I usually use food more as a healing item rather than to replenish my hunger. Because of this, I'm pretty low on food throughout most of my early game. As for the food, I've used boiled meat for the last couple of years as I like the two-in-one combo of food/water taking, only one slot of space while also only requiring 1 level in master chef early. Cutting the need to search for eggs is also a massive plus for me, as I like to live in the snow, so meat is readily accessible. Once I have the stews unlocked, I usually use meat stew for the next 99% of the game. I save the late game recipes for horde nights when I want to fight out in the open with my grandad's old steelies once in a while! Anyway, thanks for the video, Pix.
Yeah stew is pretty mush the staple for me also and youre welcome :)
I just bought the game and this video helped me out ALOT. My friend and me kept dying of hunger but now we will survive longer. Thanks for this great guide!

i dont know if anyoff this is in console game though... Anyhow, i was really looking some hack when starting ,and not when the game has been over last 300 hours already
Grilled meat is good for the early game as long as you find a grill. Since finding eggs is a major pain. and completely unreliable.
Also don't make boiled stuff because it uses up the jar for some stupid reason. You'll run out of jars and then have nothing to drink.
I usually just eat the cornmeal as I get it because it takes up space, gives almost no food value and all the recipes for it are terrible.
Plus you can grow basically an unlimited amount of the stuff in a farm.
Is it the same on PS4?
This is on alpha 20, i dont think PS4 is on A20
