This is probably the most comprehensive air compressor install video for a gladiator available ‘till this day.
We’ll done!
Thank you!
Nice I am going to install the smaller compressor and i wll follow your lead and have the chuck outside the egine bay somewhere
That looks very clean. Out of sight and tucked in nicely with no drilling required. Awesome. I’m not ready for this mod...but it looks like one I can tackle when the time is right. I’ll need Aux switches before I can do this.
Thanks Mark.. so far it's been great.
There’s a kit the provides a replacement for the drivers side cowl drop that provides Chuck and switch mount behind a cover. It looks like the charge port on the 4+e
Ooooo adding these to my Christmas list!
I always have Jeep parts on my Christmas list :)
Nice install!
Nice install video. I also bought the Sherman Cap, they need to make it in black. I plan on plasti-dipping mine.
That's a great idea, did not think of that... let me know how it turns out.
Thank you for this video, this is exactly the way I want to install mine.
Glad it could be of help.
Great video! I would route a line to the rear bumper too.
I did that on my JK, I may do that on the Gladiator once I get my bed rack.
Silly question here, but isn't that location exposing it to water when crossing a river and such?
I kind thought that too originally but in talking to an ARB rep, they told me that they are designed to withstand the elements and we are relocating the air filters to the hood line as well so they assured there would be no issues. I do have my JK and my Bronco compressors installed in the engine bay. After 2 years of trails and some water fording, I not had any issues with it... still going strong.
Makes sense

Could you just remove the inner fender liner to install? Seems easier and you just have to replace the plastic rivets
Installed the same Grimm setup year and half ago. Went to install inner fenders and found out that that location causes issues 😢
@23:19 So there.. she is guys! Yes sir! 😎✌️
good job. thanks for sharing.
Thanks Corey!
Excellent Video!!!!!!!
Glad you liked it!
Well done
Thanks Brian.
Nice Gladiator
Thank you Stanley!
This is a year late, so hopefully I can still get an answer. I’m doing an identical install on my Gladiator this week. So the main power hooks directly to the battery. But how did you do the switch wiring? I’m using my factory aux switch, like you did, but which wire from compressor did you use? The purple to the aux wire and black to body ground or just the purple?
Good stuff brother! Looking forward to install my kit soon, do you know where the ARB locker connector might go?
The manifold kit would install through the main air line on top of the unit. You then can mount to the front of the compressor mount or relocate it elsewhere.
@@BullGearOffRoad will the manifold fit mounted on the compressor behind the wheel?
Nicely done.
What happens when your articulating through an obstacle and the front tire hits the wheel well, does the tire also hit the a/c? Or doing a deep water crossing, I'd imagine the a/c would get soak or probably short out.
It's far enough that it won't rub or hit the air compressor and the air compressor is designed to take abuse from the elements... I've had one in my JK for about 6 years now in all kinds of water crossings and still going strong.
At 23:20, I thought you meant the girl on the poster behind you:)
LOL, I did...
@@BullGearOffRoad BTW, as I was watching the video, I realized I was wearing the same Tactical Sasquatch shirt, lol. Glad you’re supporting BLRCC😉
Is the compressor hooked directly to the battery and then aux switch wire is used as turn on? Or did you use the 30amp aux switch wire as your hot lead?
Yes, it's connected directly to the battery and only took the on/off switch lead from the control harness to the 30amp aux switch wire.
@@BullGearOffRoad Thanks!!
I can't seem to find this kit with all the (JT/JL) mounting hardware anywhere. Only one I can find is either just the compressor or the in-cabin mounting kits.
Have you tried Northridge4x4.com? That's where I got his kit. www.northridge4x4.com/part/engine-underhood-package-deals/gor10013pkg-arb-compressor-w-grimm-offroad-bracket-kit
@@BullGearOffRoad I will now! Thanks!!
Do you think the hood needs to be open to charge?
Hi Kevin, I'm not sure what you are asking. Charge what?
@@BullGearOffRoad I mean should the hood be open to run in this configuration or do you generally open the hood to run it while airing up?
Great video!!
What size tires do you have on your rig?
Do you recommend the single compressor on 35’s or do I need the tween system.
I just got a Jeep and I am trying to figure out all of this. Thanks in advance.
Hi Alejandro, Those are 37" Mickey Thompson's. I'm running a dual air compressor, I had a single compressor but it would occasional shut off because it would get too hot. I haven't that had issue with the dual compressor and it's quicker.
Is that an ARB air chuck? in the Sherman cap?
Yes, it is.
Amazing video 📹 👏
You got me subscribed
thanks and welcome.
Could that air system be waterproof? I was thinking of installing that unit on the rear between the frame rails on a RAM 2500. I was wondering once it rains would that damage it?
As long as you keep the air filters out of the water you should be good.
Wish that kit worked on the diesel.
Does this location work for a eco diesel wrangler
No, It does not.. I've seen most instal inside cab or in bed that have the ecodiesel.
Very nice
thanks Robert
Did you feel Teflon tape was not needed?
Actually, I realized that I probably didn’t need it on the air hose connectors but I did on the main connector on the compressor side. The braided hose did not need tape.
Where did you connect the igition wire? And what is the wire that is supposed to be connecting to the illumination wire used for??? Does this have a light? I know the ignition wire is so you dont use it with the car off but i have no clue what the illumination wire is used for?
Illumination wire is used to light up the symbol on the switch so you can see it at night
To slow homie I put my ARB Dual in last weekend! 😝
I broke six clips...
LOL.. It's been cold and windy here for the last few weeks. finally got nice enough to do it. and it's windy and cold again today.
Is the compressor waterproof?
Yes.. but keeping the events out of water is key. I've had one on my JK for 6 years now and have had it soaked and still works good. I think if you get the vents under water you just have to make sure it dries out before using.
@@BullGearOffRoad Ill keep that in mind. Thank you
Am I the only one who thinks this is the worst spot ever to place it? I go in water that would submerge that entirely two or three times a year. This is a west coast only mount.
