  • ARB Twin Compressor with a 4 liters Air Tank is awesome for an off-road and 4x4 overland vehicle. This is its review and its installation in our Land Rover Defender Puma. We have the ARB Twin Compressor with its 4 liters (1 gallon) air tank since 2018, we bought the ready to use portable ARB compressor during our road trip in Australia. Then, we installaed in in our Land Rover Defender as an onboard compressor. Now, we are re-installing it in a different place for our new camper set-up.

    The ARB compressor is a great accessory, but they are expensive! Still, for someone doing quite a bit of off roading it's one of the best investments you can make. Fits under the seat very neatly.

      Price tag is quite high compared to cheap ones but as you say absolutely worth it for any 4x4 overlander/offroader

    Just modified my Viair 400p. I removed the the crocodile clips and wired an Anderson plug direct to the second battery. I have ordered more bits from 12v planet using the code you gave to put an Anderson connection at front of my 90. Then I can carry compressor to front to air up front tyres. Have also been looking at getting an Indeflate to simplify airing up and down just deciding whether to get the two hose or four hose kit.

      Thanks for sharing and happy the discount coupon on 12voltplanet was helpful 😃. Don't have any experience with the Indeflate kit you mention, will check it out.

    You can always use (nut rivits) for unaccessible places 👌🏼

    How hot does it get? Could be a bit of a worry to have it heating up in a confined space surrounded by carpets. Still looks an excellent tool.

      Never had any issue. It was previously installed between the back seats and wooden setup, now under the back seats. Air flow should be all good 👍

    Pourquoi pas sous le siège sa serait plus pratique 😊

    Sorry, but an air tank in that application makes no difference to inflation times. Do an experiment with the tank and with out. Nice Install Video. And yeah! Rivnuts.

    Hi Émeline, nice video, as usual! Keep up the good work 👌🏼
    Why not using rivets to fix the compressor if the other side of the floor isn’t accessible?
    Maybe some sikaflex in the holes before and after placing the rivets would have done the job perfectly. 🙃

      Thanks! The compressor already has rivet nut on its bracket so we didn't want to remove them to do the install the other way around (rivnuts on Defender, remove compressor's brackets to drill it, etc...). But the install is all good :)

    When you dont have space rivet nuts are solution.
    Cheers. 🍺&🍷

      It is! But rivet nuts were already on compressor fixation plate :)

    How much pressure do you use on mountain roads? How fast can you go when the pressure is released?

    • @offtrackfamily
      @offtrackfamily  2 роки тому

      If the question is for normal roads, we keep the normal pressure, and if you're asking for mountain tracks we lower the tires between 0.7 to 1 bar and adapt speed to terrain.

    For inaccessible location on my LR that need a thread I use Rivnuts.
    I like the ARB twin but if you think space is limited in a D110, try my S2A 88"😉
    It's a bit of a dick move on ARB not having a drain hole in the receiver.

    • @offtrackfamily
      @offtrackfamily  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the message! Not having a drain hole seems normal as you can mount it any way round. The compressor's bracket already has rivnuts and we didn't want to add work by modifying the bracket. Haha, not sure we could do what we are doing and all fit in a S2A ;)

      @@offtrackfamily Many thanks for the reply.
      Apologies, I thought the tank brackets had adjustable bands like a lorry air tank, not weld to the tank, then you could've swapped the airline and drain valve fixings depending on how its mount.🤔
      You video has now spooled up the ideas side of this LR enthusiast😉
      With enough lube I reckon you lot could squeeze everything into a 88...just roll around in all the EP90 it leaks out😂
      I'm looking forward to what your next video has instore.
      Keep up the good work 👍🏻
