middle of it. I bought this except I have the chuck mounted next to the air compressor not under the seat. I think the bracket next to the compressor is a better use of space and since the unit gets hot it's nice to drop the back of the seat down to help get rid of the heat. I also have the double compressor so it probably gets hotter than the single. It's such a tight fit back there that i really think it is the best use of space for it. Just my 2 cents!

    • @GatorOverland
      @GatorOverland  2 роки тому

      I totally agree… At the time of my install the bracket was not available… Surprisingly the twin compressor runs a lot cooler than the single. There is a video out there by Nate Johnson who put some reflective heat sheet on the back of the seat to dissipate the heat… I recently got the 513 lockable bin and will be relocating the Chuck to the side of the bin.

    I don’t know if you changed this but I would recommend adding an inline 40amp or 30amp (whatever it called for) at the battery. Your fuse blows at the pump it’s easy to change but you have a live 12v wire all the way back. It gets compromised anywhere along that length and it’s a straight short. That fuse at the battery provides protection from short and pump overload. Just a suggestion.

    Great video, In the future, skip the tape on flare style fittings. Its a straight thread, not tapered, the seal is made with the metal compression at the end, the tape could actually hamper the seal. Loctite 5452 would be the a recommended product to use instead. Google search "Do JIC fittings need Teflon tape?"

    This wire graphic is different for my Aux switch bank install. I ordered the Mopar switch bank through my Jeep dealer and it came with Aux 1, Aux 3 =40 amp, and Aux 2 and 4 were 15 amp. I had my Everblade heated wipers installed to Aux 2 switch at 15amp. I bought my 2020 JT without the Aux bank and had it installed after purchase.

      Interesting. I have a diagram showing then amperage per color and it’s in the manual as well. Odd the placement is different for you, but at any rate the color wire you’re attaching to is more relevant than the button as long as you know what button the wire goes to. Thanks for the info, good to know!

      @@GatorOverland There is a guys video from Singapore installing the Aux Switch to his GF JL, they are the same as JT and I was confused at 1st too, but he showed the harness and fuses. It was set up like mine. They might have 2 different companies making them and the dealer installed is different from the factory installed. Either way guys can figure it out pretty quickly.

      FYI, the Mopar add-on wire harness for aux switches is different than the factory installed. I believe it was also missing the switched 12v. Same as the add-on towing wire kit for the JL and maybe JT is missing the plug and play brake controller. I added the aux and brake kit on my JL.

    So I have to go to the compressor itself to hook up my air line, right? Is there a switch available to mount to the compressor to avoid all this switching mess?

    • @GatorOverland
      @GatorOverland  2 роки тому

      No, you can remote the air truck anywhere you want. All you have to do is thread into the 1/4” NPT port on the compressor body with a Tee or elbow (barbed or jic-04 compression fitting) and you can hose your Chuck connection to anywhere you want… Some people actually make a chuck connection at all four wheels in the wheel wells and from there can just use about a 2 foot lead to each tire rather than a full octopus like I have. I have my chuck on a small bracket underneath the seat, The compressor is behind the seat.
      Now as far as the switch goes it’s quite simple but the way their harness is, it can seem complicated… I would be happy to help you understand it outside of UA-cam… Shoot me an email at jkhartel3@gmail.com
      To put it simply… All you need is your two leads that are 10 gauge coming from the compressor going directly to the battery… And then a wire from a 12 V source (14-18ga) (red/yellow) running to the switch input (middle left spade), and your red (single) or purple (twin) wire coming off the switch output (lower left spade)
      If you have an auxiliary group all you need to do is connect a wire from the auxiliary output wire to the that same red or purple wire
